Thanks to all for your lovely comments Let's just say at this early stage, Moose loves Zephyr more than Zephyr loves Moose But Zephyr is getting used to having a little shadow around again and I know they will be best mates soon. Zephyr was like this when I first got my Saint too (who I no longer have) but then once he realised the pup was staying, he decided he loved him Just a matter of time. That's awesome, Bernese are such capable dogs They were originally bred to pull the milk carts to the dairy, but were also used as general purpose farm dogs. A full grown male is definitely an impressive dog No, their lips are only slightly developed, not exaggerated like other breeds (eg. Saint, Newfie) so they will drool occassionally (and some more than others) but it is not excessive by any means. They are not what I would call a drooly breed but then again not completely dry mouthed either. Hope that makes some sense! You definitely will! :D His first show will be the Bernese specialty on 10th July (perfect timing!) then I'm sure we'll be out at SACA sometime soon after that. Glad you like it, I've had some mixed reactions to his name so far But I don't care as I love it. Absolutely! Sounds great, shall have to arrange something once he's all vaccinated.

Not really! Was way too excited He's home now, and he's just perfect :D Link to more photos: http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/221487-everyone-loves-a-bernese-baby/page__gopid__5340682 I remember when I first brought Zeph home from the breeder, he cried the ENTIRE trip home and I thought, oh god what have I done? Moose couldn't be more different, he hasn't sooked once since leaving his littermates. He is such a confident and happy little boy, I am super pleased with him. Have introduced him to his crate and he seems to like that too. We'll see how much sleep I get tonight though...!

DOLers, meet my latest addition Moose We picked him up this morning. It was totally by chance that this little boy has come to live with us, I just happened to contact Zephyr's breeder last week (Zephyr is my 6.5 year old Bernese) and she mentioned that she currently had a litter and was looking for a show home for one very special little boy. She invited us to come and have a look at him, so we did and how could we not fall in love! He is 8.5 weeks old and just the most beautiful baby, I am very pleased with him and looking forward to making my debut in the show ring with such a quality pup. Moose at 6 weeks: And at 7 weeks: And one taken by us when we visited them at 8 weeks: And these were taken today: Meeting big brother Zeph, not the greatest pic but still cute

Going to bed now! In the morning we will be collecting Moose Goodnight all, look out for an update tomorrow!

I really like Riku, very unique I really like Sari and Saphira. All your names are very girly and pretty though, great choices! One of Moose's brothers is going to be named Frankie by his new family

Huge congrats to all of you, very well deserved

Depending just how big you want to go, a Bernese Mountain Dog would suit you very well. They are happy, fun-loving dogs, very eager to please, and have to be with you whenever they possibly can.

He is beautiful Lucious!!!

Hehehe thanks everyone Glad you like him! Looking forward to making our showing debut also, will be nice to catch up with you again Yes I've got a 6.5 year old Bernese currently, named Zephyr. He is from the same breeder Moose is coming from, but he's not a show dog. I got him when I was 17 which seems like a lifetime ago!!! He is my big baby and I love him to death, if Moose is half the dog Zephyr is I'll be pleased

Thanks all, we can't wait to bring him home. I feel bad as I am just joining this thread, yet we get our puppy in only five days time Whereas I know plenty of you have to wait such a long time. It all just fell into place though, I happened to contact my breeder the other day (same breeder I got Zephyr from) just to say hi, and she mentioned she was looking for a home for one very special little boy. She did have a home lined up for him but lately had been having a few reservations about them. So she offered for us to come and have a look. I had really wanted another Saint next as I do miss having a Saint in my life, but my OH prefers the Bernese, so we decided to go check this pup out and OHH MY GOSH we fell completely in love!!! (How could you not :D ) So maybe it was meant to be. I have some photos which I will add in the next day or so, just don't have my camera lead on me at the moment!

He comes home on Friday!!!

Changed my mind - I'm too excited not to spill the beans! We are going to look at a Bernese puppy this afternoon, a beautiful show potential male. There is a very big chance he might be coming home with us! :D :D :D
-
Eeeeek I can't say too much just yet!!! Bursting with potential excitement, but it may not be going ahead just yet. Will advise if anything is decided!!! :D
-
Thankyou both, perfect

I may be joining this thread.....MAYBE! ;)

Thought I'd put this in here as General gets the most traffic, hope that's ok! For a dog's registered name, how many letters/spaces are you allowed? I know the prefix is included. Thanks

Oh my gosh Corgi bubbas!!!!

Hi Freetoroam Welcome to the forums! Saints are the greatest, you really can't beat them Come and see us in the Saint Bernard thread (the first link provided by Rainy there) as we will all be happy to answer any questions (lots of very experienced and knowledgeable people in there) plus we LOVE puppy photos! Where are you getting your new pup from?

I really feel for you, it is one of the hardest situations to deal with. I went through a similar thing just over 12 months ago. In my situation, I moved out while the ex kept the house we had owned together. He kept both dogs while I moved back in with my parents, until such time as I found my own place, then I took one dog back (this was pre-agreed upon.) I wonder if both dogs could go somewhere temporarily until you find your feet again? I know it's difficult to find someone who would agree to this though. Could you stay in the house and get a friend in to help with the rent?

Just be prepared that she may not even use it! My Bernese has never set foot in a kennel, just doesn't like them. He sleeps inside at night anyway.

I'd travel anywhere in Aus Ronda what are you getting??
