  1. Hi guys, please forgive my questions, I'm new to all this. I just entered a show using ozentries then realised that entries actually closed two days ago. It said I had successfully entered and my payment was processed. I've only paid for one baby puppy on one day so it's no great expense and I'm not at all concerned about losing the money, but how will I know now if I am actually entered or not? And for future, if I had got my entry in on time, is there a way to check that you are actually 100% entered? I don't think we get sent catalogues here in SA prior to the show. I would just hate to arrive and then not be able to compete! Feeling like a real novice!
  2. Sally I just want you to know that I've been following your thread and am so sorry to read of all this hardship you're going through with Kenzie. She was such a sweet pup and I remember how excited you were to get her, with plans to compete in all your favourite dog sports. It's shitty when plans don't work out She's so lucky to have you fighting her battles for her though. Hang in there x
  3. When I told the breeder his update she said "Wow that's big!" However the vet thought he was even a tad underweight for the size of his frame, as he could feel his ribs and spine very easily. I am so conscious of not letting him get overweight though so I'd rather him a little lighter than a little heavier. He's not a guts when it comes to his food at all.
  4. Sumo got vaccinated today, and he weighed in at 16.3kg at 12 weeks :) The vet absolutely loved him! And he was such a good boy while being handled all over by a stranger. Love my little man :)
  5. I think many people might "think" they believe that, but it doesn't seem overly practical. A fish tank or something, maybe even a canary. Dogs in the vast majority of workplaces however wouldn't work.
  6. Also just a friendly tip, this forum promotes purebred dogs, but we love all dogs. We don't however buy into the designer names, so please refer to your dog as a Spaniel x Poodle :) Welcome to DOL though and I hope you stick around :)
  7. But small aggressive ones are OK? Was about to say this! I don't really understand the point of the exercise. If you want to meet everyone from your workplace's dogs then why not send out an email for a picnic or other social gathering outside of the office. Maybe I'm just jealous, being a flight attendant I could never participate :p
  8. There are two varieties of Saints, those with short hair, aka smooth coats, and those with long hair, aka rough coats. Smooths are the original Saints, the roughs came about after they were interbred with Newfoundlands. Sumo is a rough, and is definitely very cuddly! He absolutely adores cuddles, I'm currently rewarding good behaviour and training progress with cuddles rather than treats, as that's what he thrives on! He's pretty great :D
  9. Discuss with his breeder :) He or she should be able to tell you if your dog is suitable for the show ring, as not all are. Some have minor faults which don't effect their ability to be a loving pet, but may exclude them from showing. He also needs to be on main reg as Haredown mentioned, and entire.
  10. Oh yes they're big alright. I know a couple of adult male Saints in this country who are over 100kg.
  11. Sumo belongs to me :) Dory has Willow :) but thankyou I will still accept the compliment!
  12. It's true he has very soulful eyes that are near impossible to resist! Or stay mad at  I haven't actually weighed him since he came home but judging on what he was putting on each week, and using his litter brother's weight as a guide (the owner told me how heavy he is) I'm guesstimating about 14-15kg. He is such a cuddle bunny! I've never met a pup like him, most want to bite your hands or squirm away but he is so content to just lay with us - or on us - and have pats. He's definitely the most chilled out pup I've ever raised. We're predicting a very placid adult :)
  13. Growing already! Sumo today at 11.5 weeks. The No-Puppy-On-The-Lounge rule somehow got forgotten He never gets up there himself, but we can't resist bringing him up for a cuddle sometimes :)

  15. I've seen a Facebook pic and can confirm that she is in fact beautiful! :D Congrats on having her home!
  16. Did they travel in the same crate? Take a snap of them together if you can! :)
  17. Not long now Dory yay!!! My OH will be so jealous, he was pushing for a Rottie this time around. He'll have to make do with pictures for now :)
  18. Dory, all the best for tomorrow! Looking forward to Willow photos!
  19. After a few more phone calls and emails, I have entered Sumo in his first shows yay :D 15th and 16th June, but we may only get to one of them. Time to start practising!
  20. She hasn't said anything about not exhibiting him until the re-registration has gone through, so I'll assume I'm safe. I guess it's different rules to Dogs NSW.
  21. This is the response I got from Dogs SA when I emailed them: Hi Cassie Thanks for the re-registration. All is okay to enter the Riverland shows on the 14th – 16th June. The registration number to use is the NZ one – ie ********** It may be a couple of weeks before you receive an ANKC pedigree from this office.
