  1. Is he purebred? He doesn't seem to have a very deep chest. But I'm no bull breed expert. He's a cutie either way! :)
  2. That's very exciting! Hope all goes well tomorrow! :)
  3. Thankyou, it was years ago now but still hurts to think about And I vowed to never again buy from unsound parents or a breeder who didn't health test.
  4. It would be in your's and Sailor's best interests to ask before you hand over any money :) I would think hip scores as an absolute minimum, but there may be other tests that should've been done before breeding her parents too. You won't know if you don't ask! Take it from me, someone who has been badly burnt in the past. My pup's parents were not hip scored and as it turns out, should never have been bred. My baby was born with severe and crippling hip dysplasia and was put to sleep at 7 months old. A truly horrible experience that I would never wish upon anyone, but it's not all that uncommon unfortunately!
  5. Ignore the number on the scales. How does he look? Does he have a waistline when viewed from above? Can you easily feel (but not see) his ribs? If so, then I'd say he's fine. You don't want too much excess weight on a growing pup. For an indication of how big he will be at maturity, look at his parents and grandparents.
  6. She's not from a fulltime breeder, just purebred ad on gumtree, from brisbane that's now gone. Hoping for little Sailor's sake that they've done the required health testing for the breed. Wishing you all the best, she's a cutie :)
  7. Welcome Turka :) I love the White Shepherds! A friend used to own one. Is it a White Swiss Shepherd Dog that you're getting? Or a White German Shepherd? I think they're different breeds. If you want to feed the closest possible diet to a wild dog, I would look into a prey model diet. Good luck!
  8. Agree. Stick to what has been proven to work. For that advice, go to your breeder and/or those experienced raising giant breed pups. Get it wrong and you're looking at potential disaster I also agree.
  9. That's exactly what he's like, I love it :) Thanks everyone.
  10. Quick pic of my little boy :p This is 15.5 weeks old and about 25kg (my OH's estimation, he lifts bags of cement all day so is usually pretty accurate)

  12. Wow isn't it nice when it happens sooner than expected! :) Here's hoping you can bring pup home on Wednesday!
  13. This is the food my Saint Bernard baby is on and loving, he is currently 16 weeks. Saints and Mastiffs are quite alike structurally and I would personally think it'd be great for a Mastiff too, but as already said, seek guidance from your breeder. They should definitely provide you with info about what to feed. Nutrition is so important with the giants, more so than with other breeds IMO.
  14. Love bored Willow! What a face. She looks so long in the beach pic, amazing how quick they grow! I can totally relate to puppy yawns too and agree they are the cutest :)
  15. :D I look forward! Found out today, I'm not too late for Sweepstakes at the Royal! But probably too late for Breed. Awesome!!! There is no baby of breed at the Adelaide Royal, they only do minors and up on the breed day. The Sunday is especially for all the baby puppies (ie the cutest and best day to go!) :p
  16. Also Dory I'm trying to swap a shift at work next Thursday so fingers crossed I may be able to make it out to show training then, so the kids can meet :)
  17. Sumo has graduated to free reign of the house at night time too :) No accidents yet! OH got up once in the night last night and found him in the lounge room chewing on a toy, then this morning he was curled up back in his open crate :) So cute, I love that he loves his crate!
  18. That's lovely Lhok, what a caring breeder you have. You obviously did your research well to find them :) It must have been an awful shock for them as well.
  19. Sassy's owners are very good friends of mine, so yes they will see a lot of one another which I think is great :) They certainly remember each other from the litter box! I also have two other puppy owners from this litter on Facebook - his sister who lives in NSW, and his only brother who lives in NZ. Facebook is so good for this kind of thing, and it's nice to chat to the other puppy Mums about their antics, personalities and weights as they're growing :) because my gosh are they growing fast!!! Sharing pictures is nice too.
  20. Could it be the grass or something else in his environment? Are Flatcoats prone to skin issues?
  21. Introducing Sumo - Tai Yuan Just T' Answer (Imp NZL). I'm so excited to have a Saint back in my life! He is without a doubt the most loving puppy I have ever owned. I am very new to showing, but this beautiful boy speaks for himself and on our very first show we came away with Baby Puppy in Group :) I was thrilled. Will have to try for a stacked photo soon.
  22. I don't know anything about Beagles but I LOVE your girl pictured here!
  23. Both are correct :) He was the reserve challenge dog and also runner up best of breed. Well done! And looking forward to new pics.
