  1. Thanks anyway RP, I know what you mean, I have 30 years worth of DogsNSW Journals, but you are doing better than me, NONE of mine are actually filed!!!!!!
  2. A friend in Victoria is keen to find an anonymous article from around 10 years ago, apparently it was a tongue-in-cheek guide to succeeding at dog shows. Can anyone help please? TIA, Jill
  3. I am so hoping this isn't serious......
  4. SOME vets! My wonderful vet would not tail dock even when it was legal. Vets make a small fortune out of cosmetic surgery.
  5. Thank you SO much Megz - for some reason I cannot get the Live Stream...... so very grateful indeed for your post.
  6. Can anyone recommend a really good one-on-one show handling trainer for a friend of mine (not on DOL) who has already had some considerable successes in the Show Ring, but looking for that extra bit of polish. TIA, Jill
  7. http://www.news.com.au/national/south-australia/dog-poo-could-be-used-to-run-lights-at-north-adelaide-dog-park/story-fnii5yv4-1226806294414 Wish I could do this, lol.....
  8. Can anyone recommend an automatic pool cleaner for a pool which is mostly used by my dogs, GSD & Dallies, so dog hair is an issue. I'm in Sydney. TIA, Jill
  9. Thank you both so very much for your input. All will be passed on with my fingers crossed, lol. And good luck and much enjoyment to you both with your dogs!
  10. A friend in Melbourne is looking for good training for a rather hyper (read out of control) young (<12 months) desexed male Dalmatian. Around the Mount Waverley/Glen Waverley area. They are looking at a one day "crash course" with Bark Busters. Enough said. I've tried to explain that you cannot train a dog in one day, but not having much success! Would be most grateful for recommendations of either one on one training (cost is not a problem) or a really good obedience club in that area. Many thanks, Jill
  11. Have been looking at these and cannot work out whether you can use an ordinary mobile phone to track the dog - the unique tracking device which can be bought is quite expensive. Any info much appreciated. TIA.
  12. Brush Farm DTC train at Brush Farm Park Sunday afternoon - or they used to years ago! Have also heard very good reports of Blacktown K&TC, think they train Tuesday nights...... This info should be on the DogsNSW website. Agree that observing training sessions is a very good idea.
  13. Thank goodness there is someone else who has taken the time to actually READ and search the documents in question. There is so much misinformation flying around and so much scaremongering. I am more alarmed by the mob mentality out there than by any proposed legislation. For your own sakes, please read the documents before jumping to conclusions. PS: Thanks Corvus for providing a dose of much needed sanity! I did a search for "kennel", "breeding", "breeding establishment" and "housing" and could not find anything that clearly stated all breeders would have to keep their dogs in kennel blocks and were not to be kept inside at all. The relevant section seemed to be referring to boarding kennels and shelters and commercial breeding establishments. I can't submit a response to this if I can't find any reference to it in the taskforce submission. DogsNSW doesn't seem particularly concerned about the kennels thing. Maybe people should read stuff before they start disseminating information and canvassing for support. Just saying.
  14. Non Sporting Lhasa Std Poodle Great Dane Bulldog Puppy Toy Poodle From a friend ringside with much background noise, so hope I got it right!
  15. Kirislin, now might be a really good time to buy a lottery ticket! So very pleased the eyes have it lol, have been following Pagan's progress as well. Just FWIW, dogs really are amazing, I had a blind dog at one stage, she went for walks like a seeing dog, she was very very special to me. Please give Pagan and Kibie a pat from me.
  16. Dear Megz, Thank you so very much for taking the time to post up all these results. I for one am extremely appreciative . Cheers, Jill
  17. Yes it certainly IS a pain - I love that place, everyone I see with dogs is sensible about keeping their distance and you have such a good view of where any dogs are as well. What a pain! When I trained for an ET in the past it was fine to be there- the staff would give me friendly waves. I assumed that it would be ok for training my dog there next year - so now I am watching this thread closely too!
  18. Sorry guys, but I go to the Regatta Centre to walk dogs frequently, there are several signs saying that biking dogs is not permitted. I even checked with a Security Guard who stopped to meet the dogs whether I could apply for permission, still a definite no....... ETA: Should have said thanks anyway!
  19. Just wondering if anyone who is preparing for the ET, or has competed in the past, can recommend places other than the actual grounds at EP where it is safe (eg no loose dogs) and legal to bike dogs please. Any info much appreciated. TIA, Jill
  20. So glad you added the link from the other thread, I hadn't seen this and I have been literally Laughing Out Loud!!!!!! What a character the little bloke is (they are BOTH gorgeous!), and I think I see some white patching showing on his nose? Bookmarking thread now!
  21. Well said Megan - once again I send huge healing hugs to Cazstaff - no-one can deny this is a terrible thing to happen.
  22. I'm also in this area and would suggest that you contact the local papers - if you feel you can't talk to them, maybe send them a link to this thread. Absolutely horrified that this could happen - I send you huge healing hugs, Buddy would have known that he was very much loved.
