  1. The live dogs come and go from war areas frequently. Them and their handlers are rotated every few months. They have to meet all the quarantine requirements prior to leaving Australia and then once they get back they get their own kennel block at Eastern Creek where they undergo their quarantine. The case of the dog dying would be issues with import permits and disease risk etc.
  2. I entered even though my breeds aren't listed. Fields fall into the "posh" category though...he just doesn't know he needs one yet...
  3. Wow I really like those black ones, might have to invest in a pair!
  4. If its that weekend then there is a cluster of shows at Taree: http://ozentries.com.au/schedule/0810midnorthcoast.pdf
  5. I did read the thread. My question was with no importation, where are the people who breed them getting them from and wouldn't there be a very small gene pool  Maybe I didn't word it right I honestly don't think the people who are breeding them care about the genetic consequences of breeding from a small gene pool. Its all about money.
  6. The matter has already been looked into, its all legal etc. JoLu - please read the thread. I have already stated that yes people are breeding them in NSW. And no there is no importation allowed. Yes sas you are correct - ferrets are not allowed to be imported either.
  7. Wow I bet Julie was over the moon! Hes looking so nice at the moment.
  8. Wow Dillan got BIG! Or did he just get minor?
  9. No need to call AQIS! These squirrels are part of a bunch that escaped from Taronga decades and decades ago. There is a lady breeding them in western NSW somewhere. Macq Pet Shop is not the only place that sells them. To sell they they must be sold desexed and the new owners must get a permit to keep them. So they have not been imported and everything is all above board in terms of legality of selling them - we investigated this matter a couple of months ago.
  10. It was Aust Ch Sutters Greys Anatomy CCD HT (Imp NZ) Way to go Donna & Doc Thanks SW! Go Donna and Doc
  11. China are strict on pet importation. It is 1 pet per person and you must travel on the same plane as your pet. For dogs you must take them to an AQIS accredited vet for a general health inspection within 24 hours of departure. The dogs will also require a C3 and rabies vaccination at least 14 days before departure (and not more than a year prior). I recommend you use a pet transport company as it can save a lot of headaches (mostly mine!!) and they arrange everything for you. If not you will have to arrange all flights etc yourself and lodge a Notice of Intention to Export at least 2 weeks prior. You will also have to arrange to pick the paperwork up from AQIS.
