Good topic as I have been having this problem quite a bit lately in group. Brian has since moved up a class so I'm not in the same lineup as them anymore but once they move up I'll have some suggestions to use! It was so bad that they were baiting their dog literally on Brian's bum so of course he was turning around and at one point they let him have a bit of their bait, which made it worse. The last time we were in together the Steward yelled out for them to move back and give me room which worked, didn't seem to work when I asked

Congrats to Cathy on Best in Show with her Cairn Terrier Gr Ch Joymont Secret Mission!! Also, Runner up in Group 3 went to the very spunky Pointer 'Hiro' (Ch Briella Point Taken) :D I was only there today, the grounds were not crash hot, the group 2 ring needed a good cutting, Poor Missymoo's baby's little legs got lost -
Thanks BB. As usual, I have over reacted My vet can see what I mean but isn't at all worried at this stage she said it is too hard to tell what it is yet and wants to see her again at 6 weeks. I have full trust in this vet as she has been there a very long time and I have been seeing her in forever. Saying that, I think I will take her down to Monash to get things checked out when she is older also, can't hurt to double check I am breathing a little easier now

So what happens now? She was supposed to kept by me to keep my girls like going but that's obviously not going to happen now. I've read about them needing surgery but what age is it recommended? Are they all different or can I hold off until I get her desexed? The boys were bound for show/breeding homes but I assume they would be also better off desexed as I've read it's Hereditary?

My latest litter has 2 dogs and a bitch They are 3 weeks old. The girl has had two funnly looking lumps down near her groin for about the last week. You can only see them when you pick her up and hold her upright. They are squishy and it has me worried about inguinal hernias. I've never had any experience with them, just going by what I can find on the net. Pippa (dam) has had 2 previous litters with nothing like this before. I have been doing some research and it looks like it is either hernias or fat. They are not there all the time and the size changed, they can be just a small rise or quite big lumps. I have an appointment with the vet tonight as I am starting to get a bit worried, will the vet be able to tell me what exactly it is at this age? I've read so many different things that I'm just all confused

I'm near Traralgon and we take ours down to Granite Hill I have used Eastside Bording Kennels in the past when they run by a friend of mine but they were sold a little while back and I'm not sure what they are like now. To be honest, I'd rather drive the 1.5hrs than leave my dogs around here

From what I can remember the Expo has never really had big numbers. Many won't go as the don't like the venue as it's small and full of public people wandering around. I love it and was dissapointed when the stopped it! The shopping was always amazing, I always went home broke!! -
Well done!! What a fantastic way to gain her title

If it's same same place as it was previously held you will need all the normal stuff. It's out in the open on grass. There is a grand stand that some people set up on but last time I seen trolleys with terrified dogs in them rolling down the big steps. If you set up there, please be careful!! I think there was also a bit of undercover space but I would be taking the gazeebo anyway. -
They shouldn't and they wouldn't, how would they? Going by your suggestion, they wouldn't have to enter many shows at all to be up the top. I'm not saying thats a bad thing, just that it wont effect them, it will effect those states with low breed numbers. The fact is, 32 danes were shown in VIC. We don't have 32 Jacks shown in Vic..... EVER, I don't think our Champ shows even had that many entries Yet in Sydney, thats probebly what they get some weekends. People are shouting out to make this fairer for all. Changing the Breed to a certain amount of shows per year will do the exact opposite to many breeds IMO.
-
Just another thought. For the Breed score, some states have far greater numbers being shown than others, is it fare that some states just dont have the breed numbers? Example: JRT's in Vic, at most shows have an entry of around 6 - 10. NSW have 20 or more. If a dog in Vic is a consistent winner but is only awarded 8 pts in the pointscore, it will be hard to beat a dog with a few wins of 20+. Not sure if I'm likeing this idea anymore. 30 shows x 8 entries = 240 15 shows x 20 entries = 300 someone in a state where they have bigger numbers could win with only winning at half the mount of shows? Not sure if I'm missing something or not. It just doesn't sound right that a big winner in breed level in one state can be beaten by a sometimes winner in anther state. The Breed scores the way they are now seems a lot fairer to me. For Group or Best in Shows, I like the idea but not for Breeds. It would be OK for State Pointscore but Nationally I don't think it would work.
-
It would choose the best results (highest scoring) for the 30-40 shows - not nominated shows like a point score. Of course.... It's been a long day That sounds like a good idea. I'll still enter either way, it's a bit of fun
-
I like it the way it is What if the system chooses the 30 shows you couldn't get to that year? I would be happy with submitting your best result for the month or something to that effect, but I'm just in it for fun too. I don't look into it that much
