  1. I used to use the Complete Mix and loved it but found it difficult to get. It seems that Petstock and Petbarn near me both stock it now so I may look at returning to it once i have got through the food and vouchers for food that Jazz won not long ago (and given I feed mostly raw they are going to take me ages to get through!) Congratulations on the win. It is a nice feeling knowing they are feeding themselves for a while. I was stoked with Jazz's food and vouchers for another 60kg worth that she won :)
  2. It was a lovely story, I just had a look at the webpage but tonight's show is not up there yet. Here is a link to the organisation though: http://www.dogsforkidswithdisabilities.com/ I thought the idea of tethering was an awesome idea for younger kids.
  3. Please look into this further. I know a dog that started having similar incontinence issues at about 14 months of age. She was thoroughly checked for urinary and bladder infections and was found to be free of them. The problem continued and her owners insisted on further testing - she was found to have a tumor in her urethra. Unfortunately she also had developed secondary tumours by then and was euthanased shortly after. Incredibly rare, but sometimes things are not picked up with first vet checks and further testing is required. In this case she was given an ultrasound that also showed nothing but it just happened the way they held her to do the ultrasound the vet nurse felt something that didn't feel normal to her. It is highly unlikely that your girl has the same issue and I am not suggesting that she does - just pointing out that sometimes things are not so obvious and should not be dismissed. It certainly sounds like spay incontinence to me. Dogs are naturally clean animals and do not like to soil where they sleep so it is highly unlikely that she is being lazy about it.
  4. I think that is ok as it is fully processed and sealed in a can. The treats that are the issue are usually things like the air dried stuff. But better to be safe than sorry. They have a few treat dispensing items on there that would be suitable: the hollee treat ball, kong classic, kong goodie bone, kong wobbler (these are great value!) and puzzle ball. That should be more than enough variety in a day for a pup! The good old classic Kongs are great as there are so many ways you can stuff them to make them easier or harder for them to empty. Durable non stuffable stuff depends on your dog - mine have never been destructive chewers so my opinion on what is safe to leave will be different to someone else's. Kong wubbas (just the wubba wubba not the animals with sticky out body parts that look easily removed), cuz toys, any of the kong ballistics should all be fairly durable.
  5. No idea what these are like but Catch of The Day have the Roman 2.4 x 2.4m gazebo for $99. Looks a lot like the oztrail compact. There are also tents and sleeping bags on sale as well. http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/smallfish_info.php?products_id=54822
  6. I am liking these stories. This was day 26 from first mating though and they were very obvious, even to me. I have decided to see how she goes and probably x-ray in the last week to check size. When she had her 9 they were all good size puppies even for a litter half that size with an average weight of 360grams and the largest well over 400 so I am worried that if there are only 2 they could end up huge.
  7. These are things I want to hear, LOL. I dont want to get my hopes up for more but seriously she looks like she has more and my gut instinct says there is more. I have seen bitches with 2 almost ready for whelping that barely look pregnant, she is already obviously pregnant. The other part of me says be realistic - they are a repor clinic and do heaps of these and normally quite accurate with their count.
  8. With only 2 puppies found on ultrasound, I can't go as nuts as I was going to but there will be a few things ordered.
  9. So sorry 3woofs Good news from me tonight - Jazz is definitely pregnant. 2 pups seen on ultrasound, hoping there are another couple hiding away but my vet is usually fairly accurate with the count. A bit of a surprise as she appears to be quite large already. Her size is comparable to last time when she carried 9.
  10. My girl has her ultrasound tonight to confirm if she is in whelp and I need new puppy toys so I am refraining from looking until after the ultrasounsd. and then I can use it as a celebration. LOL
  11. Congratulations Bedazzled and it looks like it did it fine style!
  12. Congratulations Leema. Jazz is booked for an ultrasound on Friday afternoon but I am increasingly certain that she is pregnant.
  13. Bad luck Hounder and flatchat. November is going to be a very quiet month by the looks.
  14. Nope not alone. I thought there were some very good photos there, I dont know if I would have called some of them GREAT photos though.
  15. Lovely photos. I agree about the husky photo though, there is something not quite right in that one. I read some of the comments and funnily enough they seemed to think the border collie in classic working mode in a paddock that won was photoshopped? Looks just like a herding shot to me and has probably had no more than a sharpen, crop, colour tweak.
  16. Wow Pockets, what an amazing experience that would have been. Fascinating that the other bitch knew help was needed. We are going through the nervous wait of is she/isnt she. I am trying to tell myself the signs i am seeing are in my head so i dont get disappointed if she isn't. Still another week or so before we can ultrasound. Last time i was unsure right until the day before the scan when i became quite sure and drove to the vet with my husband saying it is so obvious that she is that i dont know why we are even bothering, lol.
  17. Tazar, don't type 4 in the box. Just above that are some buttons and 1 says "quad pack" - select that and then put 1 in the box and add to cart. Doing it that way it will be $54.95 plus postage. I ordered a 6 pack - 1 for home, 1 for the car, 1to give to my parents who go caravaning with their dog and then some for gifts/prizes.
  18. I ordered yesterday, they had an issue with my transaction and called me at about 3:30pm to try and sort it out. Within 30mins of that I had an email to say they were sent. Very impressed with their service.
  19. I'm with Espinay. I know nothing about evaluating the breed but from the bits you posted number 2 seems to be the better fit.
  20. Tassie, brag away! That is a hinge achievement and you have every right to be super pleased and excited. I didn't realise hoe Mich more difficult track and search was. It actually sounds like a lot of fun.
  21. asal, Dancnbcs has a better grip on this than me and will no doubt explain it better but here is my attempt :) Chocolate is recessive to black. So to be choc they need 2 chocolate genese. Dilute is a separate gene that affects the way either colour is expressed. So a black dog with the dilute genes will appear as blue. A chocolate dog withe the dilute will be lilac which is genetically the same as a fawn kelpie and a Weimaraner. I have never heard of 2 different "colour" dilutes rather a single gene that affects the way the dog's actual coat colour is expressed. More than happy to stand corrected - colour genetics is fascinating and confusing and the fact different breeds have different names for the same thing does not make it easier :)
  22. The other thing with the ee gene and inexperienced breeders is it masks the true colour so the dog is genetically black or chocolate etc and the ee gene prevents this colour from showing.
  23. It would depend on the genetics behind the pups. Certainly in border collies 2 black and whites can produce chocolate and white as the chocolate gene is recessive. Puppies need to have 2 copies of the gene to be that colour, if each parent has 1 copy of the gene then it is possible that they will be black and white yet produce puppies that are chocolate. Excessive white also occurs in some lines too. A friend has a beautiful border collie with 2 pale blue eyes and totally white rom his shoulders forward. Not correct but he is a very striking dog to look at.
  24. I coped with 9 for my first ever litter so I am sure you will be fine Pockets. I was incredibly lucky though my girl was an awesome Mum and I never needed to top up a single puppy and battled to wean them as she would jump the fence into their pen to go back with them. I never had to clean 1 either - she managed that too. So they really weren't that much work and the things that took time would have to be done regardless - the whelping box/puppy run still needed cleaning and paper changed, food still needed to be prepared etc.
  25. You will be busy Pockets!! Jazz game me 9 last time and I have told her I dont mind if she is a little less pregnant this time, lol.
