  1. Same - and it does the blacks well too. I recently bought some Kelco Plum White and have been happy with that as well. I understand what dancinbcs says about genetically white and black coats but no matter how genetically white Jazz is, clay still stains so a stain remover and a good shampoo is needed. I can tell the difference when I sue a normal shampoo or a whitening shampoo. Although I never found the Plush Puppy 1 brought her up really well yet I know others swear by it.
  2. Fingers crossed fro you leopuppy. You think 8 months is bad when waiting for matings - try 10 months! Only this time she came in 6 weeks early and it was a mad rush to get her interstate in time. LOL The up side is it is great for performance sports :)
  3. Izzy is looking very pleased with herself too :) And they look like nice chubby bubbas, she baked them very well.
  4. Big Ava looks so pleased with herself :)
  5. I've done this in the past quite a few times...the bitch needs to be bred (first litter and she's not getting any younger) others are interested in the upcoming mating for their own reasons to tie into their lines and I have what they want but it's not my path to follow exactly, Cash litter..yes that's right..and nothing wrong with it...sold the entire litter to pay for a bitch or dog that would be a better mix to my overall long term plan. Dogs were still all up on health tests, registered and such....it's not considered a 'bad breeder' to breed a litter and not keep...there are many other things at play, so implying such a thing is really assuming the breeder is 'out for profit' only, which isn't always the case. Agree with Angelsun here, I bred my first litter with no intention of keeping something. I n my case I am in a suburban yard and can't have too many dogs and wanted to put an extra 18 months or so of age between the 2 youngest but I did not want to breed a bitch for her first time at 5 years of age so I gave her a litter when she was 3. I can understand Dasha's reasons but based on the extra info she has now mentioned on the sire I wouldn't be using him out of principle and if the brother is still a good match and has the same health clearances then I would be inclined to use him if I could nto wait until the next season.
  6. Congratulations goldielover and RIP to the 2 little angels.
  7. If you really want that dog I would wait until next season if you can't get access this season.
  8. Ditto. Or in case they put back a couple of things that I wanted but they sold out of and took down. I can't believe there are people up to orders 4 and 5 though, lol. My poor girls won't even get to play with any of it until it is puppy left overs.
  9. Congratulations Leema. That is a lot of extra weight for a little dog.
  10. I did do that last time! LOL My hydrobath is not set up permanently though so no way will I be wheeling it in and out every day to wash puppy bedding. At the moment I have this other mat type stuf to try and if needed I will try cutting the vet bed down so it is easier to manage. I do prefer 1 piece though. Their "play" area off the whelping box is lino and will also have an area of artificial grass. Last time after a few days when they were using the "grass" area well I also put bedding out there for them and plan to do the same again this time.
  11. There has been a group started on Facebook recently called Crate Exchange to help breeders and rescuers move crates around the country as dogs often end up sent and the crate needs to be returned at some point. So this group is intended to connect those needing to move a dog with those needing crates moved. It is only new and not mant members but could be worth asking on there? https://www.facebook.com/groups/278596058928276/?fref=ts
  12. Another considerate dog having them in daylight hours! I sure hope Jazz is taking note. Congrats Pockets. Any more arrivals? Fingers crossed you are just enjoying puppies too much to post.
  13. OMG, that is so tiny. I would be terrified of breaking them. My littlest was 297grams at birth and my largest 460 and they had all topped 1kg by 2 to 3 weeks of age, lol.
  14. Congratulations PomsNZ and little Ava. Can't wait for piccies. What sort of size are poms at birth?
  15. The kong wobblers are an absolute bargain compared to what we pay over here. Actually all of the kong stuff is :)
  16. LOL Snook - is there anything on there now that you haven't ordered? I am annoyed I procrastinated too long and missed a couple of things I wanted like the squirrel with all the squeakers. Oh well. My puppies will have plenty of wubbas and wubba friends and tugga wubbas to play with. And I'm happy that it has cost me the same in quality toys as it would have cost me for stuff from the cheap shop over here. And these should last multiple litters (those that don't get sent home with the puppies that is).
  17. Sure will Ptolomy. I figured I would happily pay $9 even if it doesn't work. LOL I have another potential use for it if not durable enough for pups and that is at a couple of points along our passage where we have corners. The 2 oldies are starting to slip on the tiles at times, especially if they try and go around the corners quickly. It doesn't look great but we rarely get visitors and if we do then I figure it would be easy to pick up. Bunnings had a few styles of different thicknesses, this 1 is 1 of the the thinner ones but it looked like liquid would drain through it better than a couple of others. I gave it quite a few good firm yanks to see if it would tear and it didn't, there did'n't seem to be much stretch either. I also tried grabbing an edge and tearing it from there and it held as well.
  18. Holy crap Ness! And that was from five years ago! I'd better start finding some stuff for ebay :) Thanks for the heads-up though, much appreciated. I know a few people who have been to Ian McBryde on Salisbury Highway and been happy with the support. http://www.shvs.com.au/staff.html
  19. This is what I had ready for my girl as my mentor always uses this. Does the same method as winpara does. What size is your whelping box? I have two pieces here cut to exact size for the box I borrowed that you are welcome to. Thanks jr :) My box is about 1.2 x 1.2m so probably bigger than yours. I was just in Bunnings have a look around and they had some mat type stuff similar to what Ptolomy described reduced to clear for $9.00 a linear metre. I think it was called camping mat, anyway at 1.5m wide and $9.00 a metre I bought enough for 2 pieces and will see how it goes. If no good for that it may get some use on the tiles when they first get access to them to prevent slipping on them.
  20. Does the marine carpet allow liquids to drain through? That is what I like about the vet bed is that it stays dry to touch and lets liquids through it.
  21. Good luck PomsNZ!! And what a considerate girl your Ava is to start at this sensible hour :)
  22. I had seen that in some of your pics Winpara and wondered how you went with cleaning it. I might go and look into that. With the heat we get in Adelaide, I don't want something that Jazz will be too hot on and I have the heat lamp I can use in 1 corner for the pups if needed (mind you with 36 degrees here today, I doubt it!) Becks - I think the issue is we don;' have a huge washing machine. If the pieces were smaller I think they would wash fine. My whelping box is about 1.2m x 1.2m. Bigger than it needs to be but it was a second hand 1 and I can say with 9 pups last time I was glad of the "extra" space. Only a small litter expected this time so it will probably look huge. LOL.
