Weill there go my food suggestions of sardines or puppy milk. LOL Hopefully you manage to at least get liquids into her with the weather you are having. What about ice blocks made from weak stock of frozen yoghurt?
-
Oh that sounds much more doable than a photo a day. I would be interested :)

Ptolomy, this litter I just did 2 times a day but there are only 2 pups. Last time when she had 9 I gave ehr 3 meals but also left dry out at other times. Some days she would eat and other days she didn't.
-
I only weighed Jazz as I had to have her checked before her first litter due to a stricture that was a potential cause for concern and then this litter we did an x-ray to confirm numbers and size so weighed her then. I wouldn't bother taking her to weigh if I didn't have to have her at the vets for a genuine reason.

I have received an email from Snapfish for 50% of of canvas prints (and calendars, diaries, photo books and drinkware) until January 7. The code is BOXINGDAY.

Oh they look great Huga. Very different and I think your style of photos and processing would really suit it :) I am currently sitting here trying to decide which pics I get put onto canvas. 1 of the conditions was 1 had to be of my beautiful Piper and the other could be of my choice. So I am looking through Singapore photos where we got engaged and went for our honeymoon but I just can't find any that I think are suitable for a good sized canvas.

My husband got me a voucher for Brilliantprints.com.au for Christmas and I have used them before for a canvas for my parents. Not the cheapest out there but the quality is fantastic. Otherwise try Snapfish and they often have specials on as well. They have 30% until Dec 30 with this code: XSPCANVAS12. I haven't had canvas from them but I did get some calendars for Christmas presents for friends and they were lovely.

Stalking/herding Behaviour In Kelpie
piper replied to Mogwai's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I haven't used the look at that game but would if I had a dog that I felt it would benefit. My understanding though, is at the moment they are discussing teaching the dog the desired behaviour. Why would you not reward highly when teaching an alternate behaviour that in the dog's mind is lower value than the activity it wants to engage in? After all you are trying to increase the value of looking at you and there has to be sufficient reason for the dog to choose this. Especially when discussing a dog that has already learnt the fun of engaging in sticky eyed behaviour. At this point of the process it is no different to teaching any other behaviour - reward highly when the dog gives you what you want and then move to a random reward schedule and vary the types of rewards given. -
Same :) I know some beautitful rottweilers. People should see these guys herd sheep - most people have no idea how capable and versatile they are.

Woo Hoo Happy Xmas and a nice even number Our babies are doing well and are so contented. It makes the three I had last time (different mum) seem like 20. Tomorrow its forecast to be 39 - so it will be interesting to see how they go with that. Happy Xmas everybody Good luck with the heat. I found that harder to deal with than cold. The few stinking hot days we had I froze a hot water bottle (not a lot of water in it so it was still fairly flat) and covered it in a towel and they seemed to like laying against that. I also took the vet bed out on those days and used the rubber non slip camping mat stuff (which I wasn't super keen on - it was non slip for pups and Jazz but slipped on the newspaper so was always getting bunched up but it was definitely cooler for them)

Lovely TLC. I bet that brings extra joy to the hospital at Xmas time :)

These are the out takes and why I waited til they fell asleep!!

This week's Xmas pic. \ Urgh, no idea what happened to the colour when I uploaded it? It does not look like that!!

I felt sick watching that. That poor dog. And what a beautiful, tolerant dog it is. No dog should have to endure that. Stupid people encouraging such behaviour

Sounds like they are predestined to be awesome :) They might be, shame about their handler though, lol. I don't remember my last litter being as into everything but then there were also 9 of them so I was a lot busier and spent a lot more time doing things for them like cleaning up rather than just being able to observe and interact. I do think they will have a much better people focus as they get a lot more interaction. My time spent with them is probably less over all than last time but time per pup is a lot more. And with 9, I just couldn't do as much of the 1:1 stuff with them that I wanted to.

Jazz gained around 3kg with her 2 pups however she was very lean when mated and needed a bit extra on her anyway. When she had her litter of 9 last year she gained about 9kg.

I know that I looked at a few to find 1 on Amazon that would ship to Aust. I wonder if it will be on my history there somewhere? Will go and look..... All I can find is that I ordered, not who it was through, sorry ;(. I paid $52.00 though.

I have a blackrapid, just the basic 1. I got it from Amazon, that was the cheapest I could find at the time and plus I had received some amazon vouchers :) I have a shoulder injury and was really struggling with the neck strap on my camera giving me neck and shoulder pain. The blackrapid worn on the other shoulder is awesome - distributes the weight really well and the camera feels so much lighter so no more neck and shoulder pains when I carry the camera more than 5 mins plus it is so easy when moving around just having it at your side ready to slide up.

My pups are starting young. 3 weeks old and they put themselves through a cat tunnel today and checked out a balance disc. Both put all 4 feet on it and the girl even turned a circle and laid down, lol. If I put enough stuff in their run they could train themselves, lol.

Looks like similar variety of shade can occur. The red bcs are like golden retrievers and can be anything from very pale cream where it is difficult to pick the white areas, through to a deep rich golden red colour. My boy should end up somewhere in the middle of the range.
-
They have started having little supervised outside time. Going outside is mentally exhausting at the moment so when we came inside after 10 mins they pretty much crashed exactly where I placed them. Prior to that they had been playing in their pen in the loungeroom and showing no signs of slowing down.

Yes the colour changes a lot. Inititally you could see the white on his face and just around his collar and everywhere else it was hard to pick the line between red and white, it is quite obvious now and it turns out he has quite a large white tip whereas I did think he didn't have much at all. I was wondering if the same sort of colour change will happen with your creams?
