I am thinking the issues you will have are strength and height. This thread about hydraulic grooming tables came to mind: http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/243692-hydraulic-grooming-table/page__p__6026980__hl__hydraulic__fromsearch__1#entry6026980 I am fairly sure the platforms mentioned in there would be strong enough, able to go low enough and you can purchase different sizes as you would probably need quite a large table top for a saint.

I have only used syrups with puppies but I find tablets much easier - they spit syrups out and make much more mess. What about using 1 of these: http://www.trixanpet...tem/pill-popper ETA: It is something they should really work out a method for as who knows when the dog will become unwell and need medication?

Linear Park was going to be my suggestion as well. LBD - many areas all parks are offlead provided the dogs are under effective control.

Home from day 2 - duck day. I had Jazz entered in 1 run on ducks in advanced. I had no expectations and only entered her as we don't normally have many duck runs so I was helping support the club. Well Jazz made up for yesterday and showed she does know how to drive, she overcame the incompetent handler giving her the wrong commands at the start of the course and ended up with a lovely pass on 87.5 and Runner Up High in Trial. As pleased as I am, it also made me incredibly sad. I like to think she worked for Piper today - Piper needed 1 more pass over 85 to gain her herding champ so we dedicate this pass to her.

Not a day goes by where I don't think of you. Today was especially hard. Today I had Jazz entered in advanced on ducks at the trial for the first time. You are the only other dog in the state to have been there. Today Jazz got your herding champ for you - I didn't think she was ready but she was runner up high in trial with that last pass over 85 that you needed. Brought me to tears when I saw what she had scored. That 1 was for you Piper.

LOL - definitely just as well I didn't then! I would tell you who, but obviously I have no idea! Well done Dova - not easy sheep to drive, and hearing what you and Izzi have been through lately you most definitely deserved that 1 :)

Were you at the OES trial in a cowboy hat a couple of weeks ago? I thought it might have been you but didn't want to make a fool of myself by gong up and saying Hi and finding out you weren't. LOL

I will be there too - same day as Superminty, K & K I believe. No idea what day that actually is though. I heard Steph is coming over as well LBD. Are you entered this weekend Dove and LBD? Jazz has 2 runs - 1 each day. Then I am handling her daughter from her first litter in PT on Saturday for a friend and Cinna for her instinct cert. The only bit that worries me about that is getting the 6 month old jumping bean to wait, lol.

Attaching A Gopro Camera To A Dog Harness
piper replied to Lollipup's topic in General Dog Discussion
I have been wanting to attach 1 to Jazz for herding. I think it would be awesome to see what she sees when working :) -
The colours look good to me :) So how many times a week do you have to explain that Reggie is not a border collie?? lol As for the monitors, I think if you search the tips and hints thread there is some stuff in there on calibrating a monitor.

Photographic Equipment As Carry On Baggage On Planes
piper replied to gapvic's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
You could also contact them and find out how extra to add baggage. It may be easier and make life les stressful. No way I could manage a 9 day trip without check in bags even without camera gear as wel, so I am impressed you think you can. LOL -
Grooming Essentials For A Border Collie
piper replied to CollieChaos's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
If looking for Mason pearson. I found this webpage which is much cheaper than anything here and has free shipping. Mine arrived in about 10 days. http://www.sempleand...__from_store=uk ETA: Worth keeping on eye on exchange rate as I found over a couple of weeks there was a bit of variation in price. -
I can't see why lure coursing would not be ANKC recognised if there were enough sighthound enthusiasts behind it. I see it as being no different to the addition of herding for working breeds and earth dog events for the terriers. Good luck with it, I hope it succeeds. Watching dogs do what they were bred to do is fantastic. 1 of my favourite things about herding is seeing that light bulb moment when they realise that they KNOW what to do and instinct kicks in.

What about trying the Coles grain free - applaws? A bit pricier than vip at $30 for 5.5kg -

My heat lamp is a ceramic one so does not give out any light at all.

I have an a580 and love it. I want the a77 when I upgrade. The only reason I went a580 when I got mine the the slt so was so new and I was not keen on buying first generation of a while new system. 1 of the main dog show photographers down here has Sony and gets some stunning photos. Before I upgrade to the a77, I want to get better glass. The sigma 70-200 f2.8 is currently top of the wish list and has been for a couple of years.

I would think that the list could well change in the next 3 to 5 years as well so it is worth looking at dogs you like at trials or training and speaking to their owners to find out more about where they come from. Also some kennels have dogs from quite different lines so as well as asking about the kennel a dog you like comes from I would be finding out the lines behind it as well and looking into those lines and trying to find out about other dogs from the same lines.

Any Opinions On This New Aussie Food?
piper replied to Rosetta's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Sounds similar to the New Zealand K9 Natural freeze dried which I used recently for Piper. A bit more expensive than other super premiums but a lot better quality. I certainly couldn't afford to keep multiple dogs on it but to keep her on a raw type diet once she could only handle small meals and not much bone it was worth it. The K9 natural is something I would use though if needing a single protein food or when travelling as it is so easy and convenient to use. Much easier than travelling with home made raw or VAN as it only takes a few minutes to soak and requires no refrigeration. I would be interested in checking this out for a travel option as well. -
One Man and His Dog if you can get it is brilliant as is Year on the Life of a Working Sheepdog. There was also an ABC series at some stage that I think was on the Trans Tasman competition between Australia and New Zealand. ETA: There are a few available here. Some are training, some are other dog sports but One Man and His Dog and Year of the Working Sheepdog are there. There is also another series Mist which sounds like it could be good and similar to Year of the Working Sheepdog.

How Often Do You Have To Cut Your Dogs Nails?
piper replied to kelpiecuddles's topic in General Dog Discussion
About every 2 to 4 weeks here. The backyard is mostly grass and most of the places they are exercised are grass and dirt so they don't wear them down much. Plus they drive me nuts clicking on the tiles and it makes them lose grip as well so better for them to be kept short.
