Does anyone have the comfortflex collars? I have been eyeing them off for a while and am still undecided but I need to get Cinna out of a puppy collar at some stage.

Way to go Sid. That is quite a big achievement. I helped out with vetting at a couple here in SA some years back. I found it interesting how many dogs had a drop in heart rate and some temp over the 20 kms. It seemed like it should be the opposite but the vet said it is because they are normally excited from the trip when they arrive and then just settle into a rhythm. it didn't happen with all dogs but probably half to 2/3 of them.

Thank you!! Love it :) I have told my husband we are going out there in a fortnight - the first weekend we have had free to get there since getting our membership.

I am fairly sure Para do as well. Possibly Munno Para as well, but I can't say for sure with those 2.

Nice meaty Roo tail/spine pieces are great for this as well. Lots of nooks and crannies for them to work their way into, meat to pull off. I was lucky wnough once to get some sections of lamb spines. They were fantastic as well.

There is. Gawler runs one.

Yes, that was basically Jazz. I think the first being only 10 minutes apart didn't help as there was just no time in between, was barely cleaned and she was already pushing to get the next out. It was an experienced breeder who suggested we gently hold her down and put the pups on her. Amazing to see the switch go on when we did that.

Help Needed Getting Puppy's Ears Unstuck
piper replied to jackofhearts's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I would leave it until much closer to the show. Ears can move a lot in 2 weeks. -
Love her looking on Alyosha. I wanted to capture that moment with Jazz but she jumped out of the box in panic, lol. And before we could settle her number 2 had already arrived. She wanted NOTHING to do with them and I was getting worried that I would be hand raising a large litter and my first ever litter. It was amazing to see instinct kick in though, we convinced her to lay down, held the puppies on and as soon as they attached she knew exactly what to do.

I think my better panda pics have been Wang Wang. When we were there the other week they were in the opposite sides to usual but both inside sleeping. Then when we went back on the way out it was their off exhibit time. We did get to see Wang Wang having a training session but couldn't get pics through the 2 layers of glass and the wire mesh between him and handler. Was great to watch though.

I love Karta When we were there the other wee she spent most of the time sitting there with a blanket over her head :) And I never get the tigers doing anything exciting. Or when they are the window is too grubby to get a good picture or there are too many people around to be able to get near.

Here we go, I just added a set to Flickr of my first litter. There are pics there from when she was in the box and nesting (I forgot just how big she was) through to about 12 hours after the last 1 was born. You can see we ended up on vetbed and then back to newspaper as she had an oxytocin shot and we were waiting for a couple of retain placentas to pass.

Semen Collecting And Freezing In Adelaide
piper replied to steppenwolfstaffords's topic in Breeders Community
I haven't ever used the services, but Noah's Crossing and Adelaide Plains are the 2 that most people use for repro work so I would start with contacting them. -
Frodo's Mum - the shoulder straps are so worth it. I have a black rapid strap and with that on don't even notice the added weight of my new lens (70-200 f2.8) when walking around.

How soon will it be ready and how much per night?? :) I think it sounds like a great idea. Most options I found when looking for accommodation over there were 10 - 20 mins away. I would happily travel the bit extra for the benefit of the additional facilities.

We have just got zoo membership and I can't wait to take my new lens on a trip to Monarto. Hopefully in the next 3 or 4 weeks we will get there. Your pics of the baby are gorgeous, I love that 1 of her at the glass :)

Decision made - I ended up with the Lowepro Flipside. I decided to stop in at Harvey Norman when I drove past on the way home today and have a look. They happened to have it there and a sale on. Camera with lens attached, 2 other lenses and my flash all fit in the Flipside 200. Not that I will often carry everything in it but good to know if going away I can :)

I just posted in another thread that I have recently come across www.camerastore.com.au and had awesome service. They are the online leg of an actual store in Adelaide. Full Australian warranties and excellent service and prices. Shipping costs are quite good as well - $16 insured courier shipping for purchases over $50.
-
I think it depends on the insurance company. We have had a situation where we were basically given a store credit to go and use, and it didn't have to be for the same item. On another occasion we were just sent a cheque to do with as we pleased and no proof of replacement was required. Like Huga said - get the best you can afford. And if you have other Nikon equipment then I would stick with that. Unless of course you had been considering changing brands in which case it would be a good time to do it. I have recently purchased a lens from this place http://www.camerastore.com.au/digital-slr-cameras/nikon-d/nikon-d5200-body-only-black.html They are an online arm of an Adelaide based camera store (Diamonds) but much cheaper than the store. Full Australian warranties. The service was brilliant, the lens had been on back order so they called me when it came in to confirm everything and check if I wanted it delivered anywhere else eg work. It was 4:30pm when I was able to call them back and they managed to get it to a courier that afternoon to be delivered before lunchtime the next day.

The only stores I can easily get to don't have a very good range of bags unfortunately Unless of course you are after something for a very basic kit or compact camera.
-
Thanks. Fastpack 350 is the other main 1 I am considering. I think the 250 is not quite large enough for the 70-200 attached to body. Looking at the specs the 100-400 lens is actually not as long (which just seems odd, lol) I am still seriously thinking of an insert though, then I can put it any suitable bag. The positives I have read on doing that is that is doesn't scream "expensive camera equipment stored here" like some of the other bags do.
-
Thanks. That is 1 of the 1s I have been looking at so the feedback is good :)

So I got my new lens. I love my new lens. But it is a BEAST. No way will it fit in either of my camera bags attached to the body. Given that it will be my most used lens (mostly take pics at herding trials and dog shows) I want a bag that will let me leave it on the body. I really don't want to have to take it on and off every time I pack up - especially at herding where it can be very dusty. Does anyone have any suggestions of suitable bags (I am thinking back pack but open to alternatives). The other thing I have been wondering about is those camera bag inserts you can get to put into other bags, like this: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Ciesta-Flexible-M-Camera-insert-Partition-Padded-Bag-Case-for-Lens-DSLR-SLR-/260915595185?pt=AU_Cameras_Photographic_Accessories&hash=item3cbfc807b1&_uhb=1 Please suggest away :)
