  1. One bottle of pink food dye into 2 litres of water......and dry carefully, especially if using a blaster!!
  2. This is what pink food dye looks like!!! I will upload a pic of the finished & dry poodle!! Whoops didn't mean to make it soo big!
  3. I teach Animal Studies @ TAFE & I have had one of my Std Poo's helping me all teach this week! I love it & They all looove coming to work with me, time alone with Mum Also has a great effect on the students....but it always amazes me there will always be someone scared of dogs!
  4. Friends of mine are going to get a dog and are doing the breed consideration thing requirements are minimal hair- smooth coated breed or non/low shedding are happy to clip and brush a couple of times a week but high shedding double coated breeds are out medium to large (not giant) breed easy going- dog will be obedience trained and must be child (over 10) and other pet friendly (as they have rabbits etc), also needs to be able to cope without walks every day of life any ideas? :D Sounds exactly like me 3 Std Poodles Except I don't brush them a couple time a week :p .......maybe once a week.......once a fortnight ;)
  5. Its good you friend is made of "tuff stuff" ZZ.....she needs to tell someone to take a "flying leap" Black Bronson....well said I have a litter of pups nearly ready to go & yes we have questions.......but nothing like those demands ;) .....No wonder people go to pet shops! Vaccinate....yes...obvious! Diet....I give them a diet sheet of what the pups have been eating....then its their choice....as it becomes their pup. Vet......again their puppy! Some of mine are going interstate!!! Kids.....if trained are usually the best puppy trainers Desexing.....this is the stressful one for me. As my breed is the biggest part of an "oodle".....I am most particular about getting the pup desexed, unless it has been sold for show home. If any of my babies going that are going to pet homes, go from an "ugly duckling" into a "beautiful swan"......I will be very excited & encouraged & thinking WOW, I am achieving what I have set out to achieve........breeding a beautiful poo Yes....I worry & stress about where my pups will go, but placing all those restrictions is not going to ensure a more loving, caring home....which is all I want. Maybe I am a bit to simplistic....thats just me
  6. I wouldn't be suggesting leave her in a room and let it happen! I have 8 healthy (& pooey ) 5 week old Std poodle puppies her today, but only because I was there when she began whelping. She was a maiden bitch & when she began contractions, she leap out of the whelping bed box whislt I was on the telephone & delivered the fisrt pup under my bed & just left it there ....not ideal I know. She only broke the last 2 pups out of the bag....when I showed her the first baby she looked at me like "what the hell is that!!! I didn't do it!" I would be keeping a very close eye on her. When the contractions start they are hard to miss!!
  7. It is not a French Poodle....they actually originated from Germany! It not a king or giant Poodle.....its a Standard Poodle! And lastly.....no it is definately not a Labdradoodle Argh!!!
  8. Teamsnag your pics are gorgeous Will try & find some Std Poo pics.... .I have one of my girl dyed bright pink?
  9. We have 3 Std Poodles, 1 crazy lilac oriental cat & 1 chocolate Burmese (at the moment ready to pop with kits!!!) who both live inside. My yougest poo is no probs with the cats.......but the 3 dogs together & the chase is on! "Sticky beak"
  10. The current trend I see is for something with a "cute, trendy or different name" Unfortunately these are oftn found in petshops in big shopping centres & impulse buys are a result. You only have look at some recent TV programmes to see where these stock of "oodles" are sourced. There is no regard for the health or socialisation of the mum & pups in the conditions that they are kept in. I realise that I am probably going to be shot down in flames......but I am passionate about my breed & I have taken great care to ensure all genetic testing has been done prior to the mating which has resulted in a much wanted litter of babies I have now (19 days old!) I have nothing against cross breeds, but I do about those people in the middle that are creating "oodles" for liitle testing, and care where they are placed..... & then being sold at a ridiculous $$
  11. I feed my lot together outside, give them bones all at the same time. They get more than one bone.....a bag that is scattered around the balcony. Only differ when they are puppies. The dog will only guard the resource if THEY consider it of value.........food is no biggy for my dogs, but hey they are Poodles :D Resource can also equal..... Toys Bedding Water Fav sleeping spots and the one my dogs place most value on Attention from the Owner.
  12. My husband has always called our poodles "hairy humans"

Need some detail of what exactly - if dry food, which one, if raw, what it was Dry....Eukanuba/Science Diet How often was he fed? Once daily or more? 1-2 dailyWas his bowl elevated, or on the ground? On ground What was he doing when he bloated? (ie, at a show, at home, playing, at home alone) We had only been home for 2 days. Prior we had been away for 10days. Whislt away she was attacked by another dog I was minding. She then refused to leave the house for the petsitter in the presence of the other dog. No Did the dog also suffer GDV? Yes Did it have surgery? YesWhat was done to relieve the bloat? Surgery to decompress the stomach as a tube was unable to be passed!......even though I had been at the vet surgery for 45mins!!!!!! Needless to say that word.....Bloat.... is a scary & very expensive word here.

  18. If you puppy is travelling alone, you will pick pup up from Air Freight, which is great as don't have to enter the terminal or pay for parking. I have collected pups from Mascot. You enter & drive around the large carparks. Keep driving until you see large compound, Air Freight collection, you need to you drivers licence in order to drive in & park. Then wait for you bundle to off loaded and driven around from the plane for collection. I would suggest finding out if you keep the crate or if it goes back to the company. The breeders I bought from also sent a rug & toy that had been in with Mum & the litter for comfort. I didn't take food. But I did have someone else to hold & administer cuddles while I had to drive 90mins home
  19. No poo entered for me this year. But I will be there on Easter Sunday with my BURMESE :D ....so will wander over to check out wants on with dogs!!
  20. You need to be persistant when using this drug. Your vet will most likely start on a low dose, then step this up in 2wk increments. You will not see instant results, it takes 6 weeks to reach theraputic levels in the blood. This is where humans often go wrong, they give up after a couple of weeks. Once they start anti anxiety meds, 6mths is a good trial. Behaviour modification (training) is also a necessary component. If your vet doesn't do this ask for a referral. Good Luck! I have used these on a cat & dog.....they were great on a whinging destructive Weibana & a urine spraying burmese
  21. Its the pits when someone camps right on top of you!....It has happened yo us too, 50km gravel road drive in the middle of a state forest .......acres of space & they set up 25m away from us We always take our dogs camping. I use a XXLcrate in the tent for nite time.( not sharing my bed with 3 sandy poo's ) and I use a large Xpen during the day. If I had to tether them they would drive me nuts.
  22. OMG.... ....Thought it was just me, that I must have let something slip.....Im a bad mother! Yes we were invaded, I was blaming the cats (even though they live inide!) Switched from F.line to Advantage gave all a capstar and sprayed the crap out of the carpet with exelpet carpet spray. I felt like putting a flea collar around my sons ankles.... ....the fleas love him!
  23. Sooo glad my lot don't shed....... Nothing warmer than a fluffy poo ;) Sheet is only there for sweaty husband ;) Not fussy about chairs here....
