  1. I am appalled that people think it is ok to sell a dog that doesn't belong to them. Regardless of motive. Who said anybody was going to sell the dog. If this bitch goes into a pound or RSPCA care and is not put down the off spring will be sold along with bitch herself.
  2. Wouldn't matter to me if she were 8 months or 8 years, my offer would STILL stand. The assumption that money motivates my offer is somewhat distatsteful to me. Perhaps read my offer again. I mention PLACING puppies....not SELLING puppies. I also mention giving the girl a forever home if she fits in here.....finding her a forever home if she doesn't. Nowhere is money mentioned. Greytmate, not everybody had an ulterior motive as to why they would care for a dog. Most of us have over the years and received nothing but the satisfaction of helping.
  3. Have the dog de barked and the problem is solved for good.
  4. But I'm not far wrong am I? Just nod your head, you don't need to say anything! :D I'll whistle you point.
  5. From the deffinitions section of the Dogs qld rule book, I new I'd seen it somewhere. “Exhibition” includes any Championship Show, Open Show, Parade, Endurance Test, Earthdog Test, Field Trial, Obedience Trial, Obedience Sweepstake, Tracking Trial, Agility Trial, Herding Trial, Dances with Dogs, Flyball, Puppy Match or Training event, assessment event or any other canine activity approved by the CCC(Q). Good luck with that. Generally anything that is decreed by the CCC(Q) is different to every other State in Australia. For some reason the CCC(Q) and Vic Dogs think that they ALWAYS have to be different to every other state controlling body. I'm not saying a word, I''m not saying a word. I am just going to add what "ellz" has on the botom of the her page. Lord, please keep your arm around my shoulder........and your hand over my mouth!
  6. What ever you don't use tea tree oil. It has been know to have very adverse effect on some dogs. Try aeroguard. This is well proven with dogs in especially in Queensland for stopping green ants biting. Also great to stop licking.
  7. At the moment we have so many changes to rules and regulations. What's more they are being aired so publicly. These so called rules are usually just sprung upon us. I am starting to wonder if this just a smoke screen to keep us all busy while something else is going on far bigger. Maybe we should all be digging deeper to find out if there is.
  8. I only feed raw with a small amount of dry. No need to cook for dogs I believe they do better with raw.
  9. Actually...what you should put here is that it SHOULD cost you nothing! I'm afraid that Qantas/AAE here in Tasmania are very prone to making up their own rules on the day, depending upon who you get booking the puppy in at AAE (dogs don't go through the airport for excess in Tasmania, they go through freight). Aint it the truth.
  10. I have fed Natures Gift in the past (I now have 5 dogs and it dosn't come in big enough bags) and am currently feeding a mainly raw diet with Uncle Albers added. I found both to be good products and alot more affordable than the so called 'premium' dog foods. All of my dogs are doing really well on it and seem to enjoy it, although my little dogs did seem to prefer Natures Gift. I was curious to know how the little dogs go on UA or GB, I had some samples sent out to me not long ago. My boy is still a puppy and only 5kg, so he had trouble with the kibble size, but I'm hoping once he is fully gorwn he will manage well, as it seems like a great food. How big are your little guys? I have Whippets and Italian Greyhounds. The Italians cope well with Uncle Albers.
  11. Want to add, those that honestly beleive a bitch in season shouldn't be shown either due to a risk of infection....I would love to see documentation on this...in ALL the time I've been showing, and showing bitches in estrus...I have NEVER had one of them pick up anything..however..I HAVE had bitch puppies with vaginitis or similar who have never been outside my own yard and are 3-5 months of age.... The arguement of a bitch in season with the alleged 'open cervix' amuses me all the time. As mentioned...females both human and otherwise continue to mingle with their own, subject themselves to possible contaminents and yet seem to handle it quite well. I don't think dog's on heat should be shown for the same reason you are not allowed to trial them. they distract the boys. I think you mean bitches in season. I show dogs with bitches in season and have never had a problem. In some cases it has been a distinct advantage. Train your dogs better is my only solution.
  12. Most of the larger Australian made dog food companies are all overseas owned. Not all overseas made dog food is irradiated. If you want to know if it is, ask the company.
  13. I don't understand why people would buy an Australian product over a better quality imported one just because it was made in Aust. It just doesn't make sense to me. Especially if my dog did better on an imported one.
  14. Any chance of getting the male de sexed before arrival. If not, with NO papers tell her she could be breeding brother and sister and just leave it at that.
  15. May I please ask why it has to be Aust. made ?. There are plenty of good quality import foods on the market that would be considered by some to be better than the local product.
  16. I use three to 4 caps full for a whippet. When you read the label you will see that it is virtually impossible to overdose. When I say over dose I mean that it will harm them. No use giving more than is needed. It is also available in tablet form so I have been led to believe.
  17. Yes, it is Chlorophyll. I usually start it just before the bitch is due in season. It works better on some than others. Obtained from the local health food shop.
  18. Thanks for that There was me believing what I had been told, that these sporting lines had been bred out.
  19. Well said and I agree completely. We are slowly losing any ability to make decisions about our dogs or a breed, but isn't this what PETA wants? No more breeders/purebred dogs or pets at all? Food for thought..perhaps it's not RSPCA flag that is flying at Dogs Vic, but a PETA flag...... The Batemen report recommended that all dog activities should come under the banner of one independent welfare group and people who I had conversations with including some responsible for the pedigree dogs exposed issues are pushing for us to go that way. In other words an outside group which would dictate what we can and cant breed , what breed standards are acceptable and what breeds should be made extinct etc Im not going into how likely I think that all is but I think there are a lot of politics being played out behind the scenes in the dog world. Id also be interested to see a copy of what Sylvia powers address to the recent puppy farming meeting with the RSPCA and rescue groups in Victoria was. True and while we bend to this dictatorship we will be our own worst enemies.
