  1. If I had a puppy or adult like this I would be asking the vet to check for worms first. It might just be a very obscure type of worm causing it. Some worms are known to be more virile in some areas than others and climate can play a big part in it to.
  2. Steve your post is excellent and I believe every word of it. I honestly believe that until we have a United Dog World this intrusion of our Dog World will continue. I believe that until we have a powerful United Dog World fighting for us and on our behalf we are doomed. We hear of the infiltration of Animal Rights Liberationists, from what one hears from the some of the individual State Bodies one would think this has not already happened in some cases. I have no idea how we can fight this when we have little or no support from the controlling bodies in some states. These State Bodies should be the bastion of the dog world united or not. Until we have Dog People fighting for the rights of Dog People, not people appointed for their business prowess or for some other reason we haven't got a chance in hades One can only repeat United we stand Divided we fall.
  3. . A small one of those would look great on my Italian.
  4. Now that you know that, would you let your husband use your toothbrush? :D Yes I would, as long he hadn't used it to clean the loo first.
  5. I know of a little Italian that didn't turn up because of the rain. This is not good showing Italians weather.
  6. I don't find advertising dogs at stud at all offencive. Plenty of us do it. Just go and have a look at the DOL advertisements.
  7. I use Dogtainers for all my work. http://www.dogtainers.com.au/ask.html
  8. My Mother-in-law came from a similar cultural background. She never "got it". When her old dog was in pain and was ready to go to the bridge, the vet even came to the house to try to convince her to let him do it! THAT is how bad it was! In exasperation I asked her "WHY?" "Why won't you let the vet do the kind thing for your dog" "He's even left his busy practice to help you out here and not many will do that. Why?" Her answer? "I love him too much." Yes- everyone in the family was saying how the loving thing was to put him put of his misery - they had said it before I even got to that point. But she still insisted it was because she "loved him". Kindest thing seems to be the council option. I am just the opposite. I love them too much to let them suffer.
  9. I don't have breeder contracts. They are not worth the paper they are written on. The only way you MIGHT get a legal contract is to get a stat dec. To me it is sort of like locks.......they only keep honest people out.
  10. All I can tell you is that some years ago when when puppies were vaccinates at 6 weeks I remember the vet saying to clients .....I have found a murmur in this pup. When the breeder came back for the second vaccination the vet would often say...didn't we find a murmur in one of these and then say well I can't find out which one it is now. Some puppies are just a bit slow in this department, so it would be advisable to wait till the pup is checked at a later date.
  11. Firstly puppies should not be vaccinate until 8 weeks so the pup would not be vaccinated. Secondly in most states in can be against the law to to sell at this age. Thirdly if the breeder is a registered breeder their ethics are non existent. Personally I would run a mile.
  12. Yes Brisbane Royal was always my sign/time to watch out for snakes from then on. Also a good time to check and do any maintenance on your in ground snake systems.
  13. During the American Civil War/War of independence the dogs that followed the camps for hand out were seen licking the wounds of soldiers that were badly infected and the doctors noticed that those that survived their wounds were the soldiers that the dogs licked. It is entirely up to the individual if you wish to follow suit.
  14. That's what I meant. Like a washing machine, but hydro baths don't have hoses like that. Well mine doesn't. I have a twin tank heated one and just fill from the tap or a hose attached to the tap. Permanently plummed in you couldn't remove it.
  15. I saw a weed killer at Bunnings. It was a gas fired one. It attached to a wand and you obviously light it and use the heat to kill the weeds. Dead in seconds. I did not see it alight but imagine it would work like a blow torch. Absolutely no problems with the dogs ingesting anything with this method. As the weeds are all green at this time of the year there would be no risk of fire.
  16. I could not agree with you more. Why people use dog parks is beyond my imagination. Dog Parks to me are disasters waiting to happen. To prove my point just read all about them on DOL. JMHO
  17. Of course we all encourage people to show and have fun. But we don't encourage you to be fool hardy with a dog in the hands of a child with an incorrect bite. It's hard enough to win with good ones let alone take one into the ring knowing it had a problem.
  18. Just give them a ring and ask. I would be doubtful about it.
  19. Hi, I am not sure what you mean about permanently plummed in. Do you mean having it plummed in similar to your washing machine ?. If it was in permanently and it broke down how would you remove it for repair.
  20. I would be one of the toughest old birds around, but there is no way I could watch that. When they are caught I hope they throw the book at them.
  21. Do you really want to take on this poorly reared puppy. The consequences may be great.
  22. Go and have another read you still missed out a word.
  23. I wonder why? . Been there done that. All the best for the little one.
  24. See if there is something suitable in the classifieds on this list it's under clothing.
