  1. I can't see there being any available for some time or until the Government/Bio Security order more. As far as I am aware there is some about, it just means finding the vets that have it. Maybe some of the authorized vets that do the dogs for overseas when vaccination is required, may have a bit left. Better still, maybe ring the Quarantine stations in your state, where applicable.
  2. Summer is generally ever 6 weeks. I clip mine down weekly. It depends how much you can look after their coats. If you want them short through summer best invest in some clippers. Get a decent pair and they will pay for themselves instead of 2-3 salon clips. Summer over six weeks. Well it may be where you live but what about Queensland and the other states. Summer can be over six months. Every 6 weeks. I missed the 'y' off the end.
  3. I am not sure but have always been told that the Government controls all of the Rabies vaccine here.

Dogs are better left with the coat on where possible as it insulates them from the heat.
  5. Are you sure the is not just bileing it's self out.
  6. And how does the regular puppy buyer know to do this?? None of my friends even know of 'registered' or 'papers' 'limited' or 'main register'. It's not common knowledge so for a Joe Blow puppy buyer to go the extra length to sus out the background of the breeder is not the norm either. Well Clyde it appears people come on here and complain quick enough. Why don't they come onto the list and ask before they buy ?. We would give them good sound advice as what to do. The advice people get usually involves buying your pup from a "registered breeder" as one of the most important things they could do . If they then find a registered breeder in the list on a site like this, they feel confident that they must be OK. If someone came on this forum and asked if a particular breeder was also a reputable breeder, could they get inside information? If a breeder sounds honest and believable (and they must do when selling a pup) people tend to want to trust them. When things go wrong and the breeder ignores all communication then people get worried then angry. While most ofthe replies to puppy buyers concerns are helpful and positive, there is a tendency for some to sound defensive of the breeder and almost blaming the buyer for "not" checking enough or not giving the breeder time to get things right. It only takes a minute to call someone back and reassure them. That's often all the buyer wants and needs. The next time they hear someone recommend buying their puppy from a reputable registered breeder they may put them off the idea after their experience. I know breeders must have to deal with more problem puppy buyers than the other way round and most on this forum sound like they try very hard to do the right thing by both puppy and new owner but it's a shame when the wonderful experience of bringing a puppy into your life is spoiled by worrying about having bought from the wrong breeder just because they stop communicating when there's a problem. To find out if the breeder is financial all you have to do is ask for their current membership card to be sighted. This will also have their Prefix on it. I offer all new buyers this privilege and the phone number of my states controlling body should they wish to check.

  8. Maybe you should have told us all this in the first place. My only advise would be to contact the person to whom you spoke to at Dogs NSW in the first place. Anyway the breeder of your dog may just re new their membership along with their prefix and all will be ok.
  9. Reduction in weight is more necessary than exercise. If it were me I put the dog onto a weight reduction dry food and half the intake of what is recommended by the manufacturer. Only when a serious weight reduction has occurred would I exercise the dog. When this starts I would start to increase the food intake to the manufacturers recommended intake.
  10. That does leave those exporting with a worrying problem then. Yes it may pose a problem for those exporting. Now it will depend on where the dog is going. If quarantine regulations have not changes for USA it should not be a problem. When I last read those (yonks ago now) the dog could be done by the new owner in the states. Many times it was said it was better to have them done there because of all the paper work involved and their state laws. The rest of the world could pose a problem though.
  11. So sorry to hear of this predicament but you should have done all this finding out before you purchased the dog. Your only redress is that if the breeder does not renew their membership is through the legal system.
  12. I heard it on the news and the announcer said South ?????????? some where. I have forgotten but I did take it to be somewhere in South America or South Africa. Evidently an exceptionally bad out break.
  13. There has been an out break of Rabies and all the vaccine available has been call in for urgent use which has left Australia and New Zealand's stock sadly depleted.
  14. Are you sure it's kennel cough ?, or could it be from the irritation of the tube being down his throat during the operation.
  15. This is a difficult one. I would ring Conmurra or there distributors and see what they have to say. http://www.hydrobaths.com.au/index.php?pag...rt&vmcchk=1 The above page will locate a local distributor for you. You may also have the auto fill model.

  17. Sorry don't know what you mean. I just plug it into the socket fill with water and witch on the power and turn on the hydrobath. If it has a thermostat select the temparature you want.
  18. De sexing contracts are not worth the paper they are written on.
  19. a well measured effective campaign will have very little dirt Things have gone to far already, the way to get headlines and peoples attention is sensationalism. You need hard hitting impact.
  20. The only way you will ever get your point across is to have a news paper and T V station backing you. The media is about the only way to save our situation. If you have a solid media backing with the dirt they will be able to rake up you won't lose. You have to fight fire with fire.
  21. I just go and by any nut and bolt that fits the hole.
  22. Quite right shortstep...... people............be careful what you wish for...........
  23. OK, OK, for all you people out there that think it is wrong to breed for money. Have I got news for you. If you think it's wrong to breed for money go tell the farmer that supplies the meat you eat that it is wrong of them to do so. All farmers of any consumable foods that it is wrong. As far as I am aware nobody eats the dogs I sell. What is wrong in breeding any animal and asking to be paid a fair price for it. Breeders do a lot to fuel the economy, just think about it. Veterinary fees, Food bills Petrol Car purchases, The myriad of dog associated paraphernalia Registration fees, Registration fees for Kennel Club This list could go on and on. Take all breeders out of the equation and where would you be. We as breeders give a lot to wards the economy of the country even down to the over night accommodation that we may require to go to dog shows to prove that what we are breeding is good enough to win anywhere.
  24. You never said a truer word. People out there isn't it about time you stood up for rights and let the public know about these, to Quote Steve " Animal Rights Rat Bags."
  25. Yep sure. And the breeders of the not popular breeds actually give pups away and really, I cant see how they can manage to keep going. Comes back to what Steve said about passion for it. Yep, for the love of the breed and to try and breed a better one next litter.
