  1. Well if its not to be shown do the teeth really matter ?. Many people purchase pups like this as pets. I can not see that there would be any problems. :)
  2. Are you purchasing a main registered pup for showing or are you purchasing one as a pet/companion ?.

  4. Probably because most breeders Showdog (and I) know don't vaccinate until 7-8 weeks vs the old 6 weeks. I also do not vaccinate or micro chip till 8 weeks.

  6. Just so we know that we can offer you help is this dog an ANKC breed registered dog ?.
  7. Not unusual for breeders to de sex between 8 and 9 weeks. The RSPCA de sexes from 6 weeks. The only way breeders can be assured that the pups are not bred from and do not end up in a Puppy Farm or in a Back yard breeding situation. Many breeders are not happy about doing this but it is the only way to get peace of mind and stop the pup from ending up in a bad situation should the pups circumstances change. De sexing can also mean Tubal Ligation in some cases.
  8. Reviews mean nothing to a dogs stomach. I am afraid it's trial and error where a dog is involved. Most of us will tell you that you feed a dog what it does best on. Give VIP a try and see how the dog goes on it. Yes, I use it and I am satisfied that the dogs are doing well on it. I can't guarantee that all dogs will do well on it. Just remember what we all say, if you are changing over to a new food do it slowly so as to not upset the dogs stomach.
  9. There are not a lot of true hairless about these days. Some that you see are shaved to look hairless and that can be a lot of work to keep and maintain the dog in that state. Some are what are called hairy hairless and grow coat all over their body. Maybe you may want a Powder Puff but it will also require some grooming to maintain the coat. All the best in your search. :)

I would suggest that by your description the dog has Tape worm segments. Worm with a Tape wormer. If the dog has fleas this is where the tape worm is coming from. Get rid of the fleas and worm and you will get rid of the tape worm. Fleas are the host for the tape worm.
  11. Not at those prices. :) I just had one fly from South Aust. to Bris. $160.
  12. This is one of the problems, the "general public" expects breeders to have pups 8/10 weeks old, ready to go at ALL times. What do you say? "Yes I stick them in the freezer and thaw them out on request!!!!!!!!!!!" No JRG ........ We take them out of the freezer and thaw them in the Micro Wave.
  13. Could be - but I would hope you're not buying a puppy off one of them! If you have ANY doubts that the pup is coming from someone who puts money above the welfare of their dogs, stop the purchase now. Otherwise - what the breeder recommends is the ONLY way to go for the first 2-3 weeks, until the pup's perfectly settled in your home. Only them have a good hard look at the pup - is s/he healthy, growing well, no skin issues, no poop issues? If everything is fine then no reason to change. The best food for any dog is the food it does best on. Royal Canin is widely regarded as a premium food - made one of mine horribly sick and another refused to touch it. Black Hawk is widely regarded as a premium food - made all of mine podgy and smelly. I feed Bonnie Working - widely regarded as a cr@p food. Raise pups on it, my adults get it - they are all sleeky, muscled and 100% allergy and itch free. Personally I would recommend Nutro or raw. Agreed. No one dog food suits every dog. You feed what your dog does best on. This may take time and error.
  14. They do all my shipping and I wouldn't change for the world. Along with many from this forum. Wayrod people. You did e mail through the link that was provided that took you to the site I gave you ? Try this one as I think the other may not be working . http://www.boardingkennels.com.au/transport_12.html
  15. Don't send it all back just a portion there of. Keep some as a control just in case the sample should disappear.
  16. Exactly.....and then the coat becomes brittle and then breaks off leaving a very patchy dog.
  17. Contact Wayrod on this list or contact him on this addy http://www.boardingkennels.com.au/transport_12.html
  18. Please do be careful with sort of thing. The scratching and shaking can and often does turn into a haematoma. A large blood blister like swelling than may appear on the ear. If this happens straight to the vet. Lets hope it has stopped and was a one off thing. :)
  19. Cannot see how this is very relevant to the issue at this point in time. It does not matter if the dog is from a large recognised kennel or small. Main register or limit. Or even byb. The fact is just simply the dog has been xrayed and one vet has indicated HD/ED. I think the fist point is to verify this initial diagnosis. I think it is important to let the breeder know - however I also think the best thing is to investigate the initial diagnosis and maybe present both sides to the breeder so they can work through it if it is verified. If it is nothing, then why bother the breeder in the first instance? The only difference between registered breeders is may be is getting some insight into any genetic issues within the line - registered vs unregistered. Just being registered does not mean a breeder is ethical or they will support the puppy buyer. Even good small breeders hip/Elbow score. Even dogs with perfect scores can produce HD puppies. HD/ED is also environment. There may be a genetic predisposition to the disorder and environmental factors can influence severity and when it shows. It may make a big difference if the breeder is not a registered breeder with their states controlling body. It won't make much difference to the dog but it may be more helpful to new owner if they had some course of redress.
  20. Is the breeder of this dog a recognised breeder registered with your states controlling body ? and does this person hold a recognised prefix, if yes, what register is it on. ?.
