  1. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. It is never an easy thing to do. Run happy and pain free little girl.
  2. Oh heavens we are all upset for you, here have a from me to. I say better to go a little bit early than far to late.
  3. It may help if you could tell us bit more about her. Just saying she has fantastic lines and colours is not much help. Is she registered on the main register and do you hold a prefix so the puppies may be registered. Who owns the stud dog you, or are you traveling to the dog. Maybe a stud master needs to be contacted. Have you had her prog tested to find out where she is in her season. Her breed would also help as some breeds can differ in their behaviour and sometimes need a different approach. Some bitches may mate on their 3rd day and others at over 20 days.
  4. I am not going to disagree with what other have said. But I have reared 4 siblings together with no problems. Possibly the breed and housing conditions would make a big difference.
  5. I use Uncle Alber's and find it great. Not all foods are satisfactory for all dogs. I show my dogs and the two bitches have both reared pups and are in great condition. I also do feed mine pet mince from Lenards at $1.50 a KG. Maybe the addition of some pet chicken mince may help.
  6. It's not the taste of human blood it's the reward from exhibiting the behaviour. If he learns to aggress to get what he wants he will keep doing it. Sounds like balls out may not be a bad start but needs a good behaviourist too. +1 It may what we call learned behaviour. Always remember we have people problems not usually dog problems. The owner needs to severely correct the dog.
  7. Could be worth while putting the dog onto heart worm prevention if the dog is not already on it. If it were me I would keep the dog confined at night.
  8. It's perfectally normal to have line bred pedigrees. Always remember that dogs that live a natural environment breed together. Dogs that break away from packs and meet up 12 months later breed together and may be brother and sister. Also remember that people have bred that way to. Just go and read your newspapers and read about the many cases of incest and remember their is nothing wrong with the children. By all accounts they are leading normal and happy lives. Even in closed communities it takes many many years of close human breeding before the problems start to appear.
  9. Possibly a large tongue in a small muzzle. I have an Australian Champion who does this and their is nothing wrong with her. Some just do it more than others. She had a friend that did it to. Both of them are happy healthy dogs.
  10. Actually I am far more concerned about the lump on the nose. The lump MAY just be the cause of the sneezing and should be looked at as soon as possible.
  11. Hi All, I do hope the little might is doing much better with all the advise given. I have found after discussion with vets and breeders around the country the milk re placers may almost be breed pacific.(sp) I find that Divetelact is great for my sight hounds but when rearing a sent hound although it did alright on Divetelact, it did better Wombaroo. I find that this is not the reverse with sight hounds. I am not happy with home milk formulas as I believe that they do not give the full range of nutrients that a baby puppy requires. Maybe we could all put our heads together and form a list of what we believe that our individual breed do best on. It maybe a great help to persons in a similar situation.
  12. Thank you very much I have just ordered some.
  13. So sorry to hear of your little dogs predicament. I would suggest to try another vet and see what they have to say.
  14. If it's any help I start Whippets off at 6 weeks.
  15. If my memory serves me right I believe Werribee were trialling something like this about 25 years ago. The trials stopped for some reason. I left Victoria and never followed up on the their progress.
  16. Yes, made me look to. OP are you sure the dog had two litter within six months ?.
  17. +1 A correctly coated Pom will not require rugging.
  18. Hi, If you are living in a town house situation why not look in the Toy group for dogs suitable to live with a Maltese. Some of the dogs suitable would Tibetan Spaniel,Papillon, King Charles Spaniel, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel just to name a few.
  19. +1. I would be more concerned about feeding of the dam compromising the vaccination than chewing bones.
  20. Just a thought. You said you had cut back on some dry food. This food just might the cause of the dogs energy levels. Some people find that some dry foods cause energy rises in their dogs. Some of us think it is more likely to be a strange allergy to the the particular food they have been feed. In your case just cutting back on the food is enough to reduce the energy levels of the dog. Often the foods we feed can be a trigger to some behaviour problems.
  21. I really do feel for you, a most unenviable situation. I would speak to the neighbors politely and advise them if the dog came in again you will be forced to ring the council and advising them of the dogs escape from it's property and to come and remove and impound the dog.
  22. Does that include expecting a completely uneventful trip to the park? Not if that's what you're expecting. I seriously think everyone is a little off the handle today... lol is it a full moon? all the crazies are coming out. I am going to take a bex and have a good lay down
  23. yep ... totally agree with you on that .... many losers will use it as an easy excuse I also agree, its either "face judging" or the judge is "completley hopeless" only time they don't comment on the judging is when they win. That is so true.
