  1. My final reply would be to these peope....how will you feel standing up in court being held responsible for the poor quality dog they have bred. The vet on the owners side proving that the dog had hereditary problems.
  2. If this has ever happened to me I just pack them full of vit c any old tablet form from the supermarket. You can not over dose. Always works wonders for me or others that I know of.
  3. The best way to get the flyer's out and not aggravate car owners is to give the club a donation and get them to put the flyer in your numbers envelope.
  4. It is not easy to bring in a breed for the first time and the criteria that has to be met plus the interpretation of the standard especially when it is in another language. Just ask the Podengo and Xoloitzcuintle people.
  5. These are not new breeds just breeds introduced into Australia from of other countries by enthusiast's of that breed. All of them are registered breed's recognized by the ANKC.
  6. I agree with Stormie. So sorry you lost your dog to an allergic reaction, not nice. These things do happen just look at the people that are sensitive to some things so we just can't rule it out in the lives of our animals. I was reading somewhere the other day of the complains that Frontline was not working and this article said Frontline is working, but the flea infestations in some areas is so bad that as it kills one lot of fleas another lot is just jumping on and most owners think it is the same fleas. Yes i know, how can we tell what flea is what, but it does sound to be a feasible explanation to me. This may be the answer to why we are hearing so many conflicting stories as to why it is working on some dogs and not others. For my dogs I use Regents 200 for fleas it is a Fipronal based product that is used to spray crops and Bananas. As it is 200 and the Friponel that is used in Frontline is 100 I break down the one I use down 50/50 with pest oil. I use the oil because I find it sticks to the dog better than other products such as water, metho. Once, I used Olive Oil because I had forgotten to buy the pest oil, which you can purchase off the supermarket shelf. Don't be fooled by the name Pest Oil, it is just a light oil that you may mix with water and spray the plants in the garden to get of the bugs, hence the name Pest Oil.
  7. I have just copied this from the standard. Do you mean Phalene Ears: The ears should be large and mobile with rounded tips, heavily fringed, set towards the back of the head far enough apart to show the slightly rounded shape of the skull. The ears must be completely erect or dropped. When the ears are erect they must be carried obliquely like the spread wings of a butterfly, therefore the name, Papillon. When the ears are dropped they must be completely dropped, and this type is known as the Phalene (moth).
  8. I always start my puppies on raw mince and then slowly introduce soaked dry food by mixing it into the mince. Has worked for me for many years. As the pup increases in size and age I then introduce chicken necks.
  9. Unless they are both pure bred registered breeding stock or both top show dogs why are not both de sexed.
  10. I use it all the time. I have to use a product like this because the area is so large. I find it is the most effective way to keep the weeks under control in and around the fences. Never had a problem with dogs and I sprayed about two days ago. The only other suggestion I have is to spray with petrol, now that stops weeds in their tracks.
  11. Seriously Clyde, I feed my top wining dogs Uncle Albers. You feed what suits your dogs. Let the OP try and see, then if it is not the food for Horse they can change. I suggest that most people learn to read the formula then make a judgement. We suggest that a product with grains well down the list of ingredients may be very suitable. Also people remember we have many dog lovers on limited incomes and can not afford to feed a product in the $80 to a $100 price mark and still have less weight in the bag compared to other cheaper brands. Also many dogs live very well on many products that you or I may not think of purchasing.
  12. Woah!!!!!! you have rats. Have the dog tested for Leptospirosis. It can be caught off rats.
  13. Same here. Do mum one day after each fortnightly puppy worming (starting at 10 days)and I use drontal for puppies and mum. The syrup is useless. My thoughts exactly the only difference is that I first worm at 14 days. I am not sure if the days we each prefer make a great difference, the most important thing is that you do worm them. Could be that I am not up on my puppy worming schedule.
  14. Well we have a real live sensible one in you don't we. If you want to lean about dogs go purchase the breed of your choice from a registered breeder and go show the dog. 15. This brand of dog food may help Horse put on weight in conjunction with raw foods. Uncle Albers is great Dog Food that is very economical. It does not contain great amounts of grain but it does help in dogs gaining weight. Here is the ingredients list. Please note that cooked cereals are different from adding raw cereals. Please I am not a scientist I do not know the exact formula but have alway been told that animals can digest it far better and get more nutrition out of it. INGREDIENTS Uncle Alber's is formulated from a selection of the following ingredients. Cooked meat or meat by-products derived from beef, lamb, poultry or pork. Cooked fish or fish by-products. Fat, cooked cereals and wheaten bran. Products derived from canola and soyabeans. Lysine, methionine, antioxidant, bentonite, vitamins and minerals. 16. Hi, I know you said that that you have had blood works done, but have you had a T5 Thyroid panel done and sent it Jean Dodd's at Hemo Pet in The states. Could be worth a try. You never know what she may come up with.
  17. Hi, Welcome to the world of Dog Showing. To be able to show your dog in Queensland you must be a financial member of Dogs Queensland and your dog must be on the main register. I would speak to your breeder, they will be able to fill you in on all details. Good luck with your showing.
  18. Vaccinating against Kennel Cough will not stop the dog getting it. There as so many strains of it you can not vaccinate against all of them.
  19. Dogs are flying out of and into the states on a daily basis. I have one coming over soon and have NO fears what so ever. Mine has to get from the East Coat to the West coast before shipping starts. Contact Wayrod on this list I am sure he would be happy to talk to you.
  20. Live in Tas and see how hard and expensive it is to off the Island. Only 2 ways Plane and boat. Planes come in "most" days in the morning and go out at night, low and behold if the plane is not full it does not go. Also you have to find a flight that can take dogs on it not all provide for dogs. If you live in the South you have a trip North to catch the boat and that is not cheap if you have a wagon and if you tow a trailer it is a lot extra. You may purchase a cabin at extra cost or pay the fee for and use the air plane type chair for overnight sleeping. You also have to buy your meals they are not included in the fares. And don't forget you pay the same on the way back.
  21. capanash, we don't get numbers for breeds and groups like you do. No body will know the numbers entered till they get there. We can send two envelopes to Agi shows one to say they received the entries and one for the numbers. Most club shows you only send an envelope to be sent back to let you know the entries were received. We collect our numbers at the show.
  22. Are you sure the dog does not have a hearing problem. Does the dog react to other sounds.

    Dog On Table

Sounds like a normal whippet to me, it's called counter surfing. Growel, yell and slap the bench top and make out if it does it again it will die. LOL. When down then reward for being good.
