  1. Just realised that their breed is being judged at Brisbane Royal today so you may have wait to get a direct answear from them tomorrow, :D and yes they did go BOB.
  2. email Jon or Cheryl (owners) at the web site and they will soon tell you. :D
  3. Why don't you charge more for your puppies then? Because you can ASK all you want for the pups...but the average buyer will go to those unpapered ones advertised in the paper, without breeder back up or health testing, simply because they are cheaper...after all.."we only want a pet" Charging more, doesn't mean you get it...unless you add 'oodle' to the end of the breed of course. Lets face it charging more does not work. If it did we would be getting much more for our pups than we do now. The public see things and then they go along with it. The oodle thing was just so popular. Just look at the publicity they were given. We as breeders of pure bred registered stock are never given that kind of exposure. We were given the......you breed to much.......you have to many puppies........we also went through the Don Burke problem.... then came along the Tail Docking issue where we were seen to be bad cruel people. Many things go into our sales problems of today. The Animal Libbers have to take the blame also. All we can do is to fight back with more pure bred health tested puppies. Not only that we have many breeds that have no health testing requirements. No DNA markers. Some purchasers get hung up on health testing. I have had arguments with purchasers who have been advised to only purchase health tested stock. Now it may be highly unlikely that I may ever breed another litter of Whippets but in this running breed along with the Greyhound we have nothing to test for. We have people who come on lists like this one and learn a "LITTLE" then go off and tell all and sundry that "ALL" dogs should be health tested. Heaven knows that English TV programme has done us so much harm. Because now many of the public think that we are all tared with the same brush. The public have no idea that the breeders in the UK don't even have to be members of the Kennel Club in fact you can't be a member over there because they only allow 50 members and that's by invitation only. When in this country we all have to be members of our states controlling body and standards and guidelines set out for us to abide with.
  4. You could always add more meaty bones to their diet.
  5. I'd tell her this. What makes her think the dog is good enough to advertise at stud. The people that tell her the dog is good are not judges or breed stalwarts. These are just people that THINK the dog is nice. It could be a dreadful specimen of the breed for all they know. We have plenty of top show dogs that have had all their testing done that get very little stud work. If she thinks the dog is so good tell her to go and show it and get a title on it to prove that the dog is good enough to go to stud. Then she can advertise the dog at stud once all the necessary health tests are done. She also needs to be a financial member of states controlling body to sign a stud certificate and show the dog.
  6. Click on amateur fruit and wines and look for canine and click on that. Then white swiss will be the first breed so click on that and then look for the breed you want. Thanks for that I am not real good with these computers.....although the Jam results were interesting I'll bet they were...
  7. Not me Just cross posted from another list with permission as it appeard to need more clarification.
  8. Yesterday I became aware that "Seat Restraints" for dogs travelling in motor vehicles is a LAW here in NSW - at least. As such, all dogs travelling in a motor vehicle MUST be wearing a body harness that is attached to a seat belt, or be secured in a dog crate. Failure to do so, can and will result in "HORRENDOUS FINES! Recently, a gentleman was pulled over for a standard "breath test," and when doing so, he had his two pet dogs happily riding along on the back seat UN-RESTRAINED! He was fined $440.00 for EACH DOG! That is right... A total of $880.00! If you feel this is not believable, then may I suggest you either phone the "Kirrawee Family Pet Hospital Ph. (02) 9521-6422 and ask them, or go into their clinic and see the two receipts for the fines that are attached to the reception desk. Further, if your anything like me, a) you would not have been aware of this law, or b) you would never have imagined how costly the fines are (I'm sure it's not that much for a person passenger not wearing a seat belt!), and c) will ensure in the future that you don't find yourself in the same position, because you were oblivious to the fact. Welcome to cross post, and I suggest that people living in other states may want to check out if they have the same law enforced.
  9. Click on amateur fruit and wines and look for canine and click on that. Then white swiss will be the first breed so click on that and then look for the breed you want.
  10. A chiropractor would be my first port of call.
  11. To the vet needs antibiotics.
  12. Is the dog marking inside or just peeing inside there is a big difference.
  13. Bump for those that did not know a link was available
  14. Pardon the pun Ohhhhhhh, for Gods sake.
  15. Who knows, could even be a cross bred of some sort.
  16. what a load of codswallop. I agree completely. If a pure bred ANKC registered dog turns up in a pound and it is rare that they do, they are the first to go to new homes.
  17. Depends on the breed and reason you are breeding her.
  18. I would suggest that you attend a show at the Durack Showgrounds, 247 King Avenue Durack. Just go in through the entrances and find a parking spot. Just go for a wonder around and ask if you don't know where to find a breed. :D Sunday 21st Aug. there is a show being held with two speciality championship shows for Toys and Terriers along with a championship show for all the other groups. Starts at 9.00am Come along and I am sure you will enjoy yourself. There is also a canteen operating should you wish to purchase some lunch.
  19. I believe it has nothing to do with how many a year. To me it is the quality of care you can provide. If you can provide adequately for one litter a year so be it, but if you can provide for 25 litters of pure bred registered dogs, that are capable of holding their own in the show ring, and the rest are found caring homes so be it. (Sorry I live in a world of pure bred registered dogs).
  20. Sorry, but your dog should not be jumping on any children. Correct your dog.
  21. Correct. Brisbane you never fail to have the worst results page of any Royal.
  22. http://www.ekka.com.au/animals/competition-results.aspx I wish you all well trying to use it.
  23. I just use the frames not a whole meaty chook.
  24. Hi Ron, Yes, I think this the product that a friend used and finds excellent. I was hoping to be able to by pass the everyday job of putting it in the mouth. Thought adding ProDen to the food may be easier on both me and the dogs. Looks like we are finding lots of products that may be able to help with the never ending tartar problem we have with SOME dogs.
