I purchase the red outdoor flood lights complete with their socket and attach it to a pole attached to the corner of the whelping box. It's socket/bracket can then be angled in any direction. It gives off great warmth is cheap to run and inexpensive to replace if the bulb should it blow.

I think we all ordered from the same place. I sugested to let the company know, as they may have been able to advise customs and discuss the matter on your behalf. They are the ones that want to sell the product here. It is to their advantage to be able to discuss the product with Australian customs and get their product released.

Just another thought this may apply to wire crates not enclosed ones.

Never heard of this before

I have had two lots through. No problems.

Ring them ask what the problem is. Also ask them how come the Troy company is bringing it in as the Australian distributor. Just had a better thought e mail the company in Sweeden and tell them what's happened.

I would highly recommend Craig Murray www.dogschool.com.au

I use an alumimium Metro purchased from the States and it's still going strong after about ten years work. Plenty of room for large cans and plenty of pockets for sissors and such. Also has two small compartments for things and lid loops for storage of leads.

Best Brush For A Short Smooth Coat?
oakway replied to trinabean's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Zoom Groom for me. -
Maybe the owners didn't have the photos done.

I use the out door red flood light. Gives lots of warmth and easy on the pups eyes plus mums. I just attach the lights socket to a piece of wood and attach that to the whelping box and you can direct the warmth where ever you want it.

first thing I would is to cut out the the chicken wings and necks. The wings are very fatty the necks are not as bad for their fat content.

Purina Bonnie - Anyone Have A Feeding Guide?
oakway replied to pipsqueak's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Please there is no exact guide to feeding a dog with dry food or any food for that matter. Each dog is an individual and some require more or less due to there metabolism or activity. What is often written on the side of a bag is a guide line only. -
Just to help out a little, the vaccine is starting to work the moment it enters the body.

I vaccinate as close as possible to 8 weeks and use Nobivac C3 that has 36 hour turnaround. I just try and do what I believe to be the best for the pups.

Purina Bonnie - Anyone Have A Feeding Guide?
oakway replied to pipsqueak's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Why don't you do what the rest us do....feed by eye....if the dog looks over weight cut the food back. If the dog under weight feed more. -
Personally I wouldn't be vaccinating a litter at six weeks. Hernia or no hernia.

Its hardly a spoon at all. Such a tiny amount that you use.

Well the dogs have been on PlaqueOff for 2 weeks and so far so good. I have no problems with this product what so ever. It is early days yet and no Plaque can be seen on the dogs teeth. I did clean the dogs teeth before starting this product so if any plaque appears I should be able to identify it straight away. I have not cleaned the dogs teeth since starting this product. Cheers all.

Will Tomorrow's Show At Castle Hill Go Ahead In This Rain?
oakway replied to scolly's topic in General Dog Discussion
It would be very rare to put a Dog Show off because its raining. We usually show in all weather. I do believe their is a number that you may contact it may be worth while looking the NSW journel. Have a great day. -
I am already govened by Dogs Queensland why would you want more. We already have laws that govern these things, again why would you want more.

The call has already been made. The dogs are banned in most States and all that's done is make them attractive to the kind of knobs who think owning a dog most people are frightened off is "fully sic mate". Profle the owners and the way they raise their dogs folks.... you'll find the owners have far more in common than the breeds of dogs involved in fatal attacks of this kind. I was trying to be polite and not enrage the owners of the breed and start another us verses them discussion over Pit Bulls. If you want it in cold hard words here it is. Always remember you are dealing with the Australian Public not the Dog World. If something is not done to curtail this type of event ever happening again, I can see in the near future a TOTAL ban Australia wide on the breed. I believe it could include total eradication. This ban may never come from me or you (dog people in general) but will come from the Australian public. Please remember I have not denegrated the breed in any way what so ever. I am only relaying what the average Australian is saying.

Unfortunately this type of attack is becoming more frequent in Australia and many of these attacks are of the Pit Bull type. Now wheather these are Pit Bulls, direct crosses or lesser dirivitives of the breed it always seems to lead back to the Pit Bull. Now this is anobservation only, we can have dog attacks, but it is becoming more apparent that with this type of dog, the attacks are becoming more frequent. I have always said that WE have owner problems NOT dog problems, but with this type of dog that been bred specifically for fighting, we may just have an animal that maybe predisposed to attack when not under full control. I can see in the not to far future that a call will be made to ban any dog with a Pit Bull heritage.
