  1. Yes, and I agree with you. But......If you are an ANKC registered breeder you will know how some breeders can attack and if some of those Prefix's named run (when it is no faulf of of their ethics in placing the dog) we may just lose them. At the moment in the dog world we need bums on seats. I also believe that there is nowhere the ammount of ANKC registered dog in the pounds as we are led to believe. Great discussion topic S S M.
  2. And what good whould that do. Lets say I sold a dog to a lovely couple and the dog had a great home. Now if they were killed in a car accident and family were not interested in the dog and disposed of to another party and they inturn got sick of the dog and passed it on also, then it ended up in the pound. Why should my Prefix be published. That would make me look like I had placed the dog in poor circumstances, when indeed I had placed the dog in a loving home.
  3. Vapourise yourself and Bamboozle the dog. ??????? (all said tongue in cheek).
  4. I thought that was the case, depends on what state you live in. I really have not taken much notice of a rule like this as I usually don't show in whelp bitches, but may often take them with me to a show. (not heavey in whelp) I just wish we had one set of rules that covered the whole of Aust.
  5. The ruling if there is one may depend in what state you live.
  6. Where was every body else going to park their car and/or trailer . There must have been some place. ??????. Was a diagram of where to park missed out of your envelope maybe?. Write a letter of complaint, I would.
  7. I used to park at Flemington racecourse and walk back in through the horse area. Has this option now gone ?.
  8. Hi, Nobivac is a brand of vaccine that has a factory here in Aust. at Bendigo. They have a full range of vaccines. It is advised that puppies should not be vaccinated before 8 weeks. The reason is that bitches pass on anti bodies to their pups and these anti bodies can stop early vaccination (6 weeks) from working. (see previous post) There fore if you take home at 8 weeks a 6 weeks vaccinated pup and if the anti bodies stoped the vaccine from working it leaves the pup open to catch what it should have been vaccinated for.
  9. Water containers are usually only used for International flights. The only exception would be in very hot weather and if the airline allows it. as others have said contact Wayrod.
  10. Yep, absolutely correct. You may do a back to back mating but not a third.
  11. Yep correct. Any smoked bone is a cooked bone.
  12. They sell them to make money and for NO other reason. Makes me mad when when I see them on display. They really are a dangerous thing to feed to dogs.
  13. Congratulations. Nothing better than a case of all's well that ends well.
  14. This is being discussed on another list at the moment. There is SUPPOSED to be a move a foot to be able to exempt Toy breeds that only have one pup in a litter to be bred more. (possibly those breeds that are supposed to have very numerically small litters) To the best of people's knowledge that have been discussing this it is just a thought only at this stage.
  15. Hi Darkrai, The problem is that many puppies that are vaccinated at 6 weeks may still be open to Parvo. We now know it is wiser to wait till the pup is approximately 8 weeks of age. We also have heard of cases where the pups are still nursing off their dam at the time of vaccination. We also know that some bitches still produce antibodies that cause the vaccination not to work. We now have a vaccine that will over ride the bitches passed on immunity. We also know that we may just find a puppy that you can not vaccinate their will always be an exception to the rule. Seeing as this case in particular has been brought to the attention of breeders I would be following the guide lines to the letter. Also I believe that when dealing with ethical breeders this situation may never have arisen in the first place because most of us would have been horrified at the situation and said bring the pup back for a full refund, end of story. My personal thoughts on the matter are Don't vaccinate under 8 weeks Take the pups off the bitch at 6 weeks so there is no further access to the bitches milk. Or use the 10 week Nobivac vaccine that over rides any immunity so the manufacturer says. Nobivac say that their vaccine has a 36 hour turn around so until we have manufactures that can match this I will be sticking with them. (we may have them I just don't know of them) Also having a manufacturing plant at Bendigo it means it is easy for me and you to sit on their door step should anything go wrong. The case quoted appears to more of a vaccination problem one than skeletal one but as Wazzat Xolo has said our pups are considered goods and are treated accordingly. When we warn people against vaccinating at 6 weeks maybe this is the case we should all be quoting just to make sure we are covering our own back sides. Cheers All.
  16. I am so sorry to hear about the little fellow. RIP little puppy.
  17. Another much larger than I ordered ProDen has come through Customs in the last few days. This product is just amazing me. Still NO plaque on the front teeth. Yes, I gave the front teeth a quick wisk with a tooth brush yesterday and they are pearly white still.
  18. I am so pleased that you posted that. I would like to be able to see it posted on the front page of every news paper. Might just wake up a few of these back yard breeders up as to what can happen. Dare I say it.....it may also wake up a few registered ones.
  19. I am so pleased that you are keeping an open mind on the matter. All of us will only do our best to help you. Sorry Huga didn't know you were aware of the procedure my apologies.
  20. providing the breeder registered the pups in the owners name and not their own Yes - that's what I was going to say. If you are still in contact with the breeder, get them to arrange the transfer. The OP does not know who bred the dog. Even if she did know who bred the dog and the breeder followed the correct procedure and transfered the dog to the purchaser, there is nothing the breeder can do. The transfer can only be done by the person that is named on the registration papers.
  21. If the dog was transfered to the person that you got the dog off all they have to do is give Dogs Queensland a ring 32522661 and tell them that the papers are lost. They should have to get a stat dec to verify their clam and pay the relevent fee to Dogs Queensland and new set of papers will be issued to them and then they sign the back of the registration papers with all your details and and they pay the fee and post them to Dogs Qld and Dogs Qld and they will issue you with a new set of papers in your name.
  22. The person to whom the dog is registered to needs to contact Dogs Queensland and explan the situation. Dogs Queensland will then advise them what to do.
