  1. My Peptosyl was white but came from the chemist not the vet. I was just concerned that you may have been given scourban instead of Peptosyl.
  2. I won't use a whelping box without them. :) It depends on what type of rails you have fitted. Round rails I find the pups stick their head through and get caught when older and now I use the solid rails with no problems. Also depends where the rails are positioned for the individual breed. Now I am not being critical here, but why was the bitch not up on her feet and investigating the crying ? I only ask because the slightest noise and my bitches are up on their feet investigating. Could the bitch be tired after whelping and be in such a deep sleep that she didn't wake. Hope you have solved the problem because no breeder wants this sort of problem.
  3. Scour ban is pink. Could that be the product. Has been off the market for some time but is back on now.
  4. Yes, my vet recommended it years ago but it was for a young puppy.
  5. Spray the plaster with Aero guard. If you are worried that the product will compromise the plaster bandage the plaster. If you see the dog chewing spray again. Keep this up all the time.
  6. Firstly I would like to thank you for coming on and asking first. So much more sensible than asking after you have bought one. My suggestion would be to attend some dog shows and see what you may prefer that is before your eyes. You can always strike up a friendship with some of the breeders and be guided by they have to say. Best of luck in your search.
  7. Just remember to take out a good insurance policy.
  8. Agree.........you pay for the use of the dog. If you get a result that's even better. If you feel you need a special clause in the stud agreement speak to the studs owner and put it in writing and then stick to it.
  9. Agree with H Whippets. Might be wandering on its own.
  10. If you read my post you will notice she was clipped into the seat belt, not loose in the car. The issue was she is usually in her harness (which clips on her back) when she leaves the house but due to her healing wounds she was in a martingale collar and this one thing allowed her more range to move and she was standing on the arm rest with her head out of the window after I had stopped the car. Normally with her harness this is not possible. Lesson learnt for me. I finally spoke to the dealer and the back windows do have sensors and are supposed to reverse the window going up if they encounter enough pressure. So I'm hoping that is what really happened and that whilst her head was out and the window was tight it was stopped at that point and not increasing in pressure. Still, it wont ever be happening again with my dogs! You asked and I told you what I do. I never referred to what you do. Also my dogs are in crates at all times, yes even the day one went to the vet with a broken leg. :)
  11. I never allow a dog to be loose in the car with the windows down. Your are asking for eye injuries if the dog sticks its head out of the car or should try and jump out. A dog restrained within the car yes, but never one that is loose.
  12. His owner told me they're not recognised in Australia Thank you for that.
  13. I have looked all through the ANKC site to try and find the breed standard for this dog. It appears as though it may not be a recognised breed in Australia, unless the registration of this breed may be pending. Can somebody help in this matter.
  14. The vet knows what their taking about amputate the tail. The tails were removed in the first place because of this happening.
  15. I would like to congratulate DOL for their generosity in their donations to the Caboolture Kennel Clubs Spring Spectacular Championship show. My Italian Greyhound Australian Champion Oakway Gold Escort won Best in Group and received a Blue Ribbon Membership Gift Card. Thank you so much DOGZONLINE.
  16. Without seeing the dog it may be a double dapple. copied the standard for all to see. All colours permitted but no white permissible, save for a small patch on chest which is permitted but not desirable. The dapple pattern is expressed as lighter coloured areas contrasting with the darker base. Neither the light nor the dark colour should predominate. Double dapple (where varying amounts of white occur all over the body in addition to the dapple pattern) is unacceptable. Pied, tricolour and the dilute colours isabella and blue are highly undesirable. Nose and nails black in all colours except chocolate/tan and chocolate dapple where they are brown.
  17. The vets appear have done everything and he is in the best place for now. After all that, I can't see any of us second guessing would be of much help. But you never know somebody may have the answer. Just hope the little fella gets better and saves you and himself all this stress.
  18. Not sure what you mean...what is not used Sorry, overseas chook and similar is said to carry heavy loads of nasties that may effect the thyroid. :)
  19. Then we could all keep our pets under lock and key so they can't get out. :)
  20. May be used in other countries but we are consistently being told NOT used in Australia. ???????.
