Definitely NO calcium powder. Feed chicken wings or necks. No, we feed our dogs chicken frames and mine weigh far less than a cav.

Well I am going to take a different approach to this. Before anything further is done I would ascertain that this bitch is of a quality to be bred with. I think you said she has not been shown ?. If she has not been shown how do you know the dog is of a quality to be bred with ?. Most bitches are usually only bred with after a successful winning show career. What we purchase as young stock sometimes may not even make the grade as breeding stock. I would be making sure this one is of suitable quality and getting a second opinion from an orthopaedic man before I did anything further. :)

Yes we all have enough sense to put them on timers. :) -
Have you spoke to the appropriate minister in Canberra ?. Is this because you have inported in large quantities ?. Have you got onto the your News Paper and your Radio Station on a talk back programme. ? Many years ago I mported a large quantity of dog tablets, I just paid the import licence fee and all was well.

Oh what a bummer, it would have made things so much easier for you.

Have you considered flying the dog to Sydney.

Yes it may have been vaccinated and I am so sorry the dog died but the breeder may have vaccinated the pup at to early an age. If done at 6 weeks it may not have been effective. It is now known the that vaccinations before eight weeks does not always work. :)

What you have to say is this, What Colour What Sex Please hold while I get one out of the deep freeze and zap it in the micro wave for you.

If they died it quite possible they were not vaccinated against it. If the dogs in question have been vaccinated they would be in the very low risk factor.

.............and this is what it has cost so far for people to be able to camp at Durack. It is of some interest that the total cost for having the first application lodged and approved, including Brisbane City Council fees, admistration charges and Town Planners costs, was over $29,000. And this is just for the process of approval of tent camping.

I think now would be the time to start using it to stop a build up of plaque on the teeth. :) I agree totally. For those who read the post where I questioned as to whether Plaque Off would rid the dog of tartar/plaque from underneath the gum, I emailed Proden with the question. For information sake, this is the answer I got : Hi, I think it was great of them to reply as quickly as they did and the thing that impressed me was the honesty in their answear.

Dog News Australia if you wish to follow dogs in the show ring and other Australian topics concerning dogs. Available at your news agent or look on the home page of DOL.

I agree.

What you are describing MAY be a yeast infection that is made worse by the dog being on the wet lawn from dew. The dog gets wet feet then licks them and starts a yeast infection. The only way I can control the infection is to put the dogs effected onto the product Angel Eyes and after a couple of weeks on this product the problem disappears. It will often come back if the dog is continually allowed to lick it's feet from the wet grass. Please be aware this may not be your problem but it can be in some cases.

Of course you do pet. Like now? At 1am?? *chortles* Hmmmm no If I get a certificate it goes into a pocket in a zippered file with all of my important dog stuff. However if I chose to do it at 1am who cares. If I can't sleep I may as well do something. Just because I am organised, no need for the attitude. + 1

Good question Erny Anyone here that may be able to help. By the way I forgot to say that an old fashioned metal nail file is a handy object for removing tarter from dogs teeth. So if you have mislaid your scaler you can always try the nail file.

Staffordfan just tell them the product is available in Australia on the open market. It is distibuted by the Troy Company. Also tell them they do this on a regular basis and then it is always released. Ask if the product in future can be marked on their computers as already available in the country. Go higher up the chain in the department. You could get your local member involved. Is this the the Brisbane customs or customs in your local area. You could also ring Canberra and speak to the minister in charge.

I purchase mine from the vet.

I use ivermectin to heart worm my Italian Greyhounds and Whippets. If used at the dose rate of 1ml per 16kg it does all worms. This does rate is the one the vets recommended. I would not recommend it for any group 5 dogs unless a sensitivity test to the drug was done first.

I think you are feeding them to often and they are just not hungry. Also do not feed cooked chicken mince as it is full of bone. Always remember that the food that is offered nowadays if of a higher quality in nutrition (in my opinion) than what was offered yeas ago. I only feed pups at the most three times a day. I feed as much as the pups can eat for breakfast and remove what's left. Then at lunch a mere pittance, then I repeat the breakfast quantity at night. I found following this regime I didn't have the backward eaters I used to.

Exactly, because YOU believe it would be difficult. That's completely different to somebody else saying, "you should only have one breed because that is all you can do justice to"...... I get very tired of people who insist that they know best what another individual can cope with. Agreed fully....well said..... It's the same as those that comment on litters born....more than one a year makes someone a puppy farmer....some think more than one every two years....I've seen (and done myself) three litters in a year, and had no issues...just how things went....two or three years before the next mating took place. Guess I"m a puppy farmer? Now hang on a minute the pair of you. :) You are taking what I said out of context. Errrr Oakway.....YOU hang on and don't get "huffy". Take a look at the date of my post (16th March), look back through the thread and you will see that you have already replied to my post.......obviously Angelsun is just coming into the thread late ;) Nobody is speaking about you "personally"....my point is that each individual should know what they can reasonably take on. As they should in ALL facets of life. I daresay there are some people who say that certain others aren't doing justice to the breed of their choice, even if that individual thinks they're doing just fine...let alone do justice to second or third breeds. But overall it is a CHOICE people make and nobody has the right to tell them that they "shouldn't" or "can't" do something, provided they are able to manage physically, emotionally and financially and their dogs are not in any form of distress for any reason. I am not angry or huffy :) I really thought that the both of you may have misunderstood what I was trying to say. I was just trying to make sure that you both realised that I have no objections to persons having multiple breeds. :)

I don't care how many breeds anybody has as long as they give the appropriate care. I don't care how many litters any body breeds as long as they give the appropriate care. I have two breeds here but the time has come for me to finish with one breed and now promote the other. That does not mean that one breed will go, it just means that I will only promote one breed at a time as I have always done. At my age ladies I just just can't do it anymore. As I previously said = it would be difficult for me to have more than two breeds and do justice to all. :)
