  1. Neither did West Tamar. (Launceston area) I know of no council that requires you be a member of states controlling body if you wish to register a pure bred dog. :)
  2. for Wayrod he gets my vote to.
  3. This may help you in what you are looking for http://waynesworld.com.au/wp-content/plugins/page-flip-image-gallery/popup.php?book_id=24 I think you will find the sloping cages on the back page of the catalogue.
  4. Anything that has a point on it will crack the plaque and dislodge it. For years I used a nail. An old metal nail file, the one with the curved end was great favourite of many dog people. Until I stated using the Proden PlaqueOff I used a pair of artery clamps to crack the tarter, took it off wonderfully. A pair of pointy nose pliers will do the same thing. :)
  5. I'm not sure I understand your "lol" Oakway. Sorry if I'm being a bit dull. Your link advertises wax carvers. The eBay vendor I bought from advertised teeth scalers but sent me wax carvers. . I'll contact the vendor and tell him or her "not acceptable" but want to first check that they aren't one nd same. The wax carvers don't seem to have the 'edge' on them thatvid expect for teeth scalers - they seem too rounded and too thick. But Im no expert nd haven't had them before. I was just laughing about them being wax carvers. Try this site I just googled teeth scalers. http://www.toothscaler.com/ and came up with this one. This is a great site for dog things including scalers although its in the states. http://www.toothscaler.com/
  6. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Am-Tech-R0330-12pc-Wax-Carver-Carvers-Set-Cake-Decorating-Pottery-Probe-Pick-/310376934835?pt=UK_Crafts_Ceramic_PotteryMaking_SM&hash=item4843e82db3 If it is similar to this it looks kosher to me. LOL.
  7. Please don't use wheat bags for dogs if they are eaten the dog is usually dead from the swollen wheat in the stomach before you get to the dog.
  8. Thank you for pointing this out. I have contacted the office and the wording will be corrected. :)
  9. Yes the price is totally ridiculous. No wonder we purchase it from overseas.
  10. I can not see a problem with the product (of course I can't guarantee it) if you are getting it for personal use and it is not for re sale.
  11. The first dog show was held in Tasmania so I would be checking with T.C.A. I am sure their records would give you the details of the clubs. If Norm Neilsen (former state secretary) was still alive he would be able give the full detail right off the top of his head.
  12. after training dogs with them you would not be with out them. I start at 6 weeks. Oh really, wow. I am finding I can get my pup to stand & stay still for a fair while, but I have absolutely no clue as to how he is looking while he is in the stay (or stack?). I have had my hubby take a few pics & we look a bit awkward, nothing like the pics on dogs online. I have been using a mirror, but Im still struggling, I will check out their site a bit more now. Thx! If it is of any help. I have a Toy breed at the moment and place the stackers on a stable surface like a bench or table pop the puppy on them and always offer food and praise. It must always be a nice place to be in. You just progress from there. :)
  13. after training dogs with them you would not be with out them. I start at 6 weeks.
  14. The same here but I use necks as I had a bit of a fright over the long thin wing bones.
  15. People read the above and learn what can happen. Also make sure your bitch is microchipped and has been DNA Profiled it may be the only way to get her back. We often hear of how the person with the bitch may get screwed but in this case see how the owner of the bitch has been screwed. So sorry this has has happened to you and your bitch Mystiqview.
  16. Should be available in house from now on or very soon as far as I have been told.
  17. Bostons are not in the terrier group (Group 2) they are in the non sporting group, (Group 7). They are both great little dogs. Only you can decide which one will suit you and your life style best. :)
  18. Yes, you hit the nail right on the head. I can only house sit for those will allow me to take my own dogs.
  19. Gee that's a shame. As i said I just usually buy the cheapest hamburger mince available.I suppose we are rather spoilt in Aust. with such a huge Beef Industry we tend to forget that others may not be able to purchase similar.
  20. Becks I just go to the supermarket and buy the cheapest mince available. I feed it as it comes. After a few days I add some well soaked dry food, just a little to start with and build it up. As they progress I use less water in the dry till they are having mince with dry food mixed through it. This may be over 10 days and then I change over to chicken mince slowly by mixing the two minces together with the dry food. Never had a problem with it. :)
  21. Just curious how does living in QLD make a difference? We use interceptor monthly and only treat for fleas if we've seen 1 on the dogs or they have been in contact with someone else's pet that has had fleas. We check for ticks but never had one but when we were in Rockhampton for work treated them for ticks as we were warned of them being bad in that area. We have lots of mozzies here the bad kind and because of the climate we can have a hook/whip worm problem. Prevention is better than cure. :)
  22. As i live in Qld. I treat for everything monthly.
  23. Purchase it overseas. I collected an 180 gm bottle from the Post Office the other day.
  24. and some that do are rife with politics so some breeders wouldn't touch them with a barge pole and that does not make them bad breeders. Ya right there Rebanne.
