Wow. Why would you not want to use a dog that had proved its genetic fitness and outstanding exhibit of mother nature. Wonder why dogs life spans get shorter and shorter? because breeding is done by bureaucrats who think they know best. +1

I would never dream of bathing a dog and not using conditioner no matter what the length of coat. I have always found that coats dry much quicker if a conditioner is used.

Just out of pure curiosity only, would your organisation accept a titre test instead of a vaccination certificate. Always remembering the vaccination certificate says the dog has been vaccinated, where the titre test proves that the vaccination has worked. :)

Would you rate it for Whippets Oakway? I have never had a bit of trouble with it and the Whippets loved it. Infact I would still use it if I could purchase it where I live. The store closed down.

Excellent food.

I second that. The dogs travel well usually. Also remember we have hundreds of dogs that are flying around the world on a daily basis. I always suggest that the dog is well prepared for the travel by introducing crate training.

Nail Clipping - If Left Too Long Does The Quick Grow?

Ever thought of using an electric griner. They are most efective and I feel do a far better job than cutting. -
I don't think you would have much trouble with Deerhounds. I just look for an area with a height difference maybe somewhere with a small wide step if their is a height problem. :)

Having a dog sleep with a muzzle on There are some horse products that you can apparently use for dogs, I'm thinking of getting them for my Pointer. The name escapes me but head to your local Horseland/Nag Mart and ask them. I guess some horses chew rugs too? Why not????? they are light wire and hundreds of dogs wear them to stop them destroying things. Some of my dogs had to wear them 24/7 to stop them chewing in the dog trailer. :) Are the soft plastic ones as effective, or would the dog push it into it's mouth & chew it???? I've thought about getting one for my young fellow to stop him chewing the inside of the car while travelling...or his seatbelt. I was thinking of using a spray. Yes, I think they would work fine and they are light to wear also. I like the wire and plastic ones as they can drink through them. I usually buy the wire one's as the head piece can always be shortened by twisting the wire a little bit and shortening it to get an excellent fit.

Put a greyhound muzzle on the dog. A wire one would do the trick.

I have no idea what the vetinary name is for it, but it would be my guess for it to be in the family of/or Metoclopramide.

Crazy Cresties, fantastic rug for a Whippet or Greyhound. I always found that the Venture brand rugs made in the U.K. were the best I had ever found for my Whippets.

Try Kuranda beds They also advertise on DOL http://www.kennelsolutions.com.au/about/kuranda_dog_beds.html

Your puppies sound very normal to me. All mine are born rather red and I have never had a problem with them no matter what the breed. I have seen other peoples pups that are born pale, lets just say they were never as robust as mine. :)

Unusual Reaction To Vaccination...
oakway replied to redangel's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
You could get your friend to read just what does happen when yearly vaccinations are given. http://www.dogsnaturallymagazine.com/vets-on-vaccines/ It is a common situation to have reactions to yearly vaccinations that's why yearly vaccination are not advisable these days. :) -

Neither did West Tamar. (Launceston area) I know of no council that requires you be a member of states controlling body if you wish to register a pure bred dog. :) There might be some confusion.....my local council gives discounts to owners of entire dogs IF they are a member of Dogs Victoria. I can understand the OP wishing to contact the breeder nonetheless. Sure we all know of that, but you don't "have" to be a member of your controlling body to register a pure bred dog with a council. After paying a joining fee should your state have one and them the yearly fee it would eat up any savings. :) -
