  3. Unfortunately it's going to be longer one this year. :) I do wish the dog showing area could have been placed on the St. Paul Terrace side of the grounds.
  4. LOL I do I do as well :D +1
  5. Don't panic,, parking is on St. Pauls Terrace opposite Alexandrina street. You may access the showgrounds through Alexandrina or walk up St. Pauls to Costin Street turn right and then straight up to the show grounds entrance. You may if you wish drop your dogs off first as we have been told that an area has been set aside that will be secure. Sorry didn't read your post correctly (to early in the morning for me). I am in the same boat and I am going to drop mine off first.
  6. No worries just e mail them and they will forward an e mail back with one. :) The receipt number should get you in. All most people have is a receipt from the RNA. Oh, by the way I put Sydney Royal entries away in a safe place one year........still haven't found them
  7. You collect your numbers once you are inside. It does say that somewhere in the schedule. :) I just went and had a look it's on page 13 regulation 22.
  8. I am so very sorry for your sad loss.
  9. Always remember that the dog must be maintained from the first blood draw till the last one is done (Rabies) and that is quite a bit of time and will not matter if the purchase is a pup or adult.
  10. I have great concern for Australia only having one Quarantine station to house our imports. My concern is that if some disease should be found it could mean the end of every import in Quarantine at that time. To me it makes more sense to have smaller stations within each state. (Please bear in mind that I have never heard of an animal cat/dog dying of a disease in quarantine). This way only one states quarantined animals would be exposed not all the entire countries animals that are in quarantine. Yes I do agree that the quarantine time in Australia should be shortened. Always remember that all the tests are carried out and the animal is given a clean bill of health before it leaves the country of origin.
  11. And THERE lies the problem. People decide they want a Cavalier, but will not invest in the general cost of adopting a pedigree, well bred dog. Thus, they are bought cheaply from backyard breeders and pet shops where dogs where the dogs are bred and bred, regardless of the health issues. The new owners then decide they want to have 'just one litter', and the cycle of backyard breeders and poorly bred dogs with high health issues continues Honestly, it's about education. A repoutable breeder will charge anywhere from $600 - $1000 for a well bred, health tested dog. These costs purely reflect the money invested into breeding and health testing for strong, healthy lines..... I'll get off of my soapbox now! It appears to me that you have hit the nail right on the head. So many CKCS being purchased from puppy farmers and back yard breeders may be the cause of so many unhealthy ones. People do your homework and only purchase from reliable, ethical registered breeders that health test all stock.
  12. Which breed are you refering to. The King Charles Spaniel or the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Their are plenty bred of both breeds all over Australia that are health tested and clear although the King Charles is some what less bred than the Cavalier.
  13. Yes their are a lot of Cowboys out there that do the good pig hunters and their dogs a lot of harm. Without our pig hunters we would have ferrel pigs running amuck.
  14. on the cash prizes and yes I would need a shed to. Most that I win now days I donate back just to get rid of them. (small house) When I had the big cleanout before I left to go to Tas. I filled the wagon with what was left and donated them to my local club.
  15. Scarey looking.........what???????????????? From what I can gather there is a show on ABC at 7:30 on the subject of pig dogging. "Scarey looking" is perhaps a reference to the promo that Meea saw about dogs killing pigs. Vague I know, but I've been reading Sherlock Holmes lately, so I used my recently acquired powers of deduction. Thanks for that, I some what gathered that as I was reading through the posts. Blasted ferrel pigs you should see what they can do to the land. They are so destructive I wish we could wipe them all out with one blow.
  16. Scarey looking.........what????????????????
