  1. It's so simple people, only purchase off those that do health testing where it is available for that breed.
  2. I wouldn't mind betting that they are un registered BYB jobs.
  3. What one must also keep in mind is that some dogs are confined for their own well being and safety.
  4. I think the name playpen may be misleading. Most playpens are for confinement, that is why I suggested a good top on it.
  5. If you are purchasing a pen for your Lab. may I sugest a C crate "type" one that has top on it.
  6. I have seen some crates that are sold on the Durack Showgrounds that come in black silver and gold.
  7. No the rest of its life having to live with what its already got plus cushings. Havent you ever heard the saying ......you wouldn't let it happen to a dog. I love mine to much to let them suffer. If the dog is happy and content then that is the most important thing. If the dog is miserable etc, then yes, maybe that is the right call, but the only person who can make that call is Stellnme and the vet treating. ETA - I love my dogs, but just because they have issues I won't PTS. Just because they have illness doesn't necessarily mean they are suffering. I know that so many people have said to me to put two of my seniors down due to their issues. But they are happy and content, which is all that matters. Exactly, it's up to each of us to decide when the time is right. The OP asked for opinions and I did just that.

  9. I would personally let the dog go peacefully. With the conditions that you have described why put the dog through all of that. I always say if you love them, love then enought to let them go.
  10. Ok.. just to ease your mind and make sure nothing's amiss .. maybe get a referral to an orthopaedic vet or similar? Then you could just plan ahead :) I agree. With the further information you have given OP I don't believe this is a simple give Vit. C now. Hope all goes well for you and the dog.
  11. how much is a massive dose? I gave a Whippet six 1000 IU tablets twice a day till the condition improved. You can not overdose so I have been told. They only pee out what they don't use. excellent, I will be doing this as of tonight, the poor boy is such a cluts, he runs to meet me of an evening and his back legs just give, he used to have such a strong stance. With what you have just said it sounds as though a vist to the vet might not hurt.

  13. You could always try massive doses of vit C.
  14. Go to the local news paper, radio station, and local TV and polly with documented evidence.
  15. Yes, that is exactly my vets opinion. So I expect you know what he thinks of the intelligence of the Canine Controlling bodies. But then they are not making the rules for the benefit of the dogs, they are pandering to those they fear will cause them trouble if they dont please the animal libbers and those who consider their dogs to be fur babies. Seems and awful lot of the eticals dont talk much to the repro experts as they seem to always be prattling the dont breed em young n never more than once a year minimum. Yet even gynacologists are agast at how more dangerous it is for both mother and child the older a human mum is before she has her first child, same for the canines too, but hey, to not toe the popularist line is to be automatically "unethical" n thats darned dangerous isnt it fed properly most bitches are fat by the time they are next in heat, but the few that arent then obviously are asking for a break but we surely dont need blanket rules for all like we have now?
  16. The dogs are just playing and enjoying it.
  17. I was told today that it is definite. Supposedly this coming June. Please remember I did not see that on official letterhead.
  18. Absolutely. You would swear that mine had just stepped of the plane from LAX and yet a friends did it the hard way. It can be so sad for some. But lets look on the bright side, it will soon be only 10 days quarantine and that will be a big relief for some owners and their dogs.
  19. I quarantined in Sydney and have nothing but praise for the staff and the way my dog was when she was released. Lets face it, some dogs just do quarantine better than others.
  20. Lets face it it's an improvement on some of the Supermarket brands. :)
  21. Do you mean this one ?. 3.4.3.10 Show Passes A dog exhibitor who has already paid an entry fee or fees to the dog section of a show shall not be required to pay a gate admission into the fixture. Exhibitors will be supplied with passes on the following scale: one pass for one or two exhibits; two passes for three or four exhibits; three passes for five or six exhibits; four passes for seven or more exhibits. 3.4.3.11 Vehicle Admission Where facilities allow for admission of vehicles to the exhibition ground, a ground usage fee may be charged. The fee must be payable with entries, and must not exceed the fee payable at KCC Park.
  22. the judge chooses his top 8 (from all the BOB )and then whittles it down to his top 4 As in, all BOB show up today and they choose the top 8? Or do they sort go back through their records or whatnot and then just the top 8 go in today? But thankyou at least I now know a bit more about why not every breed is in the group judging!! Every breed that was awarded a BOB is in the ring before the judge. He just chooses what he believes to be the best of those then whittles it down to just the best four in his/her opinion.
