  1. I "really" have tried to find it but goes back such a long way. Yes all respectable ethical registered breeders are doing our best to fight the Animal Task Force.
  2. You have to be kidding......We the registered Pure Bred Breeders are so over regulated with rules and regulations and codes of ethics we can hardly move. We the pure bred breeders are the ones that are locatable by being registered. Go and see if you can find a list of puppy farmers.
  3. You said you support them !!!!!. Well that means you are against all the States Controlling Bodies that have legally Registered Pure Bred Breeders because Oscars Law does not differentiate between them and Puppy Farmers. You can't support both. You can't know who it differentiates between because there is no law and no draft. You may have seen a supporter spout off about all breeders but ask OL themselves. Yes it does!!!!!! She being D. T. and she refused to change the wording. It was I believe posted on this forum when OL first reared it's ugly head. If it was not this this forum sorry I can't remember where it was, but I read it.

  5. I am the first to encourage Junior Handler Classes but I am continually seeing young juniors with in appropriate dogs and here in lies the problem,
  6. If you read it and understood it, you wouldn't support it !!!!!.
  7. No, I don't rub shoulders with the enemy.
  8. Do you know what worries me the most ? what are some people breeding out there that this is even thought necessary. Yes, I can understand it being tried out on an animal that has had a sudden change in it's life after years of a stable environment, to be suddenly confronted with a huge change but on puppies ???? no way, breed them with good temperaments in the first place.
  9. Any dogs to and from New Zealand must be freight. :)
  10. Come on people if anyone has a link to what we are after PLEASE post it. Yes, we all know it takes time to get through a 115 pages but if you have spotted it PLEASE let us all know. I am betting that it is worded in such a way we are just not recognising it.
  11. Not to my knowledge. Here in lies the problem. I have asked at Dog Shows all weekend and nobody can give an exact definition. All I have had said to me its like Oscars law their is NO definition made between the Registered State Body breeders and the Puppy Farmer.
  12. All it means is that an Export certificate will not be issued and that progeny from that dog will not be able to be registered. Do you really believe that a dog with limited registration can not be privately exported with its owners should they leave Aust. and take the dog with them.
  13. I buy mine from E-bay here there are so many to pick from. I have one that I can adjust the temp just like an electric blanket, in fact I can see the temp setting displayed as in numerals. http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_odkw=Dogsheating+pads&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0&_nkw=Dogs+heating+pads&_sacat=0
  14. Of course, bad example there. I know limited registration papers does not stop the breeding of dogs & only desexing physically can, it is the intent I am querying. Limited registration papers clearly mean not for breeding or showing. The Intent & meaning of the limited registration pedigree is quite clear. I wonder if a good lawyer could win a case in civil court based on the intent & purpose of the dogs as they were sold. Guess its never been done. Christina it only means not for breeding and showing within that registry.
  15. The breeder doesn't have a leg to stand on in my opinion. It all comes down to the Limited Register. The Limited Register does not stop the breeding of the dogs it only stops any off- spring from them being registered. If you don't want your dogs to bred with then de sex them. It is the same when we mark in some states registration papers not for Export. This does not stop the dogs being exported it just guarantees that an Official Export Pedigree Certificate will not be issued.
  16. Probably wont matter. There wont be any around. When breeding a litter becomes x4 more than the returns, only the wealthy and really obsessed will continue. The idea of this legislation is to remove dogs from pet ownership. Full stop. Pitbulls docking all reduced numbers available, and AR found that via legislation, they could win, as no one would stand against them, because no one had a pitbull, and docking is cruel, so now they are going towards the end goal. True. Again I repeat, if this document becomes law and the law is enforced, god help the costs to the dog world to comply because they will be enforced. I breed and show pure bred dogs, I along with many others will not be able to continue and don't forget we the breeders are the ones that supply your lovely pure bred pets.
  17. We must always stop and think of the many pensioners and persons that rent, that could not comply with these new regulations that have been been the stalwarts of some of our dog breeds.
  18. I did a search for "kennel", "breeding", "breeding establishment" and "housing" and could not find anything that clearly stated all breeders would have to keep their dogs in kennel blocks and were not to be kept inside at all. The relevant section seemed to be referring to boarding kennels and shelters and commercial breeding establishments. I can't submit a response to this if I can't find any reference to it in the taskforce submission. DogsNSW doesn't seem particularly concerned about the kennels thing. Maybe people should read stuff before they start disseminating information and canvassing for support. Just saying. I did read it, a couple of times infact and the more I read, the more alarming I find it and to be honest if this goes through, I may as well pack it all in . Yes, we may as well all pack it in. If what is being said becomes reality we shall all have no choice but to say bye, bye Dog World. The majority of us do not have the finances to comply nor will many of those just joining the ranks of the dog world. Just think how much you "may" have to pay for a Registered Pure Bred Puppy from an Ethical Registered Breeder.
  19. Could you please indicate where these proposed regulations may be found in writing? I have been looking through the taskforce submission posted by Powerlegs and can't find where this is coming from. As I have not as yet read the entire document (it is I believe 115 pages long) I can not say which pages they cam from. :)
  20. Here is just part of the bill. In reality the "NSW COMPANION ANIMALS TASKFORCE BILL" as proposed will legislate that Pure Bred Dog Breeders are bound by the following laws… just to name a few of the mandatory compliances… 1) ALL Breeders will have to immediately apply to their local Council for a Development Application to breed Pure Bred Dogs. The D.A. has a "possibly" of being approved if you can meet the conditions of the Council requirements. 2) The application fee for a D.A. in order to meet just the basic provisions that the Bill demands of us, equates to a fee of at least $3,500.00 (10% of the cost of the construction). The BULK of this fee is not refundable if your D.A. is denied. 3) Based on a bare essential set up (i.e breeding one litter of pups per year), you would need a kennel block consisting of (6) double kennels, and a whelping kennel/grooming room to carry out the tasks to perform those functions. All kennels have to be constructed on a concrete slab, made of Besser Block to meet extremes of climate; save on air cont'd/heating, and to meet hygiene conditions. Q. Why a block of (6)? You are no longer allowed dogs in your homes, therefore you need to accommodate your oldies, your show dogs… you no longer breed with, your current breeding stock – studs and broods, your young prospects that your growing out, and your pups until they reach the stage of a saleable age and/or you have had time to assess "the picks" to see what will serve your breeding program most. This quote for the most basic construction, and no margin for profit, and which includes basic electricity and plumbing, is $35,000.00 - $40,000.00. 4) You must agree to have your premises inspected – AT YOUR EXPENSE, approximately $300.00 per inspection (& rising…as it does), by RSPACA, Animal Welfare League, and/or your local Council, as often as these bodies see fit. You only need to get 2 inspections per annum and that adds another $600.00 per year. 5) You will be allocated the number of dogs each breeder is permitted to keep in their kennels, and this requirement must be adhered to before your D.A. is granted. Are you ready to part with Missy, Jock, old Sussie and Doc, or more? I'm not… 6) All our dogs will have to be registered on an annual basis, and the fee will go up to AT LEAST the same fee as is being charged to the pet owners that refuses to have their pet de-sexed; namely $150.00 at the moment. In other words we will have our present exception taken away from us, because our breeding and/or show dogs have to be entire. Therefore, any dogs over the age of 6 months (i.e. say 10 in all), will add an additional cost of $900.00 per year.. The most basic cost to comply with this "NSW COMPANION ANIMALS TASKFORCE BILL," in order to have any chance of your D.A. being granted is $40,000.00. This quote was given by a licensed builder, without any profit margin built in. I can well imagine that at least 98% of Breeders have uttered that they will no longer be able to continue with their hobby!
  21. Contact Wayrod on this forum. Highly recommend from experience. This will find him. http://www.boardingkennels.com.au/transport_12.html
