  1. Why would a breeder feed such an inadequate diet to a growing pup is beyond my belief. Think I would be a bit suspicious of this breeder. JMHO
  2. Well flame suit on. De barking is my 2nd port of call. After a reasonable amount of time with the normal methods, if the barking does not stop off to the vet. I just can't see why I should put the dog or myself through an intensive time trying to stop the dog barking. Good heavens all the vet does is cauterize the vocal cords. It's a job that only takes minutes. I would recommend it to all. Once the dog is done sanity returns. JMHO
  3. Looks like we may all be confused but Crisovar. I use the flea and tick leave it on one.
  4. Yep a lot of old wives tales running around. Most of us show people depending on the breed will shampoo weekly. Some with coated breeds will shampooed twice a week. Also depending on the breed some owners may oil there dogs. Some may only oil feathering. Sometimes when you get home home from a show that was on a real dirty ground you might start bathing again for the next days show. Always use a GOOD quality shampoo and conditioner. Shampoo's are made in most colours to suit the dog. Same are made to soften and some are made to make the coat harsh. If you wish to human hair shampoo's and conditioner again make sure it's a good one NOT the plain label one. Also dog shampoo's and conditioner's can be rather expensive but are worth their weight in gold when you get onto the right one.
  5. Well I don't think your going to be happy with my answer. If you love the little fellow go and put him down, why leave him to suffer. Think of the dog not your self. I say this in the nicest possible way.
  6. Sorry I don't understand what you mean, when you say leave it on for 10 mins. Do you mean that you wash it off ?. I just use it in the Hydro bath all over the dog even in the ears, it's a beaut cleaner for that and then just leave the dog in it's yard to dry.
  7. You can use it in the Hydro bath and wash the dog from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail. I have been using it this way for years.
  8. Many.. many years ago according to Wiki Listerine was invented in the 19th century as powerful surgical antiseptic. It was later sold, in very distilled form, as floor cleaner and cure for gonorrhea. But it wasn't runaway success until the 1920s, when it was pitched as solution for "chronic halitosis", the faux medical term that the Listerine advertising group created in 1921 to describe bad breath. Hey "shmoo" I aint that old.
  9. Listerine used to be sold along side the Dettol years ago. I do mean years ago. It dries up hot spots like crazey. No....it does not sting hot spots. The hot spot has a yellow pus like covering above the skin. The Listerine attacks this covering. Whithin 3 days the hot spot would be dry and gone.
  10. Thank you all the matter has been sorted out
  11. Thanks I know what has caused it. I just want to know where the best place to purchase it is. By the way the cause has been rectified.
  12. No I haven't seen it, (the hot spot) but I have been using Listerine Antiseptic for hot spots for years. I just don't have any or I would send her mine. She has tried to purchase it but just keep getting that we only stock the Mouth Wash. I have been using it for 40 years and think it the most marvelous stuff ever invented for use on hot spots.
  13. Sorry to bother you all, but I have a friend that has Hot Spots on her Pug. I said Listerine Antiseptic. But where do you by it. She has tried the chemists and they say all they keep is the mouth wash ?. Any ideas would be helpful for the area's around Ipswich Qld.
  14. Nothing's changed,...... of course nothings changed the dog is just the same as before, the only differance is that it does it quietly. Good on you for having it done.
  15. Why not just take her to the vet and have some bloods done. It may be something as simple as Thyroid.
  16. Why not take the dog with you and book in for some grooming lessons with and experienced shower/groomer in Brisbane.
  17. Take the bitch to a vet and have thoroughly checked out. She may have an infection of the uterus. I would be taking her off what ever you have her on also. Dogs don't suffer from PMT as far as I am aware.
  18. Sorry your having problems. Until you learn how to prepare the dog I would suggest that you go to a professional and learn. 'You usually strip with finger and thumb. And no the holes won't fill in till the new coat grows back. You may just have to strip right back to nothing and start again and roll the coat till you have it exactly how you want it.
  19. I hope it does catch up for you. I had one similar and let it go as a pet, only to see the dog later on with a perfect bite ;) it does and can happen that it will turn out perfectly normal. Good luck.
  20. Firstly, the bottom jaw will the last part to keep growing in any dog. Did you purchase this dog as a pet or show dog?. Their are thousands of dogs in the world with incorrect bits and live happy healthy lives. They also live to old age. This condition is not only found in dogs but but other animals to. Unless the dog is required for the show ring or was purchased for breeding, I would not worry about it. Most owners of dogs with bad mouths never know their dog has one.
  21. It would one of the best products on the market for the removal of ticks and fleas. It also has great safety factor. It is used by many boarding kennels to bath the dogs as they come in to ensure that the animal has no ticks or fleas. It should of course be used in conjunction with a tick and flea preventative.
  22. The Whippets are bathed every week. Sometimes twice in a weekend if the show ground is red soil or muddy. Some of the coated breeds are washed every two days or at least 3 times a week. They are of course only washed in good quality shampoo and conditioned or oiled depending on the breed.
  23. Boarding kennels are going to have to learn the new vaccination protocols. It will be difficult for a while as some vets are still crying over the loss of income. Some kennels listen to their vets and believe what they say is gospel, to the vets delight, as he makes money out of it. But as I continually say if vets are the caring animal persons that they say they are, they should understand that vaccine being pumped into a dog every year is not the correct thing for the dogs health.
  24. If you love them enough you will know when it's time. I don't put my dogs through anything, I love them to much to let them suffer.
