The acid in a dog stomach is so strong it just about dissolves anything. Many people use the great Barko and yes it does have some small amount of soy But nowhere near as much as some other brands. Here are the ingredients and no I don't work for them. INGREDIENTS Great Barko is formulated from a selection of the following ingredients. Cooked meat or meat by-products derived from beef, lamb, chicken, pork, cooked fish or fish by-products, fat, cooked cereals, wheaten bran. Canola and soy products derived from them. Lysine, methionine, antioxidant, bentonite, vitamins and minerals. Vitamins: A, D3, E, K, B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B6 (pyridoxine), B12, niacin, pantothenate, folic acid and biotin. Minerals: Calcium, phosphorus, sodium, chloride, cobalt, copper, iodine, iron, manganese, selenium and zinc.

If your not happy with the great Barko why not try Uncle Abners, same distributer.

I feed them to 6 week old pups with no problems and at last night gave them broken up chicken frames. Still no problems.

Calcium To Phosphorous Ratio During Pregnancy
oakway replied to Stitch's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Hi, My bitches are mainly fed barf (with a little dry food) and I have never had a problem with whelping. Healthy pups that go on to be Champions. I don't know if the amount of dry food make that much difference. Bitches have been having healthy litters for hundreds of years living in the wild. -
Thanks CBL, it's a shame when this happens. At least he will be warm, and getting them to let him in is a great start. Cheers.

The owners were asked in the I G thread if they would surrender him to I G Rescue. I don't think any news has been given since. It's a shame for the little fellow. I hope he finds a good home that will understand I G's.

Italians need to be with people. They feel the cold something shocking and need to be rugged or kept in a very warm environment. Love to be cuddled most of the time and like to sleep in bed with you. They can be very hard to house train. The only other thing I can suggest is to get a belly band and put this on him. It is a wrap that goes around him and his willy with a sanitary pad attached for when he is inside. Good luck with the training. From an owner of two Italians.

Lucky you. No, their is nothing wrong in feeding the Kebab meat, raw and cooked. Its usually a variety of beef/lamb and chicken. But to balance it out I would add a small amount of dry food and some meaty bones.

How To Use A Twin Tank Hydrobath
oakway replied to Baby Dragon's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
You can't damage the pump it runs or it doesn't. About the worst thing you can do is to forget to switch over and then all you'll do is mix the water. (sheeeeeesh it makes you swear) -
How To Use A Twin Tank Hydrobath
oakway replied to Baby Dragon's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I have a twin tank hydro bath. I wash dog 1 in the wash tank then turn a switch to the rinse tank. When I have finished that dog I turn the switch back to the wash tank and bath dog 2. When finished washing that dog I turn the switch to the rinse tank and rinse dog 2. If thats all I have to do I just empty the water out of both tanks. -
What sad news to hear. Not all is lost, chin up, and wait for the experts to see what they have to say.

If I read everything right.....Why not cancel the expensive test and take her to a specialist first and see what is said there. The specialist may have a better understanding of the problem.

Hi Fifi, Yes your right I meant Loquat tree. (dongs self on head) Kumquats are just like little oranges.

Prostate Problems: Castration Or Suprelorin?
oakway replied to wil075's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Castration immediately. -
Could be a Kumquat tree, has a similar leaf. Does it have yellow fruit with several large brown seeds inside. I eat the fruit but I am not sure about the seeds if dogs have eaten them. Maybe check the droppings for seeds digested or whole.

Because in this breed rarely are they eye tested as pups unless there is an issue. We have tested at that age simply due to finding out info about our imports lines & making sure we didnt add a problem. We didnt but the bitch & pups are spayed. Both parents should have eye clearances but with pups you will find a small handful who do it as the need isnt there. Thanks for the heads up on the breed. Maybe I am just a worry wort. I also have a second breed that can fall prone to eye problems, but can not be tested till at least 5 to 7 years. But both the dog and bitch that I have are clear through parentage. (thank god) Sometimes I wonder if ignorance is not bliss. LOL. Cheers.

Wait a minute, many breeders are members of the states controlling body and members of their breeds club. Many still only breed for the pet market. How can you be sure if just told...no problems in the line. Why don't the sire and dam have certificates of clearance ?. If you were the breeder would you not have copies of the certificates available to the new purchasers... and proud of it. I am not saying that these breeders are not breeders of quality dogs. But unless certificates are available how do any of us know. As we all say no pedigree no proof of parentage, no proof of identification. I don't think it would unfair to the breeder to ask for an eye clear certificate for that pup before purchase. If they are in it for the long haul they should be eager to comply.

Hi Cavalier, A case of it never rains but it pours. Sad news to hear indeed.

Anyone Else Have Skinny Dogs That Dont Fatten?
oakway replied to Missymoo's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Was a Thyroid test included in that ?. -
We still see distemper quite regularly in the remote North West of WA. Not to mention our isolation ward full of parv pups.... Hi Cavailier, Is from the camp dogs spreading it ?.
-
Are the breeders registered with the Canine Controlling body of your state ?.

Hi, Raw veggies won't hurt her, but they do no good either.Veggies are full of cellulose and dogs cant digest it unless you liquefy then in a processor or put them through a juicer. If you use a juicer just add the pulp to the liquid. Then add to the dog food. Cheers.
-
Sounds like a bit of over kill to me. I would just use the Ivermec in the liquid form. Years ago I had dog with it. I just gave it Ivermec liquid and also rubbed the Ivermec on the spot twice a day and it was gone in a week.

I wouldn't have thought Large Puppy Eukanuba, puppy milk, whole chicken frames and raw vegetables are poor diet though Pups don't need milk. I'd be getting rid of that. Vegetables = How are you perparing them. If they are not prepared properly they will be of no use.
