  1. 3% of what? Bl%%#y Fat of course, LOL. If you want to get weight off use Roo, if you want to get weight on use a rich fatty meat like Lamb.
  2. Why not ask another family member to take the dog to the vet.
  3. You may have fed to much to quick. Roo is high in protein and low in fat. As it is so low in fat, about 3% it would not be rich.
  4. Chiro for sure. There a rule in my house.....Big kids are not allowed to play with Little kids.
  5. Have the dog titre tested if it comes back with a positive for T cells for DHP the dog is vaccinated for life. The only thing that will kill the T cells are irradiation or death. Many boarding kennels are now accepting Titre tests.
  6. Mine are exactly the opposite to yours.
  7. Yep we all hear things that make us laugh at shows but the one that dumbfounded me was at this years Brisbane Royal. I was desperately searching for a particular ATM machine so I went to the information booth only to be told we can not help you we are not open yet........
  8. Roo meat is a lean meat. Good for the fatties. It is not rich as it contains less fat. It is high in protein and may not agree with some dogs. Yes it is good for people as it has less fat but do not expect your dog fatten on such a lean meat.
  9. I don't put mine on puppy food. They are fed adult right from the start. Usually dry in the morning and chicken frames at night.
  10. Sorry Malsam, people have tried the Pro Biotic with out success. Including me. The only thing that's ever stopped mine is crushed Pineapple. I don't worry over it, but if people were coming I would usually add to the dogs food just in case. None of nine do it at the moment. I usually tell people don't look.
  11. This can happen so often when a dog gets sick. Everyone is treating the for the illness and forgets to check for tick. As soon as you said about the hind legs that made me think of tick and that's why I asked. So glad to hear that all is well and your boy is on the mend.
  12. Hi, Go and buy a tin of cheap crushed pineapple and put it in its food. Dogs do these sort of things all time because they are dogs and can do it. Don't get too upset about it. It has never been known to upset a dog yet only people.
  13. Maybe the real basics of the problem is, owner puts food down, dog goes and has a sniff and say's that's different and walks away. Then we hear my dog won't eat it. I mixed mine with the last of the Cop Rice to wean them onto it. I didn't have problems but the dogs knew their something new in with it. But then, I'm a tough old bird and just told the dogs to lump it or like it. I also made a point of not putting out meaty bones and chicken frames just to make sure they did eat it. Yeah I'm a meanie.
  14. Possibly the most stupid question in the world, but have you checked for ticks.
  15. Roll the dog onto a blanket or piece of canvas and drag the dog to the car. Lift front feet and shoulders into the car floor and push the rest in.
  16. I have often heard of this discharge, but never seen it. I know it is called Vaginitis. So I would suspect some kind of infection. I have heard many say it just goes away and some it's just a puppy thing, but I am with the others and think it needs checking.
  17. Thanks for that. Now I know where it is I will nick down at lunch time I work at Paws and Whiskers in Gilmore Road not far from there. Yes they (Manufactures) are very good I was speaking to the Qld. Rep last week trying to find out where I could purchase it closer to me. Looks like it is closer to work. LOL.
  18. If you want quick training treats why not go and by a packet or lose cocktail franks. Easy to slip one into your pocket and pinch off a piece at at time.
  19. Yes please, keep your thoughts coming in. This is a very interesting thread. Of course everyone will believe that what they feed is correct, but please remember each dog is different and may require something a little different as may some breeds, but the important thing is good nutrition no matter what brand you feed.
  20. Strange that you ask as I have just changed brands of dry food. Over the years I have been breeding I have used many brands of dry food From the super premium to just the average brand of dry food. The last litter that I bred the bitch was on chicken and CopRice Family Dog. I have changed because the Formula has been changed and it just wasn't doing the job. I have just changed to Uncle Abners and all the dogs weight has increased. I also have baby puppies on it and they are doing so well. This was taken at about 8 weeks and his weight has increased and I have had cut the dry back a bit.
  21. Hi, Bitches in whelp need to be on a complete diet not puppy food. Yes years ago we didn't have the variety of food we have now so we fed puppy food because it was a darn sight better than anything else. Now days what with the money that is spent by dog food manufactures to ensure a complete and nutritious diet for our dogs. Puppy food is manufactured for puppies not expectant mothers. So a more complete and nutritious diet should be fed. Now having said that I feed chicken and dry food. It works for me. Chicken as = minced frames, frames, neck and wings. I feed the dry in the morning and the wet at night.
  22. Hi, I paid $39.99 for a 22Kg bag of Uncle Abners in Qld.
  23. Agree 100% Rubbish! Laucke Mills are sending out well over 1000 pallets of the stuff every week. They are making their money on the demand of a good product. I have been breeding and exhibiting dogs for 23 years now and I can honestly say that Great Barko/Uncle Albers are amongst the best of the "budget" priced complete foods available for dogs today. I agree, I have just slowly switched my lot over to Uncle Abners. At $40 a bag for 22Kg I think it's a good buy.
