I don't understand why you would feed a bitch or a pup milk. Its not necessary for their diet.

Hi, It will depend in which state you live and what the controling bodies rules are.

Vet Recommendations - Durack , Brisbane
oakway replied to YappyLittleDawg's topic in General Dog Discussion
She could always try Ian Gorrie at Forest Lake or his other surgery at Waterford Road right next to Forest Lake. -
The vets will make more money out of those dogs. Of course the vet wants them to breed. All a vet gets out my breeding is the first vaccination and a titre test if I keep a pup. Just think how much the vet will earn if some of those pups stay in the area and have problems.

You were told the truth. The coat insulates the dog.

Another Lump Question - With Pictures
oakway replied to New Age Outlaw's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaa Dr. Tim Rush Yamanto vet surgery. -
For goodness sake just put the dog in the bath and use a suitable rubber hose attachment brought from the hardware store with either the single or double attachment for ever your bath has. If that's to much trouble to go to just bung it in the shower.

Uuuuuummmmmm eeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrr for me it would depend on who the judges were.

Because it has been withdrawn from the American market because it has killed to many dogs. You wouldn't get me to use it for qids.

Why don't you buy a pure bred and then you will know it's age, sire and dam. You will also know what it is going to end up looking like. Just a thought. Cheers

I have been using Ivomec sheep and goat for that many years. I have not had any issues with it. It is administered to all the dogs I own every month. This includes pregnant and nursing bitches. Most of my friends use it also and never had a problem with it. I also use it at a higher dose rate than most. I use 1ml per 16kg of body weight because at that dose rate it will get rid of hook worm. The dose rate was worked out by a vet.

Don't forget you have to be a member of the controlling body of your state and your dog transfered into your name or shown in the name of the breeder. Good luck

Dog Keeps Taking Bandage Off Her Foot.. Help
oakway replied to MissMolly's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Get a wire or plastic muzzle and put on the dog. -
Most of us use the Goat and Sheep Ivomec. If used at the dose rate of 1ml per 16kg of body rate it will also clean out Hook or Whip worm. Used at this dose rate I have been Heart and worming my dogs for more years than I can remember. Cheers

If it took 5 days to have a reaction, I would be looking for another cause. :p

Dogs in their natural environment do not live long lives. They also eat a vastly different diet. Only one pup in a large litter may survive to adult hood. Nature is a great leveler.

Lovely to hear that everything went well. Once he is fully recovered you will really notice a difference in the lad. -
Confused - 2 Vaccintations And Pavro - When Is It Safe
oakway replied to Snowball's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Oh well here I go again. Hi Snowball welcome to Dogzonline. Firstly, pups should not be vaccinated before 8 weeks. Yes we all did them at six weeks years ago but now we know better. It is now said that 6 week vaccinations have very little chance of working. The greats in this field, Dr. Jean Dodds being one of them said to me and some others at the seminars that she held in Australian, one before 3 months and then one after. (Vaccination that is) We have been told that 8 weeks is an excellent time to start. Vaccines do not take 2 weeks to work. The start working the minute they are introduced into the body. Some vaccines have 36 hour turnaround. This will depend on the brand of vaccine you use. After your second vaccination it is wise to arrange with your vet to have a titre test done. When the test is returned it will tell that your dog is carrying anti bodies for what you vaccinated for or it is not carrying the antibodies. So you basically have to start all over again with the vaccinations if it is not. If your dog is carrying all the antibodies it will never need vaccinating again. The only thing that will kill them off is radiation or death. Some owners do a booster vaccination 12 months after the last vaccination some do not. Some boarding kennels will not accept titre tests. -
Na didn't mean that. I thought Cheryl might have a talk to her, and talk her through what to do.

Difference Between Main And Limited Register?
oakway replied to Shmurps's topic in General Dog Discussion
Main..........you can do what you like with the animal, show breed etc.. Limited.......no breeding or showing but you can do obedience and other similar activities. Edited to say limited may often come with a private de sexing contract. -
Have you ever thought that you may be causing the problem by the way you are stacking the dog. What I picked up on was that he does not want you to handle him into the stack. Often pups go bum high I don't think that may have anything to with the top line problem. Good luck with him and let us all know what happens.

When we have large numbers of dogs you will find a lot of breeders purchase the largest packet available and divide it among their dogs. Most of us know what the dose rate is. If the companies that manufacture these products had any sense they would bring out a breeders pack with a measure applicator. That way we would not go out and purchase other products that do the job. Before all of you ask what I use it's Regents 200 I break it down 50/50 with pest oil and use it at normal recommended dose rate for Frontline. Before anybody comments pest oil is just oil that is used to get remove pests that don't like oil.

Pseudomonas Chronic Ear Infection
oakway replied to westiemum's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Yes I think you are doing the right thing. It's very difficult to treat a pseudomonas and you have certainly given it every chance. Best of luck with the op. -
Would it be Toledo.
