  1. Ecellent choice for your pup. Most breeders rear their pups on barf some with the addition of some good quality dry feed mixed in. Intoduce it slowly so as to not upset the tummy.
  2. No your not the odd one out. I would have done all that before purchasing the pup and so would have you and a lot of others, but as the owner is new they would not possibly think about such things. To be truthfull, why has hasn't the breeder informed the purchaser. I'll bet you tell all your clients about the procedures just like the rest of us do. It just makes me so mad when we get breeders that do not inform their clients, or have NO idea as to what to do themselves. I just feel that it makes those of us who do the right thing, look bad.
  3. It is simple, when the pups papers arrive if it was microchipped the number will be on the papers.
  4. Hi TeamSnag. The web side is not for Mary's Van, that is Classic Show Supplies site. Still very "good" to deal with. I am not sure if Jillian has a web site for Mary's Van. Maybe someone on the list may know.
  5. My vet in Qld. Dr. Tim Rush at Yamanto Vet Surgery had it in stock. Told him what I though of Fort Dodge. When I have a litter here I will use the vet that uses Nobivac.
  6. Care to tell us all what breed of puppy you are getting.
  7. Talk about overkill. Puppies as you know are not vaccinated till 8 weeks now. Some do another vaccination after a month. I do one at 8 weeks and then one after 3 months and thats it for life. I also use Nobivac as it has about a 36 hour turn around and purchasers want their pups as soon as possible, this enables the purchaser to collect their pup two days after vaccination.
  8. Hi SBT123, The CCC of Q. send all the registration papers directly to the breeder. The breeder is the one who then distributs the papers to the new owners or does a transfer if any of the pups were registered to them. I understand that, but the new owners should always check with QLD breeders if the pups are going straight into their names. They may not be aware that many QLD breeders will wait until all pups are sold and details of new owners are known, before they register the litter. "Where are my papers" is a question often asked when it comes to QLD. I guess I'm pre-empting the next one Yes your quite right. We do hear it a bit. Or I used to. Don't think it happens the same way down here. I will sure find out when I breed a litter.

  10. Go to the Frozen Puppies site and they have a formula called Boostyabitches not sure how they spell it. But it is on their site.
  11. 9 is not old for a Whippet. If you are in any doubt get a sperm test done.
  12. The puppy should be registered in your name and thats it. No need to do anything. If the puppy is registered in the breeders name they will have to do the transfer to your name. You will receive the papers in the mail. If the pup is already in your name they may send them with the pup or in the mail.
  13. Sorry, I thought Alazin was used to terminate a pegnacy. I thought pyo bitches were treated with Prostaglandin.
  14. Have you remembered to pay your membership ?. I couldn't work out where mine was last year. Then the penny dropped I had forgotten to pay my membership. Don't have to worry about it this year, but I thought I would read it off the web site but its not there either.
  15. I asked myself the same question, but 2 vets assured me it was NOT time yet, as she seems happy & is still enjoying her food. I think it is a case by case situation, You did what you thought was right, I am doing what I think is right. Silverblue we can only do what we all believe is the right thing at the time. Good Luck with your Misty.
  16. Just asking as you said = but I would do anything to make her last days/months/years comfortable for her. Are you sure you are doing this for the dog or for yourself. I can not do that to any of my dogs. That's just me. If you are happy and the dog is happy so be it. I kept one alive on pills for years and I will never do it again. I only did it because I thought the dog world would point fingers at me. Well you can point all the fingers you want me I will never do it again. I love them to much to ever put another through that.
  17. I wouldn't care where it was. As far as I am concerned it can be in the throne room at Buckingham Palace with Betty Windsor giving a helping hand. Just as long I get a mating.
  18. I did once and once only. Never again. It was a dreadful whelping. I read up on the product more and it said it caused contractions in the uterus. I told the vet what I did and he said a firm no, do not use it.
  19. I think you will find by worming at 2 weeks you will be picking up on the worm cycle, thus helping eliminate them. If your bitch has been wormed regularly throught out the pregency your puppy worm burden will be far less or non exsistant. It is difficult to tell if the pups have any worms with the first worming as the mums can be so quick with cleans up of the pups.
  20. SAE= is now stamped addressed envelope.
  21. Not on the larger planes no, on the small (10-12 seaters) they do sometimes end up surrounded by luggage because the luggage hold is actually a "cupboard" in the plane rather than separate from the cabin in some planes. I was travelling on a 12 seater with a dog as excess baggage when one of the ground staff tried to stuff her into the luggage compartment with the crate vertical. He got called things that made him blush. Yes I am aware of that. I have been breedeing and posting on planes all over Aust and other parts of the world. ;)
