Electronic Entry Forms Program, I Lost Mine
oakway replied to MellG's topic in General Dog Discussion
I couldn't get this one to work on my computer. Ended up uninstalling it and had to do a system restore because it fouled the entire thing. Then I went to a simple Word template, pre-filled which I just printed. Now I use Show Manager and it keeps track of the shows and fills in the entire entry form. And they look lubberly too! ;) Gee thats strange because I have even loaded it onto the lap top. I also print from the lap top too. -
Same place as last year.

7.30 Report Abc To Do Expose On Dd Puppy Farms
oakway replied to lappiemum's topic in General Dog Discussion
Well I watched and I thought it sane and senseable. I don't agree with puppy farms and would rather see them abolished. -
If you have problems with them putting on weight just cut the amount down.
-
Your dog just sensed something she/he did not like, or rememberd something.
-
Neither am I, and I put it on the list. Better to be aware with a heads up, than sorry later on.

I agree with ellz, I use Uncle Albers and I could purchase it when I was in living in Qld. I was in the Rosewood area.

I purchase 2nd hand toys for the dogs. I have never found anything other than the normal white or coloured stuffing. (hate having to go around the yard to pick it up) But in this day and age who knows ????????????????

Seems this has been partially verified on Snopes.com: http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/stuffedtoys.asp

If thats the case, you do an AI then a couple of days later you get a tie. Do you register the litter as an AI?? What if the pups are born early or late and you can't tell tell if they are the result of an AI or a natural mating? BB AI is only considered AI if it is chilled or frozen seamen.

I would say your dogs the problem not the bitch.

I start about 3 to 4 weeks on hamburger mince and then I slowly add a little soaked dry food. I do not feed pups slops. Between 5 and 6 weeks I start to add chicken mince (whole chicken frame minced) I also stop soaking the dry. By six weeks the pups are fully weaned.

And how many are lined up outside the back gate to use use this so called stud dog????????????????
-
You'd need your head read if you did a stupid thing like that.

For both Lesley.

At the seminar I attended she said 8 weeks was preferable BUT if pups were to be rehomed at 8 weeks, then a 7 week vacc was the way to go. Fair enough.
-
Don't a lot of folk give their pups their first vaccs at 6 weeks? No........proven fact that they do not work in all pups under 8 weeks. I was talking about breeder practice, not vaccine efficacy Oakway. Jean Dodds, noting that most pups are rehomed at 8 weeks, recommends first vaccs at 7 weeks. Not ideal but does offer some protection in those early days. The really unethical breeders don't vaccinate at all. Yes I was one of the breeders that vaccinated at 6 weeks weeks till I realised the puppies I let go where not realy vaccinated at all. So you're saying you used to be an unethical breeder? There's a difference between unethical and uneducated, and I don't think you can really even blame breeders for being the latter, given that so many vets still seem to recommend first vaccs at between 6-8 weeks. To Right, I was just like a lot of the others. But the minute the information was available on new protocols, I had enough nouse to change my vaccinatian protocol.
-
If you are only getting a pet puppy would it realy matter if the pups mouth was a bit off. If purchasing for show, no way would you purchase it. Breeders do sell the ones with off bites or gay tails, to short, to long as pet puppies.

She told me when speaking to her personally to go with the 8 weeks. If you purchased a puppy that was not vaccinated would you not call the breeder unethical??????? Breeder practices are in question....if the puppy leaves the breeders property un vaccinated. It can be a waste of time and money if the vaccine does not work. Yes I was one of the breeders that vaccinated at 6 weeks weeks till I realised the puppies I let go where not realy vaccinated at all.

What bothers me is why would an ethical breeder vaccinate puppies at 6 weeks ?
