stormie I would disagree with some of your comments. Many companies have known the results of testing (good and bad) vaccines. They can't get them onto the market with out it. Scientific testing has taken place to prove it. That's how we found out about that it was the vaccines. stormie, am I correct in thinking that you are connected to the veterinary profession ?. If that is so, I ask you to step back and look at things through the eyes of those that have no connection in any way what so ever other than to take their dog to the vet when sick. You would find that there is a vastly different perception.

Mine eat whole Banana Passion-fruit. They help themselves to them off the vine. No problems what so ever there. I assume that you mean the round purple looking one. I agree with persephone. I would think it is the outer skin that has irritated the stomach and the dog has just thrown up.

What ellez has told is totally correct. People don't get hung up on calcium. If you feed dry there is plenty in that, if you feed a natural diet with plenty of bone that is also sufficient. The calcium given during whelping is to help stimulate the contractions nothing more. Most of us use sandoz because it appears to be absorbed in the system the quickest.

If they are thawed they will just break in two. Or just cut through the joint with a knife. If frozen use a hack saw.

If your in any doubt, do what I do, put it on the concrete and blast it with the hose.

All Turkey necks usually come frozen. Just thaw and re package. I have been doing it for years.

If the vet has advised to take out the chicken, just substitute the amount with beef, roo, turkey, fish or lamb.

The ones from Woollies are about a hand span long. These are just the ends off the big ones, (full necks) the big ones are any where from 12 to 14 inches long. The base of one of the large ones would fit tightly in a coffee cup. They also taper from about 1 inch

Just because the bag says Holistic Secect does not mean that dog won't be alergic to some thing in the product.

So sorry about the dog attack on yours. About the only thing you can carry is a gun, and yes I am being serious. Their is little you can do if an attack occurs and you are on your own. If the dog is large, about all you can do is stick your boot in it and hope it doesn't turn on you. If they are small or smallish dogs about the best you can do is get each by the scruff and lift off the ground and twist and dig in the fingers. Also, if you have a severe dog attack they will more than break the skin, , they will almost tear the leg apart and off, depending on the size of the dog. in this case you were lucky.

It really depends on where you live and show. If you are on the committee of major metropolitan shows then NO. It does not look good when the committee win groups and in show awards. If you are in an area where only a handful of people show compared to other regions, you may find that if the committee didn't show and support the entries you may not have a show.
