I have used the Bach Flowers the Rescue Remedy and Bush Essence on the dogs to no avail. Others have had great success but not me.

Fear does not equate to a Tantrum. I know that, we just call it a tantrum. Mind you, you tell a wog that when in it's in the middle of death screams. Has to been seen and heard to be believed. I assure you it would frighten the s*%t out of you.

+ 1. Usually works for me.

Yes suitable for dogs. I have been using it for years and what's more the dogs love it. I have never had a problem getting the dogs to drink Vytrate. I purchase the liquid one and make it up by the squeeze up built in measure.

Actually, I think it should be a two way street. I find your attitude to it understandable, but very wrong. Hang on a minute, what's wrong with me saying I decide who my pups go to. I am sick of and tired of people laying the law down to me. Like.......... I will require this and I will require that. I will expect copies of................ I did say cross questioned, of course people will ask reasonable questions and ethical breeders answer them. I always invite people to come to my home where possible and inspect the pups and see where they are raised and the other dogs that are raised along side them and ask relevant questions about the breed. I am so sick and tired of breeder bashing. I am also sick and tired of people telling ME what I should do as a breeder. As I have said my Ethics are above reproach. I personally believe that we have prospective owners coming onto lists and gaining a little knowledge and using it in all the wrong ways. When you try to tell them it does not apply to this breed they tell you they know because they have been told to ask for all relevant paper work. ??????????????. Sorry not this breed. Now does that make it clearer what I am talking about. :D

If you slightly suspect Ratsak get the dog to a vet and get the dog vomiting.

If you are 'too soft' to use an anti bark collar- then I hope you can find another solution .... Anti bark collars do what is needed- they provide either a distaction ,or an aversive when the dog barks too much. simple . It doesn't hurt the dog at any other time ..and it is only for a fraction of a second. A smart dog will learn VERY quickly what is going on, and stop doing what makes for a bit of unpleasantness :p have a read HERE for a thread on Anti bark collar use I am going to put it in plainer language.......toughen up or you may have a dead one. I am not saying it to be nasty, I am saying it to keep the dog alive.

I would like to clarify what I wrote. You are quite right the dog got a fright and panicked. Some of us just refer to them as tantrums.
-
I like that explanation.

Well it's always been my findings that all this cold weather and frost kills off all the bugs.
-
I would be very doubtful about it.

Don't get upset about it. It's an Italian and you just experienced a tantrum. Some are prone to it more than others. I find that if some that are out of their normal environment they are a bit prone to it. My only suggestion is next time you are in a similar situation and have the dog with you, move more slowly and let dog know what's happening. I often hold mine for a short time before I put them down.

Great advise.

And the breeders cop it again. People wonder why there are less breeders out there and less people showing. I can tell them why. I am wholeheartedly sick of people wanting a puppy and cross questioning me. I am the breeder I ask the questions and you can make up your mind when you are invited to my home to see the pups. The majority of breeders are above reproach and have only the best interest of their breed in mind. Some of the people want to know the In's and outs of a Magpie's behind. Just because a few are not kosher, please stop taring us with the same brush. Would you expect your news paper or magazine to give a rating with every advertisement ? no of course you wouldn't. Most breeders have the writing on the wall with stock they breed, just go to a show and see the the quality they produce, or ask how many Australian Champions they have bred. Soon sorts the chalk from the cheese.

Knowing Craig personally, you could not, in my opinion go to a better person. Good Luck.

Same as Mystiqview, Dogs Qld. has one on their site.

Stopping Dog Barking At People Walking Past Our Property
oakway replied to fiveplusone's topic in General Dog Discussion
In your case an electric collar could be the best solution. -
Have the dog de barked and the problem is gone.

All mine have remained the same.

Life goes on as nornal at my place.

If you shampoo, condition also.

Exactally what happend to me. I opened the Dog World to see the dog exported to South East Asia.I still beat myself up over it. Now don't get me wrong I have dogs that "I" exported to Asia "BUT I" knew where they were going.

Just be a little careful what restrictions you put on purchasers. The more restrictions we put on purchasers and condition makes many of them turn to Back Yard Breeders. Just stop and think if it was you purchasing a car and the dealer told you what you may or may not do, how would that may make you feel.

Simple matter. Tell Eagle Pack how you feel or you are going else where. Nothing like loss of business to wake some people up.

You will never see a dog of mine wearing a collar. Collars can be the greatest killer of dogs.
