I'm looking for a good brand of multivamin/mineral suppliment for an adult and a senior dog. What's your favourite? A friend who owns a 3 month old pup wants recommondations for her little one as well. There is probably a thread on this subject but haven't come across it.

My Chi is asthmatic and has allergies to grass and other substances. He was put on cortisone for a long period of time and started losing his hair. Concerned about his long term health, I changed to another vet who refered him to a specialist. The specialist put him on Aminyllin tabs. morning and night and he hasn't looked back. Very occasionally, he will have problems with grass allergies - he licks his feet which appear red and inflamed, so I give him Polaramine for a day and that settles it. But reading Blitznbears response, I'm goin to add flaxseed. He already has fish in his diet. Hope this helps.

Thanks for that info Poodle Wrangler - I'll buy the descaler and give it a go. Her teeth were perfect when she could chew bones - but has chronic panceatitus and is now not allowed them.

I am reluctant to submit my older girl to anesthesia to have her two top canine teeth cleaned (they are the only teeth needing attention at this stage) and was wondering if there is an alternative?

I visited this forum to ask about Parvo in dog pounds - as there is already a thread about inoculations going, perhaps someone might be able to tell me why so many dogs contract Parvo in dog pounds. Are the pound not disinfected effectively? (I image it would be fairly difficult to maintain any living area free from disease where dogs are in close contact with one another). Are newly impounded dogs inoculated against Parvo or distemper, or other transmittable diseases? What are council regulations concerning viral diseases control within their pounds – assuming the regulations are similar Australia-wide?
