  1. Oh that's wonderful that's she the girl, she is VERY pretty
  2. Congratulations on the babies whipitgood. Pics My fav it that last photo. Is that a girl or boy?
  3. $28 for 22kgs that's $1.27 per kg. Take off the cost of manufacture, packaging, transportation, profit etc and it tells me the ingredients have to be very poor quality cheap stuff that goes into making it. Can it possibly be good for any dog well I suppose some people must think if they're buying it!
  4. 10 Clauvolox tablets $30 for a 10kg dog - that seemed VERY STEEP to me last vet visit. Sorry off topic.
  5. No not true. Her not having a C5 as a pup has no bearing on the matter. She has now had a kennel cough vaccine which will give her SOME protection against a few of the many strains of kennel cough. The fact is that no vaccine covers all the multiple strains of the virus so even if she had a kennel cough vaccine every 6 months she still would not be 100% covered. She is unlikely to catch kennel cough in October being a warmer month but it is possible. Just accept that if she does get kennel cough it isn't the kennels fault. The best way to look upon it to get a better understandin is akin it to the human common cold. You get it in social situations and it's not pleasant for a few days but you get over it. However... the dogs cope a lot better than humans:-)
  6. I'm wondering why it is so expensive. At almost $30 per kg you can buy your dog top quality steak, in fact any top quality cut of meat for that price.
  7. Yes you're right the Canine Dog Shop only sells the treats and I wanted to try the cuisine. They said no one bought it and so it went out of date and they had to chuck it all away.
  8. Anyone know of a stockist in Perth?
  9. Anyone know the nearest stockist to Southern River, Perth?
  10. Hi Tiggy, Can I ask what quantity it recommends to fee a 10kg dog?? Ta in Advance. Also how big are the pieces out of interest.
  11. Please can you tell me which the cancer causing compounds are. thanks.
  12. Does anyone know the price comparison between Supercoat & Bonnie? I wouldn't use either but... I'm interested in the manufacturers response saying Bonnie is better than Supercoat when I would have thought it the other way round.

    Basenji

Thanks for posting the photo of this lovely tri. What sort of age would this dog have been when the photo was taken and do you by any chance remember the pedigree name or lines of the Basenji.

So your bi-black is the same as our recessive black perhaps. We can sometimes mate two red & white parents and get recessive blacks but they can have a bit of tan hair appear on the extremeties such as the bum so are registered as black, tan & white. - they are fairly rare these days. However you will mostly see dominant black & whites at the shows where at least one parent has been a black & white. This is the gene that came from Liberian black & white Basenji.

There are black & whites shown and they are popular. Black & whites can look stunning with their clean cut lines. Most States of Australia have black & whites being shown. You won't see as many black & white Basenjis as Red & White though because it takes at least one parent to be black & white to produce a dominant black & white but they are around.

A well socialised Basenji should have no problem with strangers. It's all in the upbringing. A Basenji pup MUST be socialised with different people, environments througout puppyhood. This way you get a well rounded Basenji. My Basenjis love visitors and meeting people they don't know. They will go and snuggle up to them on the couch and sit on their laps even if they've never met them before. Well socialised Basenjis are not aloof.
  17. There is a range called Vetalogica that do a multi vitamin for canines and felines but very little information on the quantity and quality is provided on the label, purley the ingredients list. I therefore give all of my dogs a multi vitamin/mineral that I know to be guaranteed potency of what is stated to be in the bottle is in the bottle with quality checks all through the manufacturing process. The Doctor who started the company knows cellular nutrition - in other words exactly what a living cell requires to stay healthy in a petra dish. I completely trust my own health and that of my dogs to this brand in the fight against degenerative diseases such as cancer, arthritis, heart disease. If you are interested just click the link below in my signature bar and then click on Usana Pets.
  18. Thank you for your response Sparky. Just bumping to see if anyone in Perth knows of a good trainer/behaviourist for the Rotty breed that they can recommend. I thought this would be the best place to ask but perhaps General would get a better response.
  19. Hi, A friend has had some problems with her Rotty who has just turned 2 years old and I said I would put the feelers out for a well repected dog trainer/behaviourist who has knowledge of he Rotty breed. This dog spent his 1st year of life in protection training and they got him at a year old. He has been great until just recently when on reaching age 2 he has shown signs of guarding with strangers. He hasn't hurt anyone yet but he has scared people by jumping on them and grabbing their arm. If anyone can recommend someone please let me know.
  20. Rommimum, when I tried to get Manuka Honey I was told you can't get it in WA because of the quarantine:-( So I don't think you'll find it locally.
  21. Hi Tiggy, Can I ask how much it says to fee a 10kg dog and where do you buy it from & price? Thanks.
  22. I've never heard of dogs having to have the gall bladder removed. It's getting very common in humans due to Western Diet of too much wrong fats. I'm surprised by the long hospital stay. When I had mine out I was only in hospital for 24hrs. Of course now I know that there are alternatives to having the gall bladder removed and only wish I had known about them before. Just make sure they give her pain relief and ensure she doesn't spend too much time led down not doing anything. The sooner you get her up and moving around the better. Good luck with your doggy.
  23. These day's general anesthesia for teeth cleaning can be avoided by using a natural pet product which softens the plaque and if you wipe the teeth with a rough cloth after a week and continue to feed the raw meaty bones which also take off the softened plaque you can save your dog from having poisonous toxins put into the body from General Anesthesia. Please consider trying one of these products first because they don't put your dog at risk and they are far cheaper as well. They work, I use them with my own dogs after discovering the product a year ago. http://www.naturalpaws.com.au/grooming-tee...roduct-356.html http://www.naturalpaws.com.au/grooming-tee...roduct-360.html
