Some things to think about there
-
:p Its more the people like the MIL that are the problem! Or the friend that comes over and wrestles with her, then tells her to settle down
-
Yeah Loz, we will be there Sunday Cool Stella, will show you what I mean today
-
Thats ok, you will have to either ignore moo cow head, or jam your hand in her mouth!
-
Haven, yeah we use that too, and it works with us, and she rarely if ever does it, its other people that is hard Loz, sure thing! It's so hard, because you feel rude when you ask people to do it, and they don't take it seriously I'm sure that I have in the past done the same by not realising what the trainers/owners were trying to achieve (before I had dogs) but now if anyone asked me I would do it right away!
-
Problem being that it is when other people are patting her, not us, so by the time we would get to squirt her she has stopped anyway I think I will just have to get every single person who she does it to, to ignore her or walk off on her when/if she does it, but its going to be really unpractical that way too So frustrating cos people don't like to listen huh?!!! They will say, "oh I'll just give her a pat cos I feel mean ignoring her"

Yeah she will be fine!!! Poor lovey -
Another thread just reminded me to post this Molly is 14 months old, we got her at 8 months, and she was HORRIBLE with mouthing at peoples hands, and wrists, obviously no one ever stopped her as a pup Now she no longer does it to us, (we use pressure on her bottom jaw and tongue) but she still does it to friends, family, etc How do we stop this? (she is 50% better than she was and she is not hurting anyone but I do not ever want anyone to think that she is vicious in any way and would prefer to stop it happening) It normally happens when people pat her so obviously I could just not allow anyone near her but I'd prefer to fix it rather than just remove the trigger

Yay!!! Bet she will be spoilt!!!! I hate having them at the vets! -
Well done!
-
Oh cool, thanks!
-
Whats a dap difuser?
-
If the food is taking til night to go through her, then the feeding at night might help and she won't feel the need to go until the next day Ed and Molly say it's not so bad being known as sooks! Ed does get beaten up by a sheltie! He is also scared of a bush in the local park!!!
-
Actually TB, Molly gets extremely upset if I am stressed or if OH and I fight, it may just be the stress coming through
-
It might not be anything, she might just be going through a sooky spooked phase? Can I ask why it matters if she is crated every night? (I know she broke out this time but normally, why not just have her crated?)
-
Isn't she at the age of her last fear imprint stage, maybe that has something to do with it???
-
Maybe its cos you named her Kaos, and she's just trying to live up to expectations!!!
-
Ah Cin, but we know you're not a bad owner chicky Maybe there's something in the yard thats bothering her
-
Yeah think it is worth getting her checked out just to be sure
-
TB, are you sure it's nothing medical? It seems really odd, would think her behaviour might change this way after you do go back to work, not while you are still home? Too much freedom to normal maybe? It's worth a try

This is a really good site, and have given you the page for targetting http://www.dragonflyllama.com/%20DOGS/Leve...TL23Target.html You have exactly the right idea, and with the which hand to cue for which paw, depends which end result you want! lol I didn't teach shake but went straight to wave, so I used the hand on the side of the paw I wanted, but maybe you could use opposite hand to paw for shake, and then teach same hand to paw for wave?
-
lol you can reward him for offering while he is still learning, but once the bahaviour is pretty solid don't reward unless you have asked for the behaviour or he will do it all the time! With shaking hands, once he knows what the behviour is, I would only click if he gives you the hand you ask for I have my 2 so they will wave with whichever hand I use, it's very cute! It took them a little while, and they would offer the wrong paw alot but I would just wait and repeat the command, and as soon as they gave me the correct one click Definitely teach targetting, it is so helpful, especially when doing leg weaves and things like that
-
Thats good if it's at kcc Stella, seeings as you live there anyway! lol I reckon little Heidi would be great at it
-
OT again! I had my eyebrows done 2 weeks before them! lol and went back cos I just had to get my eyeliner done Though I didn't use bepanthen on them, I used the protat cream
-
My tattooist did a dog once as a cancer preventative There are many views on whether or not it is effective I guess bepanthen would work, like it does on humans, but would be hard to stop him licking it I would imagine that their noses would be pretty sensitive (I have my eyeliner done and it was pretty painful, but I was awake for it!)
