  3. Looking good! What were you using? Was it a toy? I am going to start using Ed's new found love, a tennis ball I think, to get his lazy butt going! lol Oh and love that collar
  4. Oh great to hear! Bet you're missing him heaps
  5. Exactly, so many good responsible owners will be put off by this sort of thing and go to somewhere they know will give them the pet that they have tried getting in a other ways
  6. They can get out swimming pretty soon after the ops normally I think The life jackets are great, Ed and Moll both have them Dogs in motion in melbourne have them really cheap compared to those I've found on the net, and they will post them to other states I'm pretty sure, kimjm on here works there, she can help Is it this week that his op is? Good luck for it, and big hugs and kisses for the little guy
  7. He's not alone My ratties who have gone are keeping him company, and he has lots of friends, Shaggy, Missy, Mighty, Buster and Star, and they loooove to play! Lots and lots of scritches for Wedge and some yoghurt drops too
  8. Taught my guys last night, they think its fun! They not big barkers so I had to act like a lunatic to get them going, and often its a growly talk instead of a bark, but I'm going with those as well cos they are easier on the ear! They are still offering all sorts of behaviour, but they are getting there and only being praised for a straight bark
  9. Eddie keeps dropping when he paws, I don't know if he thinks the drop is being rewarding or the pawing I held the lid up and he paws at it, but when its on the floor he drops everytime
  10. I train little bits every day but formally train twice or three times a week I do little tricks and stays for dinner etc all the time, but heeling etc, not as often I need to get more motivated for heeling,

  13. He'll probably be able to swim for exercise too, which will be good for him to get going again with no impact
  14. Oh good luck for the surgery, poor little guy He'll be up on his feet in no time I'm sure
  15. Exactly, extremely well put, I agree completely
  16. To the OP, I think you're pup will be fine with 10 hours, as long as they are walked and spend quality time with you when you are home As I said earlier, it was more disruptive to Eddie for me to come and give him his lunch meal than it was to leave him the day, and he was never too hungry and we never missed any medical attention that he needed If he ever had medical emergencies (which only happened once and it was while we were home as his run is secure and free from anything which could potentially harm him) I would take time off work to get him to the vet He is healthy and well adjusted to spending time at home (now with Molly)
  17. Ed got fed barf as a pup and he's now 16 months and very healthy
