Ohhhh Molly :D I'm so sorry, she sounds very loved

You've got to remeber that the guides on the food are only that, a guide to start from, and then you should adjust to the individual dogs needs, and metabolism If she needs less it is completely fine to give less, better to be feeding less that the "guide" than have an overwight puppy IMO Just like people, some dogs will put on weight easier than others
-

For Eileen http://forums.dogzonline.com.au/index.php?...264&st=3015 Come over here!

We took Ed to puppy school and started obedience at a club after his 2nd vaccs, after speaking to the vet we decided it was a justifiable risk fora breed that needs lots of socialisation (every breed needs it but just staffords are under so much pressure already)
-
I'm really confused as to why you are getting defensive about what you do with your EM? We said we like crate training for staffords and you feel the need to justify why you dont with your mastiff, and bring up our breed history which has nothign to do with any of this Crate training is a very very small part of training for any dog, and it does not replace other training

Awwww puppies!!!!! Very cute!!!!
-
Crating is the best thing you can do, it gives them their own place, and it is also extremely handy for times when they need to be confined My 2 both sleep in their crates, and if I try to get them on the bed for a cuddle at bed time they just want to get in their crates! Whilst we are home they are out in the house and they do what they like, they have a doggy door into a big run with a human sized cubby house in it, and they are happy in the mornigns when we leave for work, they run out to get their bickie, no stress about being left We take them everywhere we can to socialise, socialising should never stop IMO, and we do obedience as I can't stand to see an untrained out of control stafford. They love every person they meet too! lol When I got Ed as an 8 week old pup, I had the weekend with him and a few days off work, then i came home for lunch for 2 days until i realised I was interupting him more by coming home than leaving and he was fine, he slept, and had no probs with being left, he was an awsome pup Molly we got at 8 months, we seperated them during the day for a week or 2, but she would dig or jump over fences to get to Eddie cos she just wanted to be with him, and they have been together since We need pics!!!!

Ahhh K9 agility, thats the one I was trying to think of last night! I don't blame you for not being happy, it was crappy
-
hehehe He likes the back end of her for sure! Just scared of the front end!

Thanks thats a much better explanation, silly me posted in a rush and left out stuff

I have been having this issue with Ed as well, especially this weekend, even with dogs he knows, and was going to post about it tonight! On the weekend for eg, he was terrified of Sway, the GD who he knows, he used to be fine with her when she was smaller but now he walks around her, avoids her and she accidentally fell on him and he got all shitty, and growly, he didnt touch her it was all noise, but its so confusing

When I was asking about it at southern last year they said that Berwick can do the height cards?

Funny Stories About Trialling Or Training.
shoemonster replied to Astro Boy 2's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Hmmm yes well Mr Bolter Eddie The joys of training at a place where I have let the dogs free run too many times! :D Ed was lovely last night, did some nice short recalls, though OH took him for a walk down the road when I was in class with Molly and a rabbit ran out in front of him, and he got scared and ran the opposite direction then hid behind OH! -
Funny Stories About Trialling Or Training.

:D Last night in class as I left Molly for stays, 3 of the other dogs broke and bolted so she joined them, I didn't even realise for a sec as I was walking away from her She then did big circles running around having a ball, visiting all the different classes, (including Cosmolo and her doggies in the agility ring) then when she was closer I called her and she came and did a perfect recall to me! Little bugger -
Can A Dog Cope With More Then One Thing
shoemonster replied to SwaY's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I think this is a big part of it, it really depends on the clarity of the person teaching the dog and if they themselves get confused with it
