  1. Thanks guys In novice you return around the dog (dunno why, it seems stupid when in the recall they finish) and then anywhere up from novice the dog has to finish ETA she's come a long way from the dog who snapped her dumbell in half when we first started
  2. Quick vid of Molly's retrieve for Novice, she's going really well with it, any comments or constructive critisism welcome (and yep I porbably shouldnt laugh at my own throw in the ring either!)
  3. The lead I used for CCD is 120cm, and I found it a little too long for trialling with a stafford, so the 1m one would probably be perfect
  4. Are flat feet the same as weak pasterns? If so could vitamin c help with this?
  5. Yeah Jules too, its been ages since we all caught up
  6. Foos back when daylight savings is back, feels like forever already! We'll have to do our own catch up again I think, spotted devil, you'll be up for that too huh
  7. Retrieve looks good too, very enthusiastic! Cant see what she is like with holding it from that angle though! Foo was good, the best night Ive had One day I will be relaxed in the ring...... one day!
  8. Yep its on the website, and they arent doing printed copies to sell anymore aparently, so just print it out off the site (though alot of the clubs should still have them hanging around)
  9. Not crappy at all DD! She has all the enthusiasm, just needs a bit of fine tuning. How is she with a more formal ring set up? Come to Foo tonight it's the last one
  10. Yep they are, but if the OP is from Mornington its a bit of a drive for training
  11. Yeah I would think it would depend on the exercise Ball throwing gets them hyped up, in drive, same as free running I guess (if they are the type to bolt off, and chase birds/bugs/imaginary things!), whereas a walk or a bike ride is a calmer exercise
  12. Molly and I are going too, will see you all there
  13. Congratulations!!! Dont worry I had to ask the same thing!
  14. Permission to cross post All Victorians Please Note - OTEC/FOO's Training cancelled 3.03.09 Hello everyone, Would all Victorians that are booked into attend FOO's training at the State Dog Cente (KCC Park) tomorrow afternoon/evening please note that training has now been cancelled. This decision has not been taken lightly; but due to the severe weather warnings for tomorrow, for the entire state, we believe this is the responsible course of action for all concerned. All the reports are advising that unless absolutely necessary people should not travel therefore training has been cancelled for tomorrow night. Please accept our apologies but the safety of our members and their dogs is paramount. FOO's training will recommence next week on Tuesday 10.3.09, weather permitting!! I would appreciate it if members of this group could cross post this notice to asssit in advising everyone who might be involved. Thank you & Regards Regards Lynn Klecka Chair Dogs Victoria Obedience Tracking & Endurance Committee.
  15. I sorted out Molly's humping with Steve's advice, and sin binned her outside everytime she did it, and she hardly ever does it now, it's improved heaps
  16. Not really very helpful, but I thought the title said Angels constant humping, and got all confused when you started talking lizards and insects!
  17. Flyball, agility etc have age limits to ensure the dogs arent jumping at too young a age. I think that although there certainly could be dogs who have arthritus or joint problems in older age who used to compete, look how many over weight lazy couch dogs have the same problems and they have never competed in anything
  18. I'm curious. What's wrong with letting dogs play in the dog park, except for the risk factor regarding unknown dogs? Is there anything negative about too much socialising? If you take the risk out of it then there isnt really anything wrong with it, but you cant take the risk out, the risk is there and its very real Even with dogs you know there is still a risk, and now to me that is not worth it

    Honey

Im so so sorry berty  Big hugs from me and the bookends
  20. Used to do the dog park thing, but now they are older I wish I hadnt. i got too caught up in humanising it, and thinking they should love being able to play with friends Next time (yeah how many times do we say this) I'm aiming for neutral. Will socialised, but controlled, not a free for all, where I risk things going wrong At the moment, my guys will run with a limited handful of dogs that I know, but never with unknown dogs

  22. Since Ed's surgery Ive been feeding him a mix of raw, and Eagle pack power formula, its almost nutrigrain size, and Ive been using only that for his treats too, he seems to love it (mind you he aint fussy) Only prob is it doesnt come in the smaller bags I dont think, when I bought it was 18kg bag, but am happy to bag some for you to try? ETA funny how all the training addicts end up in health when there is the word training in the subject
