Stafford v's stafford!!! From a demo Another demo, Mollys first one And her first comp! Silly Moll moll! -
Sorry Rommi, i didnt see this either! Have you started anything yet? I definately agree with tigerjack, dont rush into racing, make sure you are confident in them before you go in the ring Also start sending her to a stationary ball, alot of dogs who love to chase a ball arent so interested when the ball is sitting still in the box! Put the ball out, hold her back from it and really rev her up to go run and get it and bring it back to you Flyball is learnt in heaps of small steps, everything seperate, a jump at a time, box work, to get them turning with all 4 feet on the box, then you gradually add it all together Good luck! Flyball is fun!!!

Oops i forgot about rotty club :p They would be good for Bundy Southern wont have a problem with him, they have more pitty looking dogs there with no probs, they just arent allowed to accept APBT if thats what you put down on the reg We used to train at rotty club, it was great to get Ed used to the bigger dogs and the people are very aware of keeping space. Am also a member at southern but havent trained at a club in months If Bundy was to go I might have to rethink that

Southern train wed nights, in Bangholme, so just up the Franston Freeway from you

Hastings 2 Day Flyball Comp This Weekend!
shoemonster replied to a topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Yeah that sounds awesome!!! -
Husky, when I tripped, molly stayed pretty much in position, I didnt land on my ass or anything just a bit of a hop, so we didnt lose any points for it, she went on to get her 2nd pass and won her ring Terranik, I wish I could be calm about it all, I'm such a stress head Rubystar, I didnt find the last one hard to get, though you do put more pressure on yourself With Ed he did 4 trials, pass, pass, nq, pass (with the first 2 being a double trial) With Molly she did 6, nq, nq, pass, nq, pass, pass (with the first 4 being a quadruple trial and the last 2 being a double) DD, that sucks, and yeah they dont count CCD in HIT either, but then you are a way more experienced handler than me so you dont need CCD!!! Rubystar, that scent descrim is looking awesome!!!

Hastings 2 Day Flyball Comp This Weekend!

We be there Then a big break, what will we do?!!! -
Yeah course we can! What is he motivated by? Food or toys? Or lots of hugs from his girlfriend (me )
-
I did CCD with both dogs, because I am too much of a nervous handler to go straight to novice Its a good build up for the handler, and good for the dogs to get used to your nerves in there and get used to funny little things you will find yourself doing in there (like me when I tripped over Mollys lead in fig 8)
-
yes he does have big man muscles!!! I'd love to have Ed's metabolism (but maybe not quite the amount of muscles or I'd look like one of those body builders!
-
Yep thatd be good!!!
-
Thank you  He did well tonight, he had someone pick up his reward and call him to them, and he still stayed with me, and though he lost a little focus, he did really well, better than I was expecting (ye of little faith! ) ETA I still havent met Dexter, he looks like such a gorgeous boy
-
In all my early trials i just used show forms - it didnt matter, as long as all your info is there, and just make sure you put in heights if you have jumps in your class
-
Yeah I love it too, love watching the dogs that look like they are having a good time, all excited, and especially love watching Eds vids now, cos when we started he was very unsure, and not confident at all, he found obedience a drag, now its just all exciting Would love to see how he would go with an experienced handler, just to see which parts of what he does are a result of me
-
Go for both, dogs are clever, as long as you are consistent they will learn the difference in both and you wont have any probs, same as showing and obedience, mixed opinions, but the dogs really do know the difference if you are consistent with your training, and theres heaps out the with show and obed and agility titles

Heres the drive training link for anyone interested http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...c=43795&hl=

Thanks everyone! I've told Ed he is a star but all he cares about that he doesnt want to go out in the rain so I can go to work! The drive is great for building confidence, just be prepared to have a bit of a nutcase for a while cos they go back to basics first then all the obedience comes back in as you go! The 28 second hop was a treat being thrown for him, he was a bit laggy on his turns, so just getting him to come around a bit quicker by surprising him every now and then Rubystar read the drive training thread pionned at the top of training (I think its pinned otherwise stalk K9Forces threads and you'll find it) TID with food is fairly similar but I reccomend doing the prgram with him and then you get to bombard him with questions and get all the feedback you need Tiggy, glad to motivate another stafford!!! There needs to be more of us out there in the rings showing how good our little buggers can be! Clover, hehe thank you! You get to see his good and evil side in person (the chip monster!)
-
Theyve come a long way since that members comp we did with you!!!
-
I even found rescue remedy pastilles, which are ace, but the fear is stronger Just got to get his feet still on that stand for exam, what he did in the vid he does even with no video camera in his face, lifts the foot up as the judge comes, then lifts it again as I come around him. He does the same in a sit only we dont lose points for that ;)
-
;) Thank you! He is a good boy, and I'm very very proud of how far we've come with TID, with food. We're getting pretty close to going back to trialling, its more me than anything, I get so so nervous!
-
Just posted a link to this for LP in Mollys thread but then decided Ed deserves his own thread, have been doing K9 Forces drive training with himf, and he is doing really well
-
Weird cos, try this one LP - just for you
-
who woulda thought from the dog that Jules and LP first met years ago! Luvs dogs, I've chanelled her evil into angel I've worked heaps on focus, and doodling around with heeling, 2 steps forward, turn, about turn, with throwing treats, and rewarding for eye contact She is a bit of a dag and sometimes gets very enthusiastic doing somersaults to get into heel etc Laffi, I guess the flyball helped with the retrieve, as once I had her holding it steady I would rev her up before I asked her to fetch, and now she is very enthusiastic to get it. She has her slower moments as well, but is generally pretty happy to run out and grab it LP, not yet! Got to get it consistent first (and yes I'm good at excuses! )

Ah well, it will come in handy for open! Best practise both anyway so he doesnt anticipate it later too
