Did you look at the link I posted on Friday? here it is again. http://www.google.com.au/search?q=fashions+of+WWII&hl=en&prmd=imvns&source=lnms&tbm=isch&ei=2wkQT_PpM6-QiQfrufkN&sa=X&oi=mode_link&ct=mode&cd=2&ved=0CC From watching lots of old movies made during WWll & pictures of my mum at that time, the woman wore knee length skirts & suits due to the scarcity of materials. A lot of them worked on the farms & in industry due to the men being overseas where they wore slacks & overalls. When they went to dances & balls they wore long dresses. Get a hold of the movies "Pearl Harbour" & "Paradise Road" to give you some ideas. Thanks for the link Luvsdogs. I do remember now looking at it on Friday (oops my stuff up).

Ok a question for you all regarding costumes for DWD routines, how does one decided what is the right coustume to wear? And if it an era that the song is about do you try to have something as close to it as you can get? Also can anyone tell me what sort of clothing the women wore doing ww2? Did they wear pants and could they wear them for formal events? Hats?
-
Well done luvsdogs for agreeing to do DWD at the Pet Expo this year :)
-
regarding Kenz, it is bad enough when we have upset tummies, let alone our furkids. Happy to hear though that she is perkier tonight. Thanks for your suggestion Ness, will give it a go over the coming week so that I start putting a routine together as time is ticking away too fast for the March comp, Now to those who might of been around in the war years, did any women wear pants? I am looking into the period for one of the songs that I plan to do. thanking you all in advance for any suggestions that you might have
-
Well I now have heaps of songs to work with, just got to work out which ones to use. Does anyone know how to make two hoops into Hearts? Also can anyone remember if women in uniform wore pants during the war? and what hat? Also what did women wear in general in that era? Ness how is Kenz today?

Ness, Glad that you now know what the specialist want Kenz to do. How long does he think that rehab will go for? Please give Kenz a cuddle for me

Good luck finding some music. ;) thanks will need it.

Just looked at the DWD website for Vic and they have got the schedule for Ballarat ODC DWD comp on it. They have also got another trial listed but no details as of yet for 18th June.. got my HTM routine in my head, now all as I need is some music to go with it ROFLOL
-
oh Ness, I feel for you I don't know what to say. It is hard to know what to do if they are relying on you. Do you know how many other ppl are going to be there?
-
Fingers are crossed that everything will be ok and that her 30sec zoomie even though it was fun hasn't had any ill effect Stay cool in this hot weather that we are having
-
HI Ness, How is Kenzie going? will she be ok for the DWD demo?
-
You will do fine and your routine will come together really quickly, A friend of mine is going to give freestyle a go and showed me part of her routine, which I was naughty and changed the start for her as her boy doesn't sit still at her side. So I got her to sit him in front and it was much better. Best pull my finger out and get a routine going as March is looming and so is the DWD trial at Ballarat. (schedule is out on their site) Good luck Ness
-
Hey Ness how are you going with your routines? I have hit a brick wall with Tux. Got plenty of ideas for the Goldie though.
-
Yeah I've heard this too - also more than happy to help out with the running of it if they do I think that you might be right here as a member from your club came out to the lecture/workshop that was held for the judges and interested parties. He was telling a friend of mine how they had already got some special holders for the signs. Can't remember his name though
-
Hi TSD, not sure which clubs will be teaching Rally-O but about the DWD go to the DWD australia website and click on the Vic link as that has some contact details on it for your friend.

LOL.. and here I am having trouble deciding what song to use for Novice Freestyle and Novice HTM.. so I am no help to you Ness. One that I had thought of was SnowPatrol's Chasing Cars, but not sure how to dance to it. So many songs are running through my head now it is not funny. And Itunes is being a pain as it won't let me join up or otherwise I am doing something wrong! I am after David Hobson singing Loch Lomond as it will suit Meg to a T. Any ideas???
-
YES I agree to that

Well my morning start off not too crash hot as big Market umbrella that was put up for the judges took flight and flew in front of Tux. Since I was the one holding the darn thing he blamed me for it giving him a fright. Called him to me, but he was suss over what had happened and hung back.. In to the ring we go, SBD very good apart from the missed sit and it went down hill from there. The only other three exersises that we did well was the Cloths Sendaway Recall and G.E. Blew the first leather, but got the next one. So roll on 2012 Victoria had their last trial of the year yesterday and the next official ones don't start until March 2012.
-
Hi Tassie, the trial will be held in March. Not sure on the date as of yet, but it might be the 17th ?????

Thanks for the congrats everyone Meg certainally did try in the afternoon and I am very proud of her morning pass. I only get to see Meg once a week. Her Mum had tears in her eyes when we got her pass Thanks once again
-
Small brag for Tux and myself cause yesterday we gained both our Freestyle and HTM starters title in the morning and in the afternoon repeated the routines again. We even gained a P.B with a score of 159 in the afternoon's HTM But the biggest brag that I have is that Meg who is my friend's goldie that I handle gained her first pass in HTM starters in the morning :)to the music of The Little Drummer Boy and just missed out by a few points for her second pass in the afternoon. Meg is nearly 11 and had just learnt to get up onto the "drum" three weeks ago.
