Tassie did very well gaining all four passes yesterday :) lovely routines too. It was lovely meeting you yesterday Margaret Deakes with Polly (who is a Dandie Dinmont Terrier) gained their HTM starters Title and also did very well in their first attempt at Freestyle with a lovely 1st place win. Gamby should be on here bragging too about her 2nd pass in HTM Novice and she also got second place. Tux and I did very well in gaining a pass in Freestyle Novice and we brought home a pretty blue ribbon that says first on it for our HTM Novice Routine. To say that I am proud of Tux is an understatement. 'My" Goldie's mum was sick so Meg stayed home. She is so disappointed that she missed out this time Congratulations Ballarat ODC on a very succesful day and it was great to see alot of club members doing so well in their very first attempt.

Darn it and here I thought that I was safe out a video's reach.... Make sure that you point it at a certain Dandie Dinmont that is compteting in Freestyle. S and HTM.S. We are hoping that she gains her HTM.S title tomorrow. I think that she might be the first one ever to gain a DWD title. See you tomorrow Ladies

Video what video???? And that you cant have pennies to come over in April. At least SA will be having some trials now:)
-
Hey Tassie, once you're there you'll be pleasantly surprised that most of us are in the same boat. First on though is a bit tough. If your doing Freestyle I'll make you very welcome as I'm the Freestyle Assembly Steward that will look after you. Also, it'll be over before you know it and then you can meet and greet and watch all the upcoming wonderful performances from those who love music and their dog/s See you on Sunday Gamby :)
-
Well save up some pennies, and come across here in April as there is a double trial happening I beleive..
-
The weather looks like it will be approx 22 degrees and sunshine but could be a couple of degrees cooler in Ballarat. Are you packing some shelter for you and the kids?
-
-
Not long now before Ballarat's DWD comp :) Fingers are crossed that the weather will be kind :)
-
Great :) So how will I recognise you apart from having two BC's Aussies are easy to spot.
-
You will do fine, I know you will. Oh and about my freestyle routine, I haven't done a thing about it since Saturday. Too hot and now too wet..
-
but you was half right  Meg just needs one HTM.s pass for her title and two for freestyle starters
-
Ness, Meg is in Starters and Tux and I are in Novice :)
-
LOL, I only have the music cut for Tux's freestyle :) Good idea to leave Rory's f/s until after Sunday :) I know what you mean about dogs liking things to happen fast, the youngest member of my furclan loves things fast. And there are people over here waiting to see you at Ballarat, as I told them you was coming VBG.
-
YAY for Scotland The Brave as that was one of the songs I looked at for Meg, it is just a wee bit too fast for her to maintain. And I can't remember Highland Laddie. And yes we will swamp them with Pipers. Ballarat's comp is only three weeks away and I still haven't finished my routine
-
Tassie, yes Ballarat is only 3 weeks away. And I agree weather wise, not hot or wet as it is being held outdoors. What bagpipe song will you do? If you are lucky you might see me do The Little Drummer Boy which is done by the Red Hot Chillie PIPERS. As well as Loch Lomond. Just got to fix the vest up by changing the pure wool to cotton material. Meg has her tarten collar, though I might redo it and make it into a scrunchie type collar. Couldn't really see it the last time. Haven't got my FS even started yet. Got the music and a few ideas, but that is it. Mrs D, hope that when you compete in Advance that some one does a recording and you are willing to share it with us.
-
How is every one going with their DWD routines? Mine is coming along ok. Ballarat's DWD comp entries closes on the 7th March. So hoping that the weather cools down by then as I am so over this hot weather. Can't practise my routine when it is this hot.
-
Well done on getting a lovely UDX pass Ptolomy, only four more and you will have your Gr Ob Ch title And I am sorry that I was slack in congratulating Bedazzled on their UDX pass last week. Well done to you both too. Tux has been sick and I was concentrating on getting him better, which he is now :) Haven't done much in the way of UDX training so it will be interesting when we get back into it. Vic first open Obed trial is in March.
-
YAY that is good that you both did well even though there wasn't a piece of cardboard at the end of the day..
-
As a DWD judge I would have no problem with this song, so go for it :D Thanks BC4Me and Ness for replying to my question. Now I have more opitions for a John routine. Ballarat's trial is coming up too quickly now.
-
Ok need some advice.. John Farnham's You're the Voice has the line - looking down the barrel of a gun.. would the judges take offence to that line? Am trying different songs of John's to my routine to. My novice HTM is coming along nicely and Tux is learning some new spins as we will not be doing leg weaves. Learning to handle our prop( flowers) has been interesting cause if I don't change hands with them it throws Tux out for his heeling positions.
-
When do entries open?? I think I will jump in for both depending on how Abby picks up a third position for HTM. Now for music I have been looking alllllll week and still nothing! I know what you mean about the music Junabaar. I still haven't decided what song to use for my freestyle novice routine. HTM novice routine is nearly completed
-
Ohhh good luck what routine are you doing?? Here is a link to the article that got put in the Toowoomba Chronicle. They have misinterpreted several things Sharon has said but it's still good PR for DWD, and I love the photo of me and Chook :D My link That is a lovely pic of you and Chook, even if the article is a bit patronising! We'll be trying to refine our freestyle to Village People - "You Can't Stop The Music" and if all goes to plan, our new HTM to a fun piece from the Aladdin Musical. Got to love the Village People for their songs :) so catchy and easy to work routines to. Can I ask which piece of music you are going to do from Aladdin?

We had our first competition of the year up here in QLD yesterday. Toowoomba Dog Obedience club ran the competition for us. Toowoomba is located approx 2hrs west of Brisbane so it was a far drive for us all, but well worth going. It was a lovely venue and a well run trial, thanks Toowoomba Dog Obedience Club. The results are from the K9freesstye forum for you all to see. My boys did very well, Chook 1st in HTM Novice and Styler 3rd in HTM Novice and 3rd in Freestyle starters and all quallies. Do you have an older rule book? If I remember rightly the one in 1995 had the measurements. I think that I still have one as it is what I got my hubby to make my BJ to the specs that was written in the glossary Also are you wanting to have comp size or practise size?
-
Hi Nekhbet, All the ones that I have use at various dog clubs are angled. The diagram in the rule book looks like they are angled too, as well as telescopic hope this helps
