  3. Hi my friends baby sheltie is REALLY REALLY sick he has been sick ever since he had his C4 vacc 2 weeks ago, he is only 18 weeks old. He was very lethagic but eating little had the runs was given antibiotics then was coming good. Th past few days he has turned down hill again very fast the vets have done blood tests and also I think have done some tests on his poo?? DO you think this could be from his vacc? or do you think maybe a blockage? or selmalnela (sorry for spelling) from chicken? he also spent 2 days on a drip...
  4. Hi the sump oil and cement just falls apart, this is how I usually judge whether lucy needs some more. How Have you been going with Kasper's ears?? Have you been able to do photo yet? you can pm me a photo if that's easier?
  5. Hi Sheltiesrule, Can I say excellent choice of breed I have got a little tri girl (16wks) who is also teething I use Sump Oil and Cement on her ears. I only have ever put this on the inside of Lucy's ears Once a week I usually replace it with new as my other shelties play with her and rough her up... I also am going to try white chalk (footy fields) and glycerine have been told from mum (breeder) that this really works well. It's a matter of keeping on top of this especially while they are teething. Do you have any pictures of your baby?? Good luck let us know how you get on....
  6. Hi all, I have a sheltie that had has a problem with one eye leaving tear stains, since I have moved out of mum and dads away from that area his eye has virtually cleared up. Maybe it could have something to do with where they live?? Occasionally he'll have a bad day or two (really windy) but I'm amazed at how well it has cleared up. Fingers crossed it stays this way...
  7. Hi personally I think you can talk them out of "s"... I know when my Angel Annie was having them i used to Yell out her name and tell her we going to Grannies and she came out so quickly. So i really would be talking to you kiddies or even try Yelling out there name, you must be persistant keep yelling tell they came out of it. My heart goes out to you all fingers crossed we can beat this f@#$ing thing.... It cant be good for them to keep having "S" for as long as they do??

  12. Hi All, As i have noticed reading over these posts, I was told from a vet that you can't lose a dog while they are having "S"???? is this right or is this vet wrong??? I always worried bout this when Annie was home alone, even thought she was a morning "s" I would often leave her at mums so somebody was with her.. She always liked to be cuddled, and I would have to YELL her name so she would come out of the "S".. which she always did.. I used to always find her out the back in her favourite part of the garden in the sun, so I mad sure it was nice and clear for her... I really do feel for you all and hope that this new brain surgery is going to get passed and other people can benefit from this. My Annie didnt make it as you all know but there is 3 dogs that have and have all been "S" free.. and that been over 4 weeks for the first dog. Take care and hope some "S" free days, weeks, months ahead.
  13. HI Most dogs you will find will have a normal life, well close to normal.. its just a matter of getting the theraputic level. With my Angel Annie i noticed with her pattern in "S" she always had them in the morning 5.30am-10am. Mainly it was at 5.30am when she was due for her meds. It is a really scary thing to see and I feel for you all who are dealing with this horrible desease. Good luck and be sure to keep us posted. Although I lost Annie a few weeks ago Im always watching over this post. Cherio Sheltielover and Angel Annie
  14. Hi Inspector Rex, maggie looked a beautiful baby.. My heart is with you today. Only time will help ease the pain.. this is what i have been told. I know how you feel my baby Annie left me two weeks ago today Take Care Sheltielover and Angel Annie
  15. Hi Meg Ed, I know how your feeling as Staffy-Lover says it does come and go.. What and how much is your puppy on? My Angel Annie was on 37.5mg pb twice daily and 175mg kbr twice day.. she wasnt coping on this and was told to up her dosage but I chose not to thats when I took her to melbourne he said her meds was really high. Apparantly the levels (numbers ) dont mean much to vets????? Annie didnt take to well with the med changes she seem really dazed and confused and very wobbly all the time... I dont mean to make this sound harsh cause all dogs react differently to meds.. it's all about finding the theraputic range for you pet.. Just remember we are all here if you need a chat or shoulder to cry on. Take care and keep us updated. Hope it all works out for you Sheltielover
  16. Hi ChEeKy AnGeL, did you have your loving friend cremated? if so who done this for you?? Im slowly getting my shit together, have decided to take Annie with me to work every day, people may think it's stupid but hey at least then I can have a chat to her bout my day and get things of my chest and know she understands in a strange way.. It's two weeks tomorrow since I made that decision and sometimes I bloody regret the whole surgery for epilepsy, then I will still have her... and not writing in the forum.. Anyway take care and my heart goes out to you and your family. I remember everything bout her even down to her smell can never forget that
  17. My dear Annie, i picked you up today with a thousand tears streaming from my face to have you in my arms again. It felt so right .. i have you sitting on my bedside table.. anytime I think of you I can go into our room and have a talk, I know your listening. I miss you more and more each day your gone. 18. Hi Im not having trouble with my own dogs as they have been bought up getting groomed every day. I have been asked to clip this dog that is full on matted to the skin, when I went round to house the girl told me that the dogs bites, and that even a muzzle is no good?... I told her that maybe she should take dog to vet and get it groomed there as I didnt feel comfortable to do this?? So thankyou for all replies although i have not posted I have been reading these.
