Hi, I think my dogs may have Kennel Cough??? I have Never had this before and think she may have picked it up from a dog show at the KCC Park 2 wks ago as we haven't had a show since then. Can somebody please advise on how I deal with this, I am of to the vet first thing tomorrow morning with her and I am affraid that if she has got it then my other dogs will also come down with it, plus I have been at my parents place so does this mean mum's dogs will also come down with it??? Thanx in advance for any info... I am about to google kennel cough...

My little Annie left me 2 yrs ago today after a short battle with Epilepsy I had to make that horrible decision that we are sometimes faced with. It has been the hardest 2 yrs I have faced in a long time. After seeing you at the vets after your surgery for what was ment to help you but eventually gave you a stroke, I just couldn't sit by and see you like that..... you couldn't walk, couldn't go to toilet, you couldn't even hold your head up by yourself..... The look in your eyes was the lights on but nobody home and that KILLED me inside, it's then I saw you saying to me " Mum please let me go" and I carried out your wish and you went to sleep on my lap. Annie was my best friend, she always seemed to know when I was sad and needed a cuddle or a lick. I hope your having fun up in doggy heaven, hope that you and your dad are getting to know each other again. Miss you Annie more and more as time goes by. There will never be another Annie I still can't talk about you as we normally would it just hurts too much, as I'm writing this now the tears for you are flowing. I love Annie and miss you sooooooooo much...................

Hi thankyou about the advice.... I have read the ingredients on the packaging tonight and all but Super Coat and Optimum have got food colouring in them... I have taken him of pedigree natural now and put him back onto the Optimum that his breeder was feeding him.... Thankyou again, I'm going to the royal on saturday so will have a look at getting me some stuff to mask over till it fades... I washed him in Plum white then Sard last week and it did cover it up well..

I feed my dogs on Pedigree Natural with Chicken,Rice,Vegies..... plus they have chicken wings twice a week and chicken carcus once a week... Carrot every day.... Poos not to bad I mix the bikkies with human beef regular mince... I find my sheltie thrives on this her coat is so shiny and healthy looking... I'm thinking of changing food for my Jap sptiz though to Optimum...

I now have a white dog and was him in Plum White shampoo ( twice) and he comes up a treat....

I was looking at joining the Altona one with a friend in Nov..... I didn't know there was one in werribee- this would be alot closer to me.... I'm bringing my sheltie and my friend is bringing her German Spitz ;)................ can't wait for november to come around, I did used to do it in WA ages ago and now I have got a dog who I know will love it I thought it was about time.....

Thankyou, I have taken her off the chicken wings and she's now having mince with Pedigree Natural, tonight she had chicken and Lamb VIP loaf with biscuits... it's been about 5 weeks since her surgery for the gastro.... I really hope she's not heading for a relapse I will be getting mum to come get her tomorrow and taking her to the vet. She was wormed not long ago will have to get back to you as mum done it... We had another sheltie that had pale gums and he ended up being pts as he had that "Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia"......... :p

Hi my sheltie have got pale gums and seem a little of colour??? could this be because she's fed a raw diet? She mainly get's chicken wings..... Lucy has just recovered from a really bad case of gastro to the point I nearly lost her could it be she hasn't fully recovered???? She's still kinda of herself but sometimes looks really flat, Am I just being paranoid??? I'm keeping a close eye on her her nose is always wet, she's drinking fine and going to toilet ok.. I will be taking her to the vet but I'm curious to see if this has happened to any one else??

I sometimes use johnson and johnson baby shampoo on my dogs, I too get comments on how goos my dogs coats are, as said before diet does play a part in how your dogs coat does look.

My darlin Annie, I hope you were waiting at the gates today to meet your daddy again? it still only feels like yesterday that your were taken away but it's been quiet a few months now. Your daddy had been sick for a little while granny and I tried our best to save him from this disease but we knew that we had to do we had to send your daddy back to you, so he could keep you out of trouble I take some comfort in knowing that your together again now you can show him around play like you used to. I miss you Annie more and more every day. Love you always your mum,dad and granny and granpa miss you too.

Our gentle man has been given his wings today . Pepsi fought so hard to stay with us but in the end this bloody disease took his life, he passed away in mum's arms this afternoon. We all knew what was coming but to get that email thru at work today well what can I say I just broke down. Pepsi is now at the bridge playing games with his daughter Annie also taken at a young age from Epilepsy. Pepsi used to be so full of energy and he did live his life to the fullest he didn't want for anything well only loads and loads of hugs and kisses. He will be really missed from his sleeping buddy Jade. These two were inseperable sleeping together,playing games with each other, they basically lived in each others pockets so to speak. Pepsi your one in a Million and it's going to be very hard to go to granny's place and not see you. RIP our truely gentle man :p Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia this is the disease that finally took our man ;)

It's a very sad day today at Sharndah our beloved Pepsi has been sent to the the disease finally got him. We can take comfort in knowing he's pain free now.

Charmbug my heart goes out to you and your family on your loss. Just take comfort in knowing she will be pain free now, I hope my Annie was waiting for her on the other side I'll be posting here in a few days

Sorry Pepsi is only going to be 9 in June soooo soooo young ;) I can't belive the vet is charging us $75 for the needle.. don't get me wrong money is no issue.....
