Hi Razzle, Yes both days so it will be easier for you to find the person with the four shelties as there are none others going. Look forward to meeting you and your dog. Mooper, Jazz and Jemma, havent quite got the hang of it, so we moved them into a bigger area on Friday and they were much better. Yep we continue for the fun and the mental excercise for them. None of mine have nipped yet. The sheep here are Damara and they are more like goats . -

Razzle, where are you located?, I have a feeling that we may have the same instructors as our HIC is the same weekend -
Prices will vary depending on where you live: The franchise operators on the Coast here charge FROM $20 for a bath and chamois dry, where as where I am they wont pay more than $15.00 as the vet clinics only charge $10.00 but no dry. Clipping generally starts at about $35.00 for small dogs, $45 for medium and $55.00 for large. That is for the clip only. Call some of the parlours in your local area and find out what they charge.

Earlier this year Mooper had a thread about Jack and his herding training and we have just started so wondering how us newbies at this are faring. We have been taking our four and its interesting to see how they work individually. Skye is a natural, cool calm and collected; Jazz (her first day today), worked much better in the bigger area but a little unsure; Jemma bless her thinks that herding means walk with Mum; whilst Panda (my black sheep of the family) is AWESOME and the instructors are very kindly highly praising of his work. Forgot the camera. We have our HIC on 09 Sept for all four and then will be taking Panda on from there.

Filtabac, sunscreen and anibacterial, for horses and dogs, thickish like zinc, but they will always try and lick it off. -
Premium Dog Foods...too Expensive!
ShesaLikeableBiBear replied to Cassiepeia's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I typed Great Barko into a Goolge Aus search but it didnt give me a site where I could read the ingredients list, OK so it has beef, pork, chicken etc BUT does that include animal-by products?. Whilst I am not going to change from Nutro am always interested to see what other products are avail and what their make=up is. -

If trying a new food I would always want to see both an ingredients list AND guaranteed analysis which I cant find for either Natural Balance or Great Barko -

That's ONE of the reasons why I feed Nutro as it doesnt have corn. -

Panda that sounds correct, LOL am hopeless with grammes, I have a Nutro measuring cup and I feed from there. Provided your dog is neither under nor overweight then you must be on track. -

ShesaLikeableBiBear replied to Cassiepeia's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Quite honestly as with many other purchases you pay for what you get. ;) If your family knew of the rubbish which went into some foods I dont think you would have a problem converting them e.g. by-products are not just organs but everything else let alone the chemical preservatives and many use corn as a filler, and then peolpe wonder why their dogs have skin and coat problems let alone a poop one as well. As a matter of interest Nutro Natural Choice Chicken and Rice or Lamb and Rice costs only 55cents per day to feed a 4kg dog based on feeding 75 grammes. I dont think that that is an unreasonable amount to spend on dog food. Panda, with Nutro, a 15kg bag for a 12 kg dog would last 7-8 months and on the two mentioned above costing about $1.24 per day based on feeding 170 grammes. -
What Is Your Favourite Thing To Do
ShesaLikeableBiBear replied to leopuppy04's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
We are currently doing Lureing and herding training with mine. I have used a clicker and reward with liver treats, but often find that they are too far away to hear the clicker so have trained them on to a shepherds whistle, works most times. Have done agility in the past and obedience, my old dog loved agility. My current dog has done Dancing with Dogs and he has been on 60 minutes in N.Z. With this you can use both the obedience training and agility but its set to music and he loved it. Trick is to find a piece of music to suit the size and conformation of your dog. e.g. he was trained to Hillbilly Rock Hilbilly Roll and A Walk in the Black Forest, too fast for a Rottie which is better off with something slow. -
Lovely subject , we feed Nutro Natural Choice and it has been proven in some studies done in the US that there is less clean up with Nutro than say Science Diet, Eukanuba or Proplan

Pippa check with your vets but I dont beleive they are in Melbourne, too cold!! they like nice humid weather. -
Just remember with a puppy if you are going to change their diets at all then introduce things slowly and only a miniscule at a time, their tummies are very sensitive at this stage.

Sorry to hear about Kaeleigh. Just as a thought as it has extra joint supplements as well have you considered changing her from Nutro Lamb and Rice to Nutro Lagre Breed Adult?.

The Best Premium Kibble For Fussy Eaters?
ShesaLikeableBiBear replied to feher's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Meant to say that I feed Nutro Natural Choice, (both the dogs and my birman) unlike a lot of other products including the big name brands, it doesnt contain animal by-products or corn. That is the base of their diet and then I also feed sardines once or twice a week and chicken wings. For treats they get beef liver which I dry in a de-hydrater.
