Perhaps just feed them a light/lite dry kibble and cut out the pasta and rice, have a look at the ingredients list of what you feed, I think you will find it already has sufficient carbohydrate in it. You may also need to cut out the pet mince, depending on what it is it probably has a very high fat content.

We use sentinel spectrum for worming, Advantix for ticks both available from www.pricelesspets.com.au Yes Advantix is expensive but a trip to the vet if you dog does become affected by a tick is over $400.

We use Advantix and Preventic collars and are in a high tick area

We feed our puppies on "soaked" kibble when we first start weaning but by the time they are 8 weeks old they are eating it dry. We prepare it this way as when we feed and do not leave it in the frig.

Eaglepack contains ground yellow corn and corn germ meal, am not sure about Royal Canin as their website is undergoing changes, Nutro does NOT use corn

Mooper, didnt have my camera but on Sunday after an absence of a month Panda decided he wanted to chase, he managed to get the sheep up against the fence and one lost its balance and fell on top of him hopefully it knocked some sense in to the silly bugger, they are Damara. MMMM when you look at the ingredients list it has far too much rice and wheat for my liking Rice, Rice Bran, Beef Meal, Wheat, Wheat Bran, Wheat Pollard, Poultry Meal, Soyabean Meal, Tallow, Chicken Digest, Salt

I havent found the ingredients list for Optimum yet. Looking at the first few ingredients this is for one of the Hills products and would not be a choice of mine when considering a dry kibble. Ground Whole Grain Corn, Chicken By-Product Meal, Corn Gluten Meal, Dried Beet Pulp, Chicken Liver Flavor, Pork Fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols and citric acid).

Having fed a super premium food for 6 years with great results in coat condition, skin condition, less stool volume which is firm, I would be loath to making up a homemade diet. A super premium food ensures that mine get the correct balance of protien, fat, carbohydrates, minerals, vitamins, and joint supplements. When feeding a super premium you feed according to the weight of the dog e.g. Adult maintenance for a 20kg dogs costs approx $1.60 per day which I dont consider to be a huge amount ;)

I have voted premium, however we feed Nutro which is in fact a SUPER premium. :D

Have you thought about trying Nutro Adult Performance, it is avail in Vict from 4 Paws and More Pet Supplies, Sagitarrian would be able to help you.

MMM Pawsonly are selling Nutro for more than the RRP, we have heard of giving a discount off the RRP, but why would you charge more?.

Nutro do have a holistice range but unfortunately it is not avail in Aussie YET.
