  1. An ex sheltie breeder who now shows a Lowchen uses potato flour. As Dru has mentioned it can be caused by the diet, i.e. added colourants. If using a dry food then check if it has added colourants, one that doesnt is Nutro.
  2. Recommend you look at Nutro's Adult Performance which is avail from here: http://www.4pawsandmore.com.au/ The owner has a background in dog nutrition and would be more than happy to discuss various foods with you.
  3. A trip to the vet is certainly in order if the behaviour has changed markedly in the last few months. Look forward to seeing you and your shelties in the breeed forums: here is a link http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=82604
  4. You may want to try here for Nutro http://www.pawzazzpetz.com.au/
  5. Lamb and Rice and Puppy Lamb and Rice were both affected by the irradiation. Your supplier should take it back but that would depend on the quantity you have used. Was the bagged ripped BEFORE you bought it?. Very often it is just the outside of the bag that gets ripped depending on how the bag has been handled.
  6. MrsD Nutro did have a problem with Lamb and Rice earlier this year due to restrictions placed on them by AQIS whereby the product had to be irradiated (the process is similar to microwaving). Some bags contents had an overcooked smell, despite being safe to feed. Had you not fed the Lamb and Rice to your GSD you could have returned it to your supplier for a full refund, or a replacement bag.
  7. Here is an analysis for Ziwipeak. The bags would be 1kg. I would be wary of the use by date as the offer is well under the wholesale price for a 1 kg bag. http://www.naturalpetfoodsaustralia.com/Zi...k-analysis.html
  8. This link may help with dog sports in Brisbane http://www.dogs4sale.com.au/Clubs_Organisations_Qld.htm
  9. Equinade, a horse shampoo, it is similar to what we used to get: Magic Silver White. Here is a link: http://www.newvet.com.au/p/98261/glo-white---250ml.html
  10. Advantix dont make collars, you are possibly referring to Preventic. We cant use the annual heartworm injections due to sensitivity. We use Advantix, the spot on treatment for ticks, fleas etc, and then sentinel spectrum for worms which includes heartworm.
  11. Daxhound, you must have a very short memory You have broached the subject of samples not being sent to you previously, here was my reply at the time http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...c=98954&hl= You and you mother were in fact sent two lots of samples and as mentioned in the above thread we cannot be held responsible for non-delivery by Aussie Post. Postage on samples is a minimum of $3.85 and there is never any guarantee that someone who enquires will purchase. We know of no other supplier of Nutro who both offers free samples AND pays the postage, perhaps you need to do a google search and find another company who will send you samples, good luck
  12. Have signed up for it, and a few others, but the problem is finding the time to research
  13. Why dont you contact http://www.4pawsandmore.com.au/ The owner is a member of these forums and has a sound background in pet nutrition. They stock numerous brands including Nutro, Royal Canin, Ziwipeak etc and would be able to assit you in selecting the right product to suit your dog.
  14. Emmala, not sure about running around in the scrub or not, my husband had one on his shoulder blades and that was from pruning back lower branches off a tree.
  15. Norskgra, large breed dogs have a reduced need for calcium and phosphorus, they have a varying need for protein and fat levels and require more glucosamine and chrondoitin than do the smaller framed dogs.
  16. Emmala, think you are in S.E.QLD?. In which case you need to treat for heartworm, we use Sentinel Spectrum, which also covers other worms, on a monthly basis. If you are in a paralysis tick area would suggest you look at Advantix, we use this monthly over the winter and fortnighly from now until about May, it alos covers you for fleas. Both these products are available from http://www.pricelesspets.com.au/
  17. Your puppy should be on a formula for Large Breed puppies, personally we feed Nutro Natural Choice.
  18. Ahmadi, am VERY surprised that Nutro was to blame for the problem with your litter, I have raised four litters on Nutro and not had a problem.
  19. Nutro was only introduced into Australia in 2002, hence it is not widely known, but is becoming more popular. It is avail in QLD and NSW through a number of suppliers, two retailers in VIC, was avail until last week in SA, but not anymore and not in TAS, WA or the NT. Not all suppliers on the website are listed and that includes the internet suppliers :D
  20. Erin try here http://www.nutro.co.nz/ there are also a number of on line suppliers, if you were to google Nutro natural Choice it should come up.
  21. We feed Nutro to ours, we have weaned our litters onto it as well. It forms the basis of their diet, we also feed Ziwipeak, chicken wings and the occasional leftovers.
  22. We have five dogs and 4-5 poohs per day per dog would be We feed Nutro, as the basis of their diet, and the stools are nice and firm, and generally we get two poohs per day one after each meal.
  23. We have been feeding Nutro to all of ours for nearly seven years, we have not changed in that time, we also wean our litters onto Nutro. Our dogs range in age from Cassie (mentioned before) to 4 years, 2 will be 7 in Sept, then 9 1/2, we also fed Nutro to our previous dog who passed away at 16. We feed a little Ziwipeak on top of their meals, but Nutro is the basis of their diet. We also feed chicken wings, and occasionally leftovers, or raw meat when making casseroles.
  24. We have always left ours on puppy food until 12 months, Cassie is 8.5 now. Why switch to a better quality food when they are 12mo?.
